In less than two years I’ve had to replace these timers for my 1hp pool pump twice. They say that it has a one year warranty. That’s a whole lotta nothing when I find my pump has been running 24/7 for who knows how long.

It took a bit to figure out why it wasn’t turning on the times I set. But once I really read the instructions it was easy. Now it turns on my pool every morning on time and shuts down every evening. Definitely like not having to worry about forgetting to turn on my pool pump. I would recommend.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Not reliable I use this timer to control an outdoor outlet. Well below its load. I have had so many problems with this that I am done. I have returned/replaced this at least four times over the last two years and have also bought replacement clock motors from Intermatic. Now I discover that it just randomly stops. not turning the outlet on... or in the case of last night, not turning it off. It must be the mechanical timer.... I may try an electronic timer.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Good Product... But... Terrible Instructions Good timer similar to pool timers, which are mechanical - which are much more reliable than the digital, electronic timers used to control lights, which are at risk for failure due to shorts from power surges, and from water infiltration. If this timer experiences a short, it merely trips the circuit breaker, which can be reset and your back in business, unless the short was so bad that it burnt some wires in the timer. However, the installation instructions are not simple and clear enough for most layman homeowners to easily understand the wiring connections (unless you've got some electrical wiring experience) - they could have been made much clearer for those of us, who have very little wiring experience (who probably should hire an electrician to install it anyway). But... if you don't want to wait on the electrician to show... Here's a YouTube video that explains it all very clearly - if you want to DIY it anyway. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3JKZd5NGbk Just make sure the wire from your breaker box, which carries the electricity (typically black) is connected to terminal "1", the wire that continues to carry the electricity to your light fixture (typically black) is connected to terminal "2", and that the wires that do not carry the electricity from your breaker and to your light fixture (neutral wires, which complete the circuit, typically white or red) are both connected to terminal "A". And you'll be fine. The wiring diagram from the mfr - shows the same thing, once you understand it, but... if you don't... "a video is worth a 1000 words / diagrams." Come on Intermatic... get with the program... it's 2016... YouTube is where its at!!!

Rated 2 de 5 de par Clock stopped working Had the product for a year to turn on my outside lights but after the last power outage the clock stopped working and it needs to be replaced.

Rated 5 de 5 de par I needed to replace my old T100 and got the full box instead of just replacing the innards since the old one was full of ants. Same design with a couple tweaks. The plastic safety cover on the front that keeps your fingers away from the terminals is redesigned and less likely to break off. Also the mounting holes have moved just a little - I assume to help prevent water ingress. Nothing a step drill couldn't handle. The only thing missing is a place to clip the extra on/off trippers. If they add that they'll have reached perfection in my book.

Rated 2 de 5 de par I had one before and it only lasted two years.... I had one before and it only lasted two years. I replaced it with this one and it was working fine until last night. The timer didn't move. I had to turn it myself! I was hoping to find one that had the little pegs you insert for start and stop times. I couldn't find one. After reading other reviews, this type doesn't seem to last more than two years. Unacceptable!

Can this timer turn on 2 separate 120v circuits at the same time?

Posée par: Mayate
It's got additional terminals to run to other loads, but best to ask Intermatic to make sure you don't overload the timer circuits.

This transformer was installed to power 2 outdoor pier lights. It's plugged in to an outdoor outlet, which I manually turn on and off by an indoor switch. Question: Can I change out the indoor switch to a dimmer/on/off to adjust the lighting outside?
Posée par: Vick
If you're turning off and on an outlet that is powering the unit, it will not keep accurate time. I suspect a dimmer will also impact its ability to keep accurate time.

I will be installing this time switch for outdoor security lights. It reads 40 amps but the lights that i am installing are on a 20 Amp breaker. The lights will not exceed more than 13 amps. Do i need to install a 40 amp breaker to support this timer?
Posée par: ChulaVista
No you don't, the timer is rated up to 40 amps and you can go anywhere from 40A and lower. Don't replace the breaker in the panel because that is your circuit protection.

Will 40amp 125volt timer work for powering the engine heater on my diesel truck. It will be mounted in the garage, the truck sits outside.

I don’t see why not as it cycles my pool pump a few hours each day…

I have a t101p3 currently that needs to be replaced. Which one would I use?
Posée par: joe
The Intermatic T101R appears to be a direct replacement for the T101P3 The T101R is for outdoor/indoor use, S.P/S.T. switching (one pole for 120V.) and with enough trippers can have 12 on/off intervals. It includes (2) trippers. The electrical load specs. are the same with both models. It is a direct replacement.
