  1. Permet d'utiliser le mode de mesure 10x.
  1. Pour les prises de style nord-américain seulement.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Nice & compact, stays in the outlet. I bought this over the competition for several reasons, first... it's compact. Other line splitters have both 1x & 10X loops which make them bulky to carry around & sometimes hard to fit in tight spaces. The second reason is those double units are hard to keep in an AC outlet, they seem to fall out too easily. The third reason I bought the Klein was the name, Klein tools is a name I've trusted for many years. I've used this tool for figuring out current draw of different AC household items so I could figure out how large of a whole house generator I will need. Rated 4 de 5 de par If you bought an AC clamp meter that did not... If you bought an AC clamp meter that did not include one of these, buying this could be handy if you want to know how much power the appliances you plug into the wall use in the various modes they run in. As an example, I monitored the power of a portable air conditioner in cooling mode, fan-only mode, and dehumidifier mode. Power used is about one-tenth of maximum in cooling mode when the compressor is cycled off. I was surprised to see that power used in dehumidifier mode is always maximum, so I learned not to use that mode since it is not worth the power consumed. I like that the Line Splitter amplifies the current 10 times. So if you need to compare small currents, your meter can do a more accurate job of displaying the results.

This is the kind of tool, that once you own a clamp meter, you wonder how you ever did without it. It makes the measurement of both current and frequency far simpler and less intrusive than splitting wires, and repairing them. I found that measurements I wanted, but was loathe to take due to the cosmetic issue of cutting the insulation and/or wires and the hassle of splitting the lines, I now frequently do because it is so easy and non-intrusive. Although the literature with the tool does not mention it, this will measure both current and frequency. Frequency can be detected on a live circuit even if the device is not drawing current as well. The 10x reading has to always be remembered when selecting the range. The 120V water cooler plugged into the device shown in the picture went OL on the 4A setting of my Klein meter, but displayed nicely on the 40A and 400A settings. Be careful on precision assumptions. The same water cooler read 1.307A on the 40A range using the line splitter and 1.26A on the 400A setting a second later. The difference is less than a 1/10th of an amp. Putting the splitter in the case of my clamp meter was possible but tight. It would be nice if the case had a little more room to make it a bit easier, but it did fit and I always put the line splitter in the case as it is often used. It's very light, and although I've had this only 3 months, it's come in very handy on many occasions. It also seems quite durable. All in all, I highly recommend this tool for anyone with a clamp meter. I can't imagine not having it.

I ordered this Klein Tools Line Splitter to use with my Klein( CL600) Clamp meter. Although, I have only had this devise less then a month so far I find it works well, is very easy to use, comes with easy to understand instructions, and is a must have supplemental tool for any clamp meter. I really did not expect the splitter to be as big as it is which created a small storage problem when trying to keep it stored in the same case with the clamp meter. I managed to make it fit though. I would recommend Klein explore developing either a smaller splitter or a clamp meter storage case with inside pockets. I've been using the splitter to check amperage limits on home appliances to see if they are operating within required posted specifications.

Rated 5 de 5 de par This is a great tool for measuring the current draw... This is a great tool for measuring the current draw of normal appliances without having to cut open their cords. The other benefit is that this is a 10x multiplier. So you have to remember to move the decimal point one space when using this tool. However, it will let you get an accurate reading on some fairly small current draws by making them 10 times stronger than they are and that allows an actual reading (just move the decimal point one space to the left from what’s on the display to get the real reading).

I would recommend to an experienced electrician that's been doin electrical work for 20 years or a soccer mom that just wants to make sure she is going as green as she can get by making sure her appliance's aren't using to many amp things she read about in a magazine. Plus it's almost indestructible! All around one of the tools I wish I would of found along time ago. Get one!

Worked as expected, although I was initially puzzled that my amperage readings were 10x what I expected. Upon closer inspection I found a "10x" embossed on the product. It makes sense, but I would have thought they would have made it more obvious by package markings. But good, economical product.

Does this device measure the entire circuit or just the outlet it is plugged into? Meaning, if I have 10 duplex outlets on 1 circuit, will this device only measure what is being used on the one duplex outlet?

The Klein Tools model # 69409 Line Splitter assists in measuring the current draw of a connected load such as an electrical device or appliance up to 15A without splitting the device or appliances power cord.

How can the meter (in the ad picture) read 49.1 Amps?

Most standard electrical outlets are installed on 15 or 20 amp breakers and trip passed 80% of rated current. The Line splitter is only rated at 15 amps max. While the meter is certainly capable of reading that amperage, the line splitter would likely be destroyed.
Posée par: WallaceTheGreat1
Your probably clamped onto the ×10 part of the splitter or it only reads that way . This is used for low amperage so the meter can make an accurate reading. So if its reading 49.1a its actually 4.91a. I made the same mistake in my early years, hope this was helpful

The Line Splitter provides 10x measurement mode which means the Clamp meter will display 10x actual current, e.g. actual current of 1.5A will be displayed as 15A on the clamp meter when using the line splitter.

I need to measure the amperage of a hair drier that as soon as I plug it flips the braker. I thinks it draws more then 15A, maybe 20A or more. Will this work or is there another one or is better to buy a small extension cord and split the wires inside?

Posée par: jsmexusa
It sounds like your hair dryer definitely has a short in the heating element . If it trips a 20 breaker it's shorted. The tool would work fine if the hair dryer wasn't shorted.

Why doesn,t Home Depot sell the line splitters in the stores they sell the clamp meters? I live in Phoenix.

I think they would sell good along with the clamp meters.
Posée par: Jw
I have 6 Home Depot's within 45 min driving time from my house and they all carry different items, when I asked the store managers why, he said that different items sell better in one location than another & it's up to the store manger what to put on the shelves. Each store most likely has a limit as to how much inventory they can have on hand, so that might play into it as well.

Can this be used to measure in rush current? Are there any lines splitters rated for 20 AMPs? What would happen if I used this to measure beyond 20 AMPs?

Posée par: John
The Klein Tools 69409 Line Splitter separates hot from neutral and ground wires on standard 120-Volt outlets so that current measurements can be made with a current clamp. Without the Line Splitter, the current clamp measures the load current going in both directions, effectively cancelling the measurement. The Line Splitter has a standard measurement section and ten-times multiplier section for use with less accurate or higher ranged clamp meters.
