Rated 5 de 5 de par works well with good shop vac & filter Hooked it up to 14 gallon 6.5 peak HP shop vac with liner and really good filter, did not have much sanding dust. I used to do the first passes and knock down the higher bumps and ridges and then switched to a sanding sponge because the 120 grit sanding mesh was leaving some small grooves/lines. I was doing a flat wall finsh (no texture) so needed it smooth. Maybe a finer grit or sanding mesh that was more wore out would have helped. I have a bunch more to do so will experiment with other sanding mesh to see if I can further reduce the use of a sanding sponge. It was sometimes a big awkward to manuever. I was happy with the product, it did reduce the sanding dust.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Best Tool Investment I was skeptical of other highly touted reviews. But this product is the best!! There is NO dust whatsoever, you don't need a mask to work, even overhead. The swivel end on the handle makes keeping the hose out of the way a snap. I have used it with the suction control wide open, it truly will not move with full suction. This model is slightly more expensive than others, but the extra features are worth it. I also purchased the shop vac dust bags and my filter is completely clean. No stopping to blow out the filter constantly. I would recommend this to anyone doing drywall, it's a huge time and effort saver!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Does the job This product performed as advertised. I used this units vaccuum power level on maximum suction (it is adjustable, less suction would give you more dust I assume, but easier to sand), I hate drywall dust. The suction was so great it would hold product to wall with no hands (using a wet/dry vac), making it a little more difficult to move back and forth to sand. The hose is also a little restricting when sanding as well as moving the vac around. This is a small price to pay however. When I was finished sanding the 3' X 5' area there was barely any evidence I had worked there, amazing results. If you are in an area that low or no dust is a must and you are willing to sacrifice a little in the "ease of use" department then this product is for you, highly recommended.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Wow!! Exceeded expectations!! Dust free DW sanding!!! Very comfortable and convenient handle design. Has a "suction" adjustment that is very handy. I use it with my Rigid 4 gal shop vac with "high efficiency" dust bags. Really works well. No dust at all and, the suction is so strong it actually helps to apply pressure as you sand, actually making sanding easier. I knocked out two rooms of drywall sanding (80 grit) with zero dust, no clean up afterward and did it super fast. 6 ft hose is short but, I can barely reach the top of an 8' ceiling so, it's sufficient. Highly recommended, well worth the money. Obviously, use sanding screens, not paper and, use a HE dust bag in your shop vac for super easy clean up.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Sanding almost a pleasure...almost We just bought/moved into a foreclosure during the holidays. The previous owner was in the middle of doing renovations. He sure loved to slapping compound all over the walls, but didn't care so much for laying it on thin or sanding it down at all. I had a hefty sanding task ahead of me and knew it would be a nightmare. I tried a powered orbital sander and it left an awful mess. Not to mention the wife wasn't too happy with dust all over. Manual sanding was still going to be dusty so I searched for a solution and found this. I originally say another brand at the other chain, but it's reviews were bad. This one had good reviews so I went for it. It's great. It sucks up nearly all the dust. I only have to worry about the film that's left on the wall. That's far much better than piles on the floor for the cats to track around. Attached to my 6.5 HP blower/vac, this thing simply works. It clings to the wall all on its own! I'm enjoying sanding much more now...almost too much..almost. At least I'm getting my honey-do list trimmed down. Okay, who am I kidding, I'm making room on the list for other things.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Captures Most Drywall Dust I am quite pleased with this accessory. It fits on my shop vac perfectly and catches most of the dust created during the sanding of the drywall. So far I have used the vacuum sander for a couple of hours, but I will be using it extensively as I finish drywalling the room above our garage. As others have suggested, be sure to purchase the appropriate filter for your shop vac.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Not flat!!!! The sander was not flat at all. All four corners were proud of the rest. It was cupped in both directions. Saw another review with same complaint. He used belt sander to make it flat. Lame. Another issue is it seams about 1/4" too long and the threaded studs for the clamps are too short. Makes it difficult to install screen. I returned it. Went to buy the MASTERFORCE unit at Menards. Half the price of this Marshalltown system but has the same flatness issue. So, I guess it doesn't matter. I didn't buy that one either.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Keeps things clean and the wife happy This does a great job for me when sanding. The unit swivels 360 and easily hooks up to my 8 gallon ShopVac. I am using a Hepa filter and a bag for collecting drywall dust and I have virtually no dust flying around anywhere. The sander is light and made of hard plastic and has a comfortable grip. It is easy to find a good holding position. It lets you change sanding screens very easily. I like the sliding vacuum pressure adjustment. The week before I bought it, I was covered in dust every time I sanded. Now I've been sanding a 20'x20' room for about an hour or so and can't believe how clean I still am. It makes my wife happy and that makes me happy. It may be a little awkward moving around with a 6 ft hose, but it saves you time and money with cleanup. My only regret is I didn't buy it sooner.

If I have several layers of paint that I need to sand on top of drywall first will this work for getting through the paint?

Posée par: Hannah
This is a great tool. You need two levels of screen one med to coarse one fine. After you you use this you have to do 120 sandpaper.

Does this dry wall vacuum have the bag to catch the dust in

Posée par: Danl
No this is not a vacuum but rather an attachment for a ship vacuum. Thus, your shop vacuum will collect the dust.

How well does this tool work for ceilings?

Posée par: Pierre
TLDR: Must buy for any size drywall project. Keeps drywall dust from messing up house. Duct tape hose to shop vac hose for additional length. Saves precious time! Will have to clean shop vac filter periodically. Regardless of ceiling or wall, I would highly recommend it. When used with a shop vaccum it sucks up 99.9% of the drywall dust and saves precious time you would otherwise spend cleaning the drywall dust from the ground and whatever else it has covered. In my experience I had to attach my hose to my particular shop vac hose to get the needed length. The attachment was also slightly bigger than the shop vac connection so I wrapped some duct tape around it to make a seal. The one negative aspect would be having to clean the filter of the shop vac periodically, as the small dust particles will clog it eventually. Otherwise the suction is strong enough to have the sander 'stick' to the wall for easy adjustment. Also there will be small amounts of dust not caught in the hose. But nothing to lose sleep over. One slightly annoying thing is having to remove the hose to use the shop vac for actual vaccuming. Make sure you (depending on the size of your job) you have an adequate amount of duct tape. It's really easy to change out the drywall screens. The handle design is very useful. I eventually settled on a grip that was comfortable with how I sanded the wall/ceiling. I've been using mine for a few months now and I would never sand a wall or ceiling without it. I am currently renovating my bathroom and never had to clean the floor because of drywall dust. Hope this helps!
