Rated 5 de 5 de par Nice Lighting Effect I bought this because it was recommended for the lamps that I purchased on-line. Normally, I am not swayed by add ons - I buy only what I want or need; however the idea of dimming the bedroom lamps that I purchased seemed like a nice effect and as it turns out it really is quite nice. At night I like to put the light very low and since I bought lamps that are very very bright this dimmer allows me to bring the lights way down. I was worried that the control would not be attractive on my new nightstand, but it is really fairly small and does not bother me. I am happy that I made this purchase.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Well designed. Unobtrusive. Works great. A light dimmer. It plugs into the wall and you plug the light into it. It must be within easy reach so you can adjust the brightness of the light. So you have the lamp cord plugged into this thing on your desk which has its own line cord going down to the outlet. What a mess! Right? Wrong! Lutron designed the Credenza dimmer with a special outlet for the lamp as part of the Lutron 120-volt plug. All cords are out of sight. Great design!

Rated 5 de 5 de par USING BUT NOT AS PLANNED This dimmer was pictured as "order me too" with the natural daylight floor lamp that I purchased (two, in fact). However, disappointingly, the dimmer did not work with the unique bulb type in the floor lamp so I am using it quite successfully with a large portable table fan...it turns it on/off and changes speed smoothly so I can remotely control it across the room. Just set the pitch and rotation, and the fan is good to go. I'm sure this dimmer has other useful applications, too. So, I'm not disappointed after all.

Rated 5 de 5 de par I love this thing! I have both bedside lamps plugged into this dimmer. I like being able to turn on both lamps simultaneously with one switch (using an adapter). Plus, in the morning I can slowly brighten the lamps as I wake up. I've been using this dimmer for several years with no problems. It's small and barely noticeable on my nightstand behind the phone. So glad I bought it.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Convenient but two have already failed One failed after about 1 year. The second failed after about 4 months. **Why doesn't Lutron just make a high quality product with durable parts, instead of making one which actually SELLS for $8 retail?!! That means that the parts are horrible and this is a DISPOSABLE product, not a practical in-home tool which can last several years (3yrs life would be nice). Not to mention how much garbage it produces every time someone throws a dead one in the trash and buys a new one!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Lutron Dimmer Works very well. Nice small size for table top and slider is easy to adjust. Been using two for 6 months with no problems.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Awesome Dimmer Switch! Our Family loves these dimmer switches! We have them on the lamps in our children's rooms, as we feel it is safer than them reaching up on their tip toes. This way they are no where near the glass bulb at the top of the lamp, and I do not have to worry about them knocking over the lamp when turning it on. It is also very easy for them to dim the light when in bed and want to read a little before falling asleep....

Rated 4 de 5 de par It slides & it works The length of the cord is more than enough for most needs. I have a three-socket floor lamp plugged into it. The top does get rather warm after a very short while of being on; I have no idea if there's a direct correlation between the total Watts of the bulbs and this effect. I keep the dimmer at about the midpoint for most of the time the lamp's on. The heat intensity isn't enough to burn you, but I wouldn't hold it in my hand with closed palm for very long. I've had it for such a short duration that I hesitate to give it an excellent rating on any attribute. I may get another one, if I get a certain table-top lamp.

Can this plug act as an extension for the Lutron Caseta smart home bridge? The bridge only goes 30 ft and I need to jump farther then that. Or can another actual dimmer switch be the jump point?
Posée par: Roxane
Use the dimmer extension cord for the market lights on my screen enclosed patio. I am very satisfied with it.

Can this be used with the lutron hub to talk to alexa or siri?

Posée par: NL
The TT-300H is not a smart device and would not pair with the Caseta Smart Bridge. Instead, Lutron recommends using the PD-3PCL and Pico remote as these will pair with the Caseta Smart Bridge.

Is there a dimmer available to install on a SPT-1 lamp cord?

I bought a model LC-300 to install on our accent lamp used on a large painting. During the install process I noticed it was to be used only on a SPT-2 cord. Our lamp has a SPT-1 cord. What options do I have?
Posée par: confused
Any dimmer should work with SPT1. SPT1 and SPT2 are basically the coating on the wires of your cord, SPT2 being more commercial grade than SPT1. SPT2 is more for extreme cold weather although both are suitable for indoor/ outdoor applications depending on the extremity of your weather.

can I use this with my christmas tree lights... string along light?

can I plug a power strip that has my Christmas tree lights plugged into it?
Posée par: BigAl
Yes if they are incandescent or dimmable LED. If they are the old fashioned C7 bulbs (5 watts per bulb) you have to add up your wattage not to exceed 300 watts per dimmer. I use them on my old C6 bulbs (where if one burns out the whole string goes out) and I rarely ever have to replace a bulb since I lower them enough to be cool to the touch. The picture is of the C6 bulbs at this particular setting and you can see they are still bright enough.

Can this be used to control a ventilation fan?

I have a ventilation fan similar to http://www.homedepot.com/p/NuTone-80-CFM-Ceiling-Mount-Exhaust-Bath-Fan-684NT/100066718 It is plugged into a switched AC outlet in the ceiling. I would like to insert this switch to control the fan independently of the outlet switch - will the dimmer circuit support this device or should I use an on-off switch instead?
Posée par: Nic
The problem with using any dimmer with a fan is you risk ruining the fan motor over time. You have to be careful not to lower it too much so that the fan barely operates. The fan motor should make a kind of moaning sound if it's been lowered too much. It also depends on the wattage use of the fan. If the fan is more than 300 watts which is not likely for a corded fan with a plug, then you will burn up the dimmer.
