However, the blue enamel paint has started to chip off the bottom of my oven. Nothing but soap and water used to clean. And we only use our oven about 3 times a week. Less than a year after installation the best KitchenAid can offer is to send some paint so we can "repair" it ourselves. If I had it to do over I would NOT purchase a KitchenAid OR a blue enamel oven. I've been baking for more than 40 years, have lived a lot of places and had a lot of ovens, but none as disappointing as this one. I will never buy another KitchenAid and unless you want to be extremely disappointed neither should you.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Disappointing We have always had Kitchenaid appliances, and we still do, but the convection ovens have a rather disappointing repair need. It breaks with too much steam (like roasting a turkey), when we clean it, when we use it more heavily (like baking Christmas Cookies) and this last time, it just cooled down and won't start again. When it works I love it.Our last home had one and it was repaired 3 or 4 times in 10 years. When our oven in our new home broke (it was a poor low-end brand) we went with the Kitchenaid again. That was May 2013. I am currently waiting for the repair guy to show up for it's 4th repair in the last 1 1/2 years. I wish there was a lemon law that would require replacing it.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Nothing special I really only needed a basic oven as I never use convection, programming, etc. but I wanted a wall oven and wanted the design to match my other new appliances. Was very disappointed and frustrated that this oven couldn’t even cook a frozen pizza well when my super cheap apartment oven did so perfectly. Had to buy an oven thermometer and needed to recalibrate this brand new expensive oven to be 20degrees hotter. Cool down fan is loud and stays on forever, annoying. Like the blue interior and the slide-out shelf. Doesn’t strike me as an oven I could rely on for high temp cooking with amazing results. Controls are not at all intuitive to me.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Fan noise is brutal (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) The oven does a great job on cooking but we had an issue with the circuit board blowing after we used the self clean mode for the first time. It built up too much heat causing the board to blow. They replaced the board under warranty & put in a set of retrofit fans to improve airflow so this wouldn't happen again. It did improve the airflow but now it sounds like we have a 747 jet in the kitchen from just regular cooking. When you turn the oven off, the fans stay on to dissipate heat until it gets down to a certain temp. The whole family can't wait until they shut off so we can talk normal. We leave the oven door open to shorten this time from about 15 min down to 5 min.

Rated 3 de 5 de par A problem with the failure of the self-cleaning feature I'm not certain I would recommend it to a friend for one--and only one--reason. After using the oven just once and having some cooking juices drip on the bottom surface and congeal there, we activated the self-cleaning feature. It failed to remove all of the congealed juices and nothing else we tried worked. We actually ran the self-cleaning cycle a second time for longer and a residue still remained, impervious to all efforts to clean it. Otherwise, the wall oven is very attractive and has all the features we wanted. Stylistically, it even blends beautifully with our Viking professional range.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Buyer beware Bought the oven in July. Nothing but problems. Repairmen sent give you the company line--it's you not the product. KitchenAid knows for a fact that these ovens have a temperature malfunction. KitchenAid and their retailers continue to sell a defective product. For example: it took two hours to bake a potato. Oven set at 350 degrees somewhere in the first hour temperature dropped to 305 degrees. But it's the customers fault. We had to reboot the oven to get it back to its correct temperature, but again its the customer at fault!

Rated 3 de 5 de par Looks great but...... Oven looks great in my new kitchen and seems to work well except for the venting of the hot air out of the bottom vent. Mine is installed under cabinet and the venting heats up my wood flooring to the point where it is VERY hot and I am worried it will damage the floor or start a fire. I limit my use of it because of this. I can't imagine what will happen when I try the self cleaning. I would like to speak to someone about this. my designer had all the specifications when we ordered the cabinets, there is plenty of room between the vent and the floor but it gets really hot. I would like to speak to someone to see if there is a way to redirect the venting to go straight out instead of down to the floor.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great Product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Brought this oven a month ago. Installed ourselves since the cabinet opening from our old Maytag oven was little wider than the overall dimension of this oven. Had to modify the opening to secure the new oven to the cabinet and cover the gap. The clear glass and internal light allows us to see inside better than our old one. The controls only require a light touch and the display is easy to see. The roll out rack is an awesome feature and makes it easy to insert and remove casseroles. Quieter than our old oven. Preheats at the same rate as our old oven. The beeper is plenty loud when in the high setting. Overall this oven was a great purchase.

can this oven be mounted under the counter in a cabinet

can this oven be mounted under the counter in a cabinet
Posée par: BK
CommunityAnswers why do you say no, the manufactured does state it can be when I looked into it. Do you have any info that you can share on why you stated no. I am wondering if there are undisclosed issues that haven't been shared that you may be aware of. Like overheating of the counter top or surrounding cabinetry and possibly discolor them, the fact it blows HOT air out the bottom vent that gets the floor so hot it will damage the flooring? That when you use self clean it overheats and blows the fuse in the control panel and has damaged cabinets . These are all thing I found on this ovens reviews on several websites after I asked my question , any more info that may of not been stated in your previous answer would be greatly appreciated !

I was baking an 18 lbs. turkey and the oven slides out of the wall when I was removing the baked turkey from the oven. The oven almost fell on the floor causing injuries. The wall opening matches the size of the oven. How can this be fit?

Posée par: Super888
See Use And Care Manual for oven. Page 18 has installation instructions. Top right of page has: 4. Securely fasten the oven to the cabinet using the #8-14 x 3/4" (1.9 cm) screws provided. There?s a drawing showing location of holes in side of oven.

My cabinet cutout is already 30-inches wide. Is there a trim piece that will cover the overcut?

Posée par: Bobby
Please click on the "Installation Guide" on this product page for detailed information and illustrations. The oven lip (inside the door) where the oven pushed up against the cabinet for mounting is just 30" wide, thus, that is the maximum cut out width the oven will cover.

Is this oven 19 inches deep to the convection fan housing or is it 19 inches deep to the back wall inside oven? I would like to be able to place two 19 inch pans side by side in oven.

Why are the instructions contradicting? The electrical requirements included say to use 8 gauge wire for double ovens, 12 gauge wire for single ovens. However, on the warning sticker attached to the 20 amp single oven we purchased it says to use 8 gauge wire.
Posée par: BDrew
My single oven (4kW, 20amp) has the same sticker on it saying "use 8 gauge copper wire." I believe this is a typo, or just default sticker they put on there, as my KitchenAid cook-top (40amp) has the same default label. The wiring on the back of the single oven is 12 AWG, however, which is a clue that this is the wiring you should use.
