Rated 5 de 5 de par Great ! I am a professional auto mechanic of 16 years. After my trusty air ratchet took a dump I decided to try and find a comparable battery model. Looking at the offerings of tool truck brands I decided on this Milwaukee based mainly on the speed. 250rpm compared to 150-175rpm of others and the torque rating of 30 ft/lb (I won't even mention the price difference over tool truck offerings!). This ratchet is as fast and as strong as the air ratchet it replaced. The torque limiting function took a bit to get use to. It just stops dead. No kick back or twisting your hand into sharp things. And while it's probably not recommended, I have used it to break bolts lose with no ill effect. I have used it daily for over a month. The battery last through several jobs and recharges in a reasonably quick amount of time.

Rated 3 de 5 de par OK for the price but not recommended for the warranty policies. Unable to register on purchase we... OK for the price but not recommended for the warranty policies. Unable to register on purchase website states not needed will use date code if no receipt provided. Serial number which has a portion used for date code gets wiped out from normal use under one year and only other warranty possible is with receipt if they can't read it on the tool (included box with serial number not sufficient). Mine lost it's socket retention ball at one year old (no abuse) and no help from company except pay for repair. Suggest scanning receipt when purchased and remove Milwaukee sticker off of tool and store to preserve serial number(date code) for warranty purposes. No five years as advertised for me though.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Milwaukee cordless 1/4" ratchet I really like my cordless ratchet. It has enough power to get the job done, spins nuts & bolts quickly and relatively quietly. It's nice to not have an airline attached to a powered ratchet, and this one has a light that no pneumatic ratchet has. A nice feature of the Milwaukee is the light stays on for about 10 seconds after operation, unlike some electric drivers where the light is only on when squeezing the trigger. Minor downsides: It is a bit larger than I wanted, it won't get into very tight spaces like a pneumatic 1/4" can, and the body is big if you have small hands. However, no airline is a big bonus, especially for underdash work in automotive repair. I'm an ASE Master, L1 certified auto mechanic for 25 years, and I can tell a quality tool when I use one and I recommend this ratchet if you need something like this. I can see how I could use it in many ways around the house also.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Completely useless I purchased the 1/2 socket with 60 lb of torque. Then I returned it for the 3/8. I was hoping that one of these renches would be able to reach Rusty bolts in tight spaces. In both cases they were not eat able to reach bolts that were very Rusty or unable to deliver enough torque to free the bolts. When I secured of the socket on to the Bolt head the tool simply did nothing but humm. the only purpose for such a tool that I can imagine will be to remove bolts that are Rusty and difficult to reach. In both cases they were completely inadequate. I can't imagine a purpose for these tools they are completely really useless. Do not buy them

Rated 5 de 5 de par M12 1/4 in ratchet I am a professional mechanic I use the tool many times per day . Very impressed , almost as much power as my $350 snapon 1/4 in air ratchet but much easier to use , no air hose , and the light is really usefull. Holds a charge for a couple of days and rechages quickly. I have a couple of M12 tools that I use every day they are all great.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Flawless! I work as an automotive technician. I saw this tool from a guy I work with. Really liked it, and after watching him use it I had to have it. The very next day after I bought it I had to do a timing belt job. It made my job so much easier!!! Now every car mechanic has an air 1/4 ratchet....however no air hose AND the fact that the tool head is slim is great. There's also a lock In case you have to squeeze in a tight place without it spinning on you. This tool is worth every cent of your hard earned money. Had for a few weeks now with no issues. Battery life is good too. Also has a battery life bar that lights up as well as a little spot light. Both work after hitting the trigger. If you touch lightly, it will light the area without the head spinning. This is a must have!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Buy 2 of these This is the best cordless ratchet out there. It also has a rated 50lb torque head ratchet for busting things loose. The only draw back is for super tight areas it is a little big, but that is only about 5% of the time. If you are a busy professional buy 2 1/4 drives because they are not exspensive and you have a back up. The 3/8 drive is good as well but still only has a 50lb torque ratchet head.

Rated 5 de 5 de par This is a battery powered 1/4" ratchet wrench. The wrench has enough power to extract most bolts ... This is a battery powered 1/4" ratchet wrench. The wrench has enough power to extract most bolts and nuts that will fit into a 1/4" drive socket (i.e., 5mm to 13 mm or 1/4" to 1/2" sockets). If electric power will not break the nut or bolt free, the manual ratchet will do the job. Electric power is normally adequate to take the bolt or nut off once it is freed. Naturally, the wrench usually has a problem freeing larger nuts and bolts (i.e., 14mm, 15mm, 9/16" and 5/8" sockets), but it has enough power to move the nuts and bolts once they are free. The 3/8" version of this tool has more power, but the head with a 3/8" to 1/4" adapter and socket is too long to access many areas. My primary complaint is physical size. This ratchet is bigger than an air powered wrench. That is, this wrench is longer and larger in diameter. Given that the motor has plenty of power; a smaller model should be possible. I compare this wrench to my electric toothbrush and believe an engineer could build a better electric ratchet wrench. My secondary complaint is that there is no provision to lock sockets onto the wrench. During the first 10 uses of the wrench, I dropped two (2) sockets. My manual ratchets and extensions all lock the sockets so that they cannot drop. A wrench this expensive should lock onto the sockets. My third complaint is that the wrench has too much power to start nuts and bolts. Unless you are willing to risk cross-threading, nuts and bolts must be started manually and then tightened with the wrench. The alternative that I use is to start nuts and bolts with a 4.2-volt, adjustable torque, low power electric screwdriver and then use the electric ratchet wrench to tighten. It means changing tools and swapping sockets and is a hassle that should not be needed. A "low power" switch or setting should be easy to add and is a requirement. My final complaint is that the LED illuminates the socket instead of the work. When I am using the wrench in a tight space, I want to see the head of the bolt or nut as well as the end of the socket – especially deep sockets. The LED used in this wrench has such a tight beam that I cannot see well enough to get the socket onto the nut or bolt.

Are these considered intrinsically safe?

Are these considered intrinsically safe?
Posée par: Luis
I don't know the definition of "intrinsically safe". What I know is that a tool alone can't be safe or dangerous. It's nearly 100% determined by how you use it. As for this Milwaukee M12 3/8' ratchet, it's safely in use somewhere every day.

Why is the 1/4" ratchet $30.00 more than the 3/8" ratchet?

1/4 inch drive is less popular. Alot of 1/4 inch tools are the same price or more then their 3/8 couterpart.
