Rated 3 de 5 de par Need improvement/ design flaw I bought this a year ago and had similar issue as per some of the negative reviews. Since it was designed to be used outdoors, wind is a problem as well as the burner is too low and there is a wastage of gas as it won't work on low setting. I considered returning it but after comtemplating other model/design on the market, I realize that the burner is much too low. I raised the burner to about 3 inches and now it works like a charm on both low and high settings. There is no more wastage of heat as before.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Not as good as older models I have 5 of these dating back years. The metal is now thinner. The design no longer allows you to use smaller pots as the tines bend down. It may as well not be painted as it burns and gives of nasty fumes on first use. Also would be nice if there was some indication that the regulator had a low-flow mode. That killed a few hours of my time. Heat (when it was working) is ummatched. Thats why 3 stars. Still the best option out there....just an example of cheap materials in our modern age. I would pay double for the unit they built years ago. Still rock solid

Rated 2 de 5 de par Design lacking The slightest breeze will blow the burner out. The burner is set too low so the gas must be set on high to get the flame to the pot and as a result a 20 pound tank is empty in no time at all. After a minor adjustment and raising the burner to within 2 inches of the pot bottom I could turn the gas down and run a tank for almost 16 hours. The number of jets (individual flames) is overkill in my view. Perhaps fewer flames and smaller ports would make it work better. My very small barbecue side burner works better although does not throw as many BTU per hour but almost never blows out.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Works but... It works well and is frugal on gas but the height needs to be adjustable. The burner is too far down from the pot. I propped the burner up on two bricks to get better contact with the pot, but I should not have to do this, that's why I gave it 3 stars rather than 5.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Works Great but Could be Better The burner is very heavy and should last a long time and the frame is very solid. It also puts out a lot of heat and functions fine but holes in bracket supplied did not line up and paint burned off support bars on first use. It still does the job but the holes in the bracket needed to be drilled out.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Solid Rig Some paint burned off on the first use but that’s to be expected. Works very well for making beer in the backyard even during Canada’s frigid winters. The people complaining about efficiency should just put up a wind blocker, problem solved. ✌️

Rated 5 de 5 de par Best burner on the market This is my second of this type. The support pot arms eventually broke off and the pot was sort of unstable. I had it ten years so decided to get new one. I tried two others from different places and they were useless. This item is as good as it gets. I use it for cooking plant material for pressure canning.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Good compromise between quality and price. Its functional, the price is good. It's made of thin sheet metal folded together, so it doesn't give you a sense of long-term durability. The pot supports are the same thickness (thinness) as the rest of the unit, so they are sufficient but not super confidence inspiring. I melted about 30 pounds of lead on this, and the entire thing was strong enough to hold all the weight no problem, so although the material seems kinda thin, it took more weight than I think anyone would ever put on with a pot of water or any group cooking needs. Big plus it comes with a hose to connect to a propane tank.

Just wondering if the unit is solid enough to safely support a 64 litre canning pot (about 140 lbs when full)?

Posée par: JGreg
Hello, The unity is very strong, you can even stand up on it. The only very important thing is to make sure that everything is well balanced.

What is the diameter of the actual burner. I need to replace a burner on a similar appliance but I only have room for a 10” diameter burner.

Posée par: Mike350
Hello, The burner description: 7" diameter and 15" 3/4 length. It can bought separately at one of our distributors but not Home Depot. You can check with Home Hardware or BMR depending on where you are located. Mario Dubuc Customer service representative

My dog chewed the hose and Im having trouble finding a new hose that fits. What is the orifice side pipe/thread size? Cant find one that goes into the burner. Thanks

Posée par: Timo
Orifice would be pipe thread but that a special fitting, best thing would be to buy a new hose regulator. If any trouble finding the part please call 450-641-3048
