Rated 5 de 5 de par Replace your grill and smoker! You can bake, smoke, or grill, this thing is fantastic! Much quieter than pellet smokers and you can have as little or as much smoke as you like. Highly recommend.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Damaged and Faulty I was excided to get the 1050 but I was very disappointed when I started putting it together. the first issue I noticed was the lid to the chimney was not screwed in all the way. I tried tightening the screws but they were stripped. After building the rest of the grill I tried inserting the drip tray but the tracks were bent out of place. I had to bend them back with pliers. All of the damage seems to have come from manufacturing because it was packaged really well and the box was in good shape when it arrived. The next issue is the promotional material they put all over the grill. Most of it came off easily but the one on the side shelf gave me a lot of trouble. I was not able to get it off without getting scratches all over the shelf. What is the reason for putting promotional material all over the product I already purchased?! I finally got it all built and working so I tried turning it on and connecting it to the Android app. I can not get it connected to wifi at all and it does not look like I am alone in this. The app is also limited in features. It does not tell you if there is an error with the grill. It only gives you temp and time alerts. I was looking forward to the app because it meant I did not have to sit by the smoker all day but it doesn't look like I will be so lucky. My final issue is that the grill completely shuts off randomly in the middle of cooks. I am still trying to troubleshoot the app and the random shutoffs. I hope I can get everything working as advertised but so far I am disappointed in the amount of work it has taken to get the grill functioning.

Rated 5 de 5 de par The Perfect Outdoor Cooker? I wanted to get back into smoking and did a ton of research. I looked at pellet grills, offset, and these gravity series smokers. I was looking for something convenient and easy that would produce a quality smoke flavor. That is why I settled on the gravity charcoal smoker. It is very easy to get going and it manages temps really well. I've now cooked brisket, ribs, steaks, pork shoulder, chickens(thighs and whole), chuck roast, and everything has turned out pretty good. There is a bit of a learning curve but that was more about which charcoal to use vs the smoker function. I can get get about 7 hours on a full chute of briquettes at 225. I've also found it does a pretty good job of snuffing out the coals once I am done with a cook. I haven't tried the griddle yet but what a great option. Overall, this smoker has been fantastic and I've enjoyed the easy process and the excellent smoke flavor.

It works great... but it IS a bigger pain in the butt than a pellet smoker. and in fact, I find that this doesnt put out nearly as much smoke as a pellet smoker does, so I have to augment with one of those tubes you put pellets in. On the plus side, it grills and sears way better than a pellet smoker... and it is absolutely true that it can go from low temp to 700 degrees very quickly.

Rated 5 de 5 de par It does is all! I’ve had it about a month and everything so far has come out fantastic! My experience is mostly with the Weber kettle and the pit barrel cooker. This thing brings that same type of charcoal cooking but with a lot easier control.

Rated 4 de 5 de par So far I like it! So far I like the grill. You do have to test the temperature at different points in the grill as it isn't consistent across the grill. But I am getting use to cooking on it.

Can the coal be held and lit directly under the grill area as well? Or is it only lit in the firebox on the side with the smoke blown into the main chamber? Wondering if I can directly grill over burning charcoal when I’m not smoking.

Posée par: Umr7
No you cant have the charcoals directly under the grill area. But considering you reach 700F with the coals being in the firebox, I dont think its an issue for searing. I love mine

What are the dimensions of the main grill & why does the mfg and the retailer make it so hard to find information like this??? Total grill space is great but without dimensions how would you know if it the grill is big enough for a full size brisket?

Posée par: grill1234
It is more than big enough for a full size brisket. Simple math would help you figure that out based on the 560sq. Inches

Does it always consume all of the charcoal in the hopper? How does snuffing out the fire works?

Posée par: MarcP
No, it is designed to allow the charcoal to remain in the grill between uses. To snuff it out, you'll power the unit down. push your air slides back in place, ensure the hopper lid and ash door are closed and it will snuff itself out.
