Opened the plastic package, inserted batteries, turned onto ohmmeter, inserted probes into alligator clip attachments, clipped together red & black alligator clips - but nothing! Open circuit?! Pulled black lead out of alligator clip and found that the alligator clip attachment had come apart (a metal sleeve within the alligator clip attachment came out stuck to the probe) - not even the first use! I really can't say much for the quality of the rest of the meter but its not a great start and I purchased this model specifically because my application required these "handy" alligator clips. I'm going to return it before something else falls apart!

Rated 4 de 5 de par I think this multimeter is overkill for the average homeowner... I think this multimeter is overkill for the average homeowner like me but it included the case and had the higher drop resistance so I ordered it instead of the lower version. I actually got frustrated with it the very first time I used it. I was trying to see if some D cells were still good and I could not get a reading that made sense. I finally realized that the meter defaults to ACV and I had to select DC in order to read the batteries. It is not intuitive as it uses symbols instead of just saying AC or DC. As others have noted, the case could be better. It has no pockets and with the meter, the leads, thermocouple, adapter in there it is tight and not very secure.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Best Meter Purchase Great Meter for Electrician does everything I need and more! comes surrounded in molded rubber for protection It come with a pouch for storage and it will hold the temperature probe as well as the meter and leads. Easy to read and can be Backlit if needed for Dark locations. A Stand to hold upright is built in and has an accessory available for purchase that is magnetic with a hook to hang it ,so both your hands are free( if only it was available in the store). cant go wrong with this one!!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great multimeter A high quality meter for the price. The leads are well built and fit tightly when inserted all the way into the Sockets. Also comes with test clips and a storage case. Nice bright backlight. I use fluke meters at my work and this meter has the same quality look and feel at about half the price. I would definitely recommend this.

It handles all of the electronic measuring needs that I need. I initially bought it to test the capacitance of the dual run and start capacitors on my HVAC systems in my home and replace these myself instead of paying hundreds of dollars to have a tech do it. This unit far more then paid for itself in that one use as an HVAC tech wanted $655 to replace 4 capacitors on my aoir conditioners. I bought this excellent Klein MM600 and $130 for capacitors and saved over $450! Know what your doing first. This is excellent tool for the homeowner who knows how to take care of his own home or the professional who doesn't want to pay 3 times the price for a Fluke meter. Recommended product 5 stars.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Temp Reading Worthless Plugged in the K type thermocouple to compare to a temperature datalogger that I intended to use. 18 deg F off with observed polarity following the instructions. Checked against a liquid thermometer and yes indeed 18 deg F off. Not even close.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Ease of use and practicality make this a no braine [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, let me start by saying i have an extremely limited amount of knowledge when it comes to anything electrical. I can wire a receptacle, repair cords, and run wire to make stuff energized, but up until i bought this, i didnt even know the difference in AC and DC. I needed to do a pretty good amount of continuity and voltage tests on my vehicle due to it not starting, so i had to get a multimeter. Never owned one, never operated one, and sure as crap didnt know how to. I just knew that klein was pretty much the univeral go to brand for electric testing equipment. This was a higher end choice, without spending too much money, and after using it for about a month, im glad i went with it. I spent a day learning about it, all the functions, etc. and it has everything i needed. Its so easy to use, it doesnt make you second guess yourself, and you will have a lot of fun trying it out. Its one of those purchases that didnt keep me up at night wondering if i had spent too much money. 100% reccomend!

I have only used it a little but it seems to have more features for the money than most of the meters I looked at. I like the way it lights up so you can read the numbers as my vision is not so good lately. Please read the instructions first and always keep them around. Only a small problem is that it might be improved by having a sliding battery compartment door than the screw which gave me a little trouble getting out. None of my phillips head screwdrivers worked well with it. You should supply a small screwdriver with the meter made to turn the screw more easily. I tested my automobile battery voltage as well as several flashlight batteries. Look at the manual first to avoid mistakes.

I am testing voltage from a sprinkler controller, which when activated should read about 24 vAC. ...

I am testing voltage from a sprinkler controller, which when activated should read about 24 vAC. and when off should read 0. However, when the zone is off my meter is reading 11.69 vAC. I pulled out my old multi meter to test against and it reads 0 (.02). when I activate the controller it reads the appropriate 25 vAC. Can you tell me why? is it faulty? can I reset my meter or recalibrate or return for a new one??? it's the MM600
Posée par: Mack
I think you are seeing the result of a "less loading" meter. The controller uses a MOSFET for output, which would need to be operated under a load. Repeat your test with a valve coil connected to the zone and it will probably work.
