Rated 5 de 5 de par This Belt Sander is an Animal! I bought this to replace an old craftsman. In a word, this belt sander is an animal. I just finished a exterior door restoration project which required the sander to run continuously for ~30 minute stretches. It is extremely well balanced, powerful, and heavy enough to truly "let the tool do the work". I did not have to apply any downward force to get the job done.

Is it easy to change belts and do any come with belt sander?

Is it easy to change belts and do any come with belt sander?
Posée par: Stephen
yes it is, flip the lever the wheel retracts then pull the old belt out when you put the new belt on it will slide in place pretty easy, just don't jam it in there. Yes it comes with a belt on the sander, or at least mine did

Can this be used on a 70’s style wooden accent wall & smoothing an old ceiling that has currently popcorn ceiling.

Does this tool work well for in-between details in wood.
Posée par: RookieCarpenter
It should work fine on the accent wall but you would then need to move to an orbital or finish sander. It would be to aggressive for the plaster on a popcorn ceiling. It is also pretty heavy to work overhead for long periods of time.

Which grit is coarsest?

Posée par: DEHH
60 grit is rougher than 80 which is rougher than 100 and so on... smooth might be 220 and in some applications even higher.

Would this sander be good for removing paint from a deck?

Would this sander be good for removing paint from a deck?
Posée par: NikeGolf
There are better more efficient ways to remove paint than with a sander. I recommend you talking to a local professional paint store for recommendations. Of course, the condition of the paint and the material under the paint will be important factors to consider. Most deck are made from softer wood and after they age, rain and sun tend to make them even softer. A Sander can do serious damage to the wood and quickly. Also, belts tend to clog up with paint. Unlike wood, it doesn't powder and blow away. The heat from the belt friction tends to melt it. You can go through a lot of belts before completing the project, depending on how big an area you are doing, Good Luck
