Rated 4 de 5 de par Not Bad for the price If you don't have a budget of $1500 for a trendy frameless shower door, this product will give your shower place an"updated" look and a functioning show door for just 1/3 of the cost. The installation instruction is clear and the hardware are shrinked wrapped on a chipboard with description next to each size so you know exactly which hardware the instruction refers to. I was able to put it up by myself although it is recommended for 2 people. The only complaint I have is the #8-18 x 3/4" flat head allen screws used to secure the door jam (or the strike jam) are not well made where the hex socket is too shallow and get stripped easily. I ended up having to call Kohler to send me more of these screws because I need to adjust the width multiple times and half of the screws were messed up. Also the width of the door specified is actually widest you can get (barely). You can only adjust narrower, not wider. I first ordered the #702412 37 3/4" thinking I could adjust it upto 39" opening but later found out that I have to order the next model #702414 39" in order to fit the 39" wall to wall opening of my show place and it is really a stretch to reach 39".

While I think the shower door was easy enough to install (recommend 2 people), there was some headache using the included allen head screws of which 4 out of 8 were defective. It would seem obvious that for a $500 dollar door that weighs almost 70lb you would include good screws which don't strip out the moment you try to install them with the included allen wrenches. Other than having to replace those screws with my own, it came out really nice.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Easy installation - Nice frameless door I bought this online and it was delivered in a timely fashion but the box was not handled with care since it had dents and holes but most of the pieces were intact except for the door threshold sealer which had bent. I would blame it on the shipping vendor that homedepot picked, they really did not take good care of the box. But the good thing is Homedepot compensated me for the damaged parts/send me the new part and also waive the shipping cost. I like their customer service. The door itself was contemporary sleek looking and is very easy to install for someone like me who is a novice at these things. If you have Ceramic tiles then buy some bits from homedepot's tile section for just that purpose, aside from drilling holes on ceramic tiles the rest of the job will take you hardly an hour to install and caulk. As one says "you can do it!" :-)

Rated 4 de 5 de par Good Product - Looks Good This door replaced a cheaper Sterling framed door that kept sagging. Being framless, I don't see it sagging and the latching mechanism is 100% better than the cheaper model. It was worth the money and time. The door looks good and installed easily. Had it shpped from Home Depot to my house. It was MUCH cheaper for the same door vs the other big box home improvment stores enven including the shipping.

I spent half what it would have cost elsewhere for the custom size of my shower opening and I love the look of the door.

Assembly can be a little quirky if walls/tile are not square and plumb, so check your measurements everywhere and make adjustments as needed. I had to reset the frame and hinge side. Having a helper is definitely a good thing too.

My shower place tile wall to tile wall opening is 39". Will this fit?

Thank you for your Inquiry. This door will not fit into your opening. The next size up which would be Model # 702414-L-SH. fits 37 1/2" to 39".

I have a 37.50 opening. The 702412 and the 702414 would both work BUT which would be better? The one with the least adjustability required as in the 702414 which says its 37.50 to 39? Or the 702412 which ranges 36.25 to 37.75?

Door Space

I am reading conflicting info for this door, eg: * Max opening is 37 3/4", minimum opening is 36 1/4". They have the next model of 702414 for maximum opening of 39", minimum 37 1/2". * This door fits an opening of 39" to 42: and measures 72" tall. Am I just not reading it correctly or can you tell me what is the max/min required opening to put this in.

Thank you for your inquiry. The K-702412-L-MX will not fit your 40-1/2" opening. Kohler would recommend the K-702013-D3 (offered in SH-Bright Siler or BN -Brushed Nickel).This door fits an opening of 39" to 42: and measures 72" tall. The D3 is our frosted glass.
