Rated 5 de 5 de par The Milwaukee 15/32" TiN Shockwave Drill-bit performed well above my expectations. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Milwaukee 15/32” TiN Shockwave Drill bit when I constructed a LED lighting effects panel. The 26 toggle switches with half-inch shanks required mounting in wood panel, stainless steel plate and aluminum chassis locations. I had previously measured and pre-drilled 7/64” pilot holes at the places for the switches. I was pleased with the way the Shockwave Drill self-fed through the different materials without noticeable wobble. The precise machining of the hex shaft kept the bit steady and sure-running as the work progressed. The resulting holes were a close fit for the switch shanks with minimum burring or splintering on the exit sides of the holes. This type of bit performs well above my expectations and will be my first choice when shopping for drills.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Yeah...nope. Stays sharp longer because it cannot cut thru what it says, won't dull down if it's not cutting. In all seriousness, I had high hopes since it was Milwaukee. I was drilling some metal on my car. I used a low speed cordless drill and drill oil. It just scratched the surface. I chose this bit because i also failed with the Milwaukee Cobalt (same issues). Then i tested an ancient black oxide bit that my Dad had, and it went right thru. I was shocked! So i decided to try this bit next thinking maybe the Cobalt had an issue, but nope. My Dad ended up digging out some more ancient bits of his and they worked fine. I still didn't get the hole I needed, but my Dad's bits got me close enough. How is it that a modern $31 Titanium bit fails (as well as the $40 Cobalt) but ancient black oxide worked??!! I would have loved had this bit worked, but alas

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great For Cutting Metal [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this bit to cut a hole in 1/8" steel. I first used my impact driver to cut the hole. I didn't use a pilot hole to start with. I just drilled the hole with this bit. It did not wander around. It stayed right where I placed it. I didn't baby it drilling. I pressed down hard and it got hot enough to smoke the wood block I had placed under the steel I was drilling. I noticed the hole was not perfectly round, but was approximately 15/32". I attributed this to using the impact driver. I then tried drilling another hole using my standard drill. I again pressed down hard enough to heat the bit, but it quickly drilled through the steel. Again the hole was slightly misshapen. I could not tell any difference in how fast the hole was drilled using either drill or impact driver. I found it very interesting that the drill bit didn't show any obvious wear.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Spendy but impressive I assumed the hardened steel I needed to drill would require several bits to do the job so I bought more than one. Knowing I had spares I hit it hard with the first one. I mean it was borderline tool abuse but to my suprise, the first one finished the entire job and is still almost as sharp as when I started.

I purchased this because the ½” dowels I picked up measured under ½” and the ½” bit I originally purchased was larger than ½” in diameter. This bit produced a lot of tear out of the grain. I got it for doing a pinned dowel joint on a bed frame, so it made a mess of the face grain.

Perform a test hole to ensure (particularly in wood) the end result is a cleanly drilled hold without splintering the wood with which your working.
