Rated 5 de 5 de par Valuable [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a Builder/remodeler, and I have a lot of tools and equipment to keep track of. It's easy to overlook where things are if I'm not careful. More than once in my 47 year career I know that tools or equipment have been left on the job site, or sprouted feet and walked off the site. That's why the Milwaukee One key Tick tool and equipment tracker is so valuable. I loaded the app on my iPhone and iPad, and and installed these on several tools, and now I can always know where they are. Tools might still get lost or walk away, but I will be able to locate them! Valuable!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Really works! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to say the only downside to this product I've found is the name (ew ticks), aside from that, it actually works better than I expected it to. I put trackers in a few of my different Milwaukee tool cases, and the OneKey app tracks the locations of the tools that you coincide each tick device with complete with a GPS map to pinpoint the location which you can also swap to a satellite view. Pretty impressive tech! The devices themselves seem pretty dang sturdy, which is definitely a plus.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Okay for on the job site use If you are just looking to be able to find tools within 100' of you or you lose things on a small job site often it will work, but for keeping track of equipment and trucks that aren't within seeing range or are on other job sites it will not work. The range for tracking is only 100'. For the price you are better off to buy a tile tracker for the same price, sometimes less, and it uses gps to locate. We tried these but after finding out the range is so small we switched back to putting tile trackers on all the keys to the trucks and equipment. That way we can find out trucks and equipment no matter where they are. We did like the size and mounting ability with the Milwaukee Tick and how it can be hidden easy, they just need to improve the range on being able to locate.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Tool and equipment LOCATOR [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Milwaukee One Key Tick might be better described as a locator rather than a tracker. I can understand the intent is to track your stuff but this device doesn't actually show the tracking such as the route of your Milwaukee "TICKED" item, it just shows last location that picked up by an app enabled device. Another misunderstanding is the GPS used to locate. The Milwaukee Tick Tool doesn't use GPS, only Bluetooth. The GPS is used in combination with the Milwaukee One-Key app to show the last location on Google map. The location is determined by the last communication with a Bluetooth One-Key enabled device. Other than those misunderstandings, the Milwaukee Tick tool is a great way to locate your stuff. I installed a Tick Tool on a set of keys for equipment that has shared operators. Also installed a Tick Tool on a multi-meter that is sometimes in the truck or sometimes in the toolbox in the shop. I don't use the Milwaukee Tick Tool necessarily to thwart against theft, rather just to find stuff that gets misplaced. That part Milwaukee Tick Tool does well. The App is OK. User friendly enough to get around. Worked well with my Android phone. Although I'm not crazy about the password algorithm for Milwaukee account setup. Other thoughts on use for Milwaukee Tick Tool: - school or work backpacks - someone that often looses their keys - bicycle at campus parking - the dog that occasionally escapes (just a thought - never tried) - stuff your kids borrow

Rated 5 de 5 de par Awesome! Helped me find my truck! The milwaukee tick uses bluetooth technology which goes up to 100ft off anyone who has the milwaukee app on there phone. Not just from your phone it works off anyones phone! Thats how I was able to retrieve my truck.

Rated 4 de 5 de par The good, the bad and the ugly [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is very important to know how these work before deciding to integrate them in to your asset management workflow. Each tag has Bluetooth, just Bluetooth. The tag communicates with your cell phone, and your cell phone calculates the tags location before uploading that data to the cloud. As well as communicating with your cell phone, it also communicates with any other cell phone that has the Milwaukee smartphone app installed - the idea being the tags location will be detected and uploaded to the cloud even if you are not close by. Your smartphone app will look for other users tags and report their location too (don't worry, users can only see their own tags location). An ideal workflow would be using these on a larger job site where many of your staff have the app installed, giving a 360 coverage of the whole area. If your device goes missing, then unless you or someone else with the application installed is not within 100 feet of it you will not find out where it is. You can always find its last reported location, however old that is. In my opinion these tags are purely for tracking and offer little protection against theft. The tags are easy to remove, and even if you epoxy them in place, the top cover twists off to replace the battery. Removing the top cover by simply twisting it and then popping out the battery will render the tracker inoperable. If you misplace tools then this is the tracker for you, it is not going to allow you to track their location once they have been removed from within 100ft of your smartphone or any other smartphone running the app. As they are so easy to disable (remove the battery) I affixed mine in not so obvious locations - under the seat of my zero turn mower; in the engine bay of the skid steer, under the hood of the RAM and Tundra pickups.

I've searched the net tetimgvto find out how to track a tick but I've come up with nothing so far. The insteuction say just register the tick with the one key app and start tracking but it only shows the location I specify when I set it up on the app. No real time tracking. So if my tools are stolen I would never bet able to track them cause it would say it was last located at home where I specified it was. The aren't worth two cents, much less $100 for 4 pieces of junk. I'm returning these things today. Aweful purchase.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Never loose a tool again [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ONE-Key TICK Tool and Equipment Tracker provides you with real-time location based information about your tools or equipment. The tracker can be glued or fastened to anything on a jobsite. Once the tracker is setup with all the information and name of the tool, the app works as a digital database of all the tools and can even be updated with maintenance schedules for the specific tool. Being able to locate the tool and see it on a map is a great feature to have.

how many feet away from my tool can I tracked

Posée par: tools
100 miles would make it well worth it... We have a small farm and things disappear... If it was good for even 50 miles, I would buy these for just about everything from chain saws to trailers...

So it won't work if I don't have the one key tool I have to have the one key tool for that to work with that right I hav

Posée par: Squiggs
You DO NOT have to own the Fuel w/ONE-KEY tools for this to work. You simply need to download the ONE KEY app and the tick can be placed on anything you want to be protected.

Posée par: Diana
Yes it is tricky, you have to look at the raised parts and holding one set try and turn the other, you have to look closely and they are a bit tight.

If you epoxy the Tick to the tracked device, can the battery still be replaced? Or does the epoxy effectively turn it into a one-year device?
Posée par: Nate248
I think it will depend on whether you epoxy the entire back or not. If you epoxy only the center portion that contains the battery, then you should have no trouble removing the body of the unit to replace the battery.
