Rated 5 de 5 de par "If you can get them on, they can get it off!" These pliers work great when nothing else will bite. The jaws and teeth are solid, heavy-duty, cut well so they dig in and really grab the work. I have owned several pairs of 12" channel lock-style pliers over the years. These Huskies rate highly among the group. The metal is good quality, nicely finished, well-designed for hand feel and strength. Not bad at all for the money, a fine addition to any tool box. Every homeowner, mechanic, plumber and DIY'er should have a pair of these Husky groove-locks. The smaller and larger size Husky groove-locks are also excellent. I keep a pair in or on every vehicle for road-side repairs and impromptu work away from home.

I had to turn it in once before because it got way too loose and wouldn't hold onto a drain pipe. I do wish the grip was thicker like it used to be. I still have an old one I bought 5-6 years ago and like the grip on that one more. Also, the "claw", if you will on this one is pretty straight, which makes it a little hard for me to grip 2 inch pipes. My last one has curves which help tremendously. Still a good set and great price. Check out their 3-5 Husky sets as well which will be significantly cheaper.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Durable and flexible tool I needed an expandable channel lock pliers for removing the drain from an old claw foot tub. Of course the drain had been in place for about 35 years with a large nut underneath. I picked this size and type of pliers based on it's expansion sizes and the durability of how it was constructed. It worked great on 2 tubs that I removed the drains and faucets for refinishing,.

I bought the Husky grove joint pliers to renozzle my irrigation heads. The groove adjustments are very easy to make and are smooth. The rubber grips are firmly affixed and provide a comfortable grip. I will save approx. $200 by doing this work myself vs using an irrigation service co. and trust me I will get "exactly" what I desire.

Jaw gripping size

The specs claim a 4 inch jaw size. is that correct? most 12 inch tongue and groove go up to 2 1/4 inches and the 16 inch versions go to 4 to 4 1/2 inches. Does this 12 inch version really go to 4 inches??? I am looking to use it for plumbing, including a toilet spud nut which is 2 1/2 inches.

Maximum opening is right at 2" (two inches). I have used this several times since purchasing about a month ago.
