Rated 5 de 5 de par Bellwether 5 ft. Right Drain Cast-Iron Soaking Tub in White We purchased this cast iron tub to replace a 40 yr old (green) cast iron tub in our house. We have hard water and cast iron is easy to clean and lasts for years. The nice thing about this tub is that it's a little wider and water depth is deeper for soaking. There is about 4" lip all the way around that makes it easy to set things on. Installation wasn't difficult except that it is extremely heavy (298 lbs). You will need to get an extended faucet because of the slant of the tub and a longer overflow hookup. We purchased this online and picked it up and installed it ourselves. DIYer's... I'd do it again. And highly recommend this tub

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great tub! love it, love it, love it I got some flack for ordering a tub, "it's too much", "can't we just get a steel one?", etc, etc. But I persevered. Went modern contemporary for the bathroom remodel and this was perfect. No silly "swirls" on the side. Just classic, clean lines. The bathroom looks great, bath looks great, very happy! Although the guys that had to carry it did say it was heavy but they used a carpet dolly to bring it up the driveway.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Nice Tub but it's not really white.... Beautiful tub, wide ledges on sides, looks nice except it's not WHITE. Appears to be off white or cream color although tag code states it's white. Doesn't match the bathroom white sink or white toilet. Difficult to return to store as it weighs 298 lbs.

Rated 2 de 5 de par disappointing quality We received our first Bellwether tub in a sad state. It was not well crated, filthy and visibly chipped on the perimeter. touch ups would take care of the perimeter chipping....but upon cleaning the tub before heaving up a flight of stairs, I found numerous cracks in the glaze and significant orange peel in the finish. Fingers crossed the second one arrives quickly with far better quality of production and delivery.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Awesome Tub Could not be happier with this purchase. The tub arrived ahead of schedule and was well packaged. The tub was undamaged and the only problem was the weight (cast iron is just plain heavy but this is what you are paying for). Great tub!

The tub is shaped weirdly so the water pouring out of the faucet doesn't go straight down into the water like any other tub I've ever owned. No idea why they did this but it doesn't seem to hurt anything. (A better picture gallery would probably reveal this detail to buyers--current one does not.)

Staff advised to reorder with home delivery instead of store and request tub be wrapped to protect surface. Sale was lost, went with a different brand at different store due to time crunch.

We are not understanding the difference between the Bellweather that costs $586 and $786 (other than the price). Can you help us understand the features and benefits of the more expensive model? Thank you !!

I bought the Bellweather model that costs $786.00 because it has the deeper soaking depth. Check out the dimensions and you’ll see that it’s slightly wider and deeper and also holds more gallons of water. I love this tub! It’s beautiful. Only downfall is that the drain part of the tub curves outward so I couldn’t use the original delta tub and shower trim kit that I loved. I had to pick out a Kohler tub and shower trim kit which was a bit more expensive . Overall I’m very happy with the purchase .

Is it true that you need a 7 inch spout for this tub. I had read that the tub was redesigned and am wondering if this constraint was addressed. It would be helpful to have the choice of a shorter spout. Also, for the 30" bellwether, what size spout would I need. Thanks!

Yes, a 7”+ spout is required due to the slope of the tub front at the overflow drain location. I tried a 5”, but the flow stream was directed at the overflow assembly splattering water about the tub front not to mention water loss down the overflow. This is good information to know when deciding on which tub/shower valve trim kit as not all brands/styles offer a 7”+ matching spout! I purchased/installed this tub less than a year ago so uncertain as to any mentioned redesign. The upside to the design is that it allows room for drain pipe installation/options and gives the plumber room to work on the underside/front. We love this tub. Great Kohler quality & HD had the right price.

Drain kit needed

I see some reviews suggesting there are problems with drain kit. What drain kit and any other accesories are recommended for this bathtub?

We bought the recommended drain plug that has the turn knob, we just push down bathtub value to ensure it seals good . Yes the plug is different but the bath water pressure keeps it shut. The tub is extremely heavy, took three young dudes to bring it into the house and place it in the correct position on my remodel.
