Rated 4 de 5 de par Good selection of metal cutting blades [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used Milwaukee sawzall blades before, but usually i'd get what I needed when I needed it, so there wasn't so much with the consistency, or having another sharp blade at hand when the one I was using started to wear out. I figured a set would be a good way to avoid that in the future (especially since my local hardware store lost their lease, so i have to go twice as far just to get a blade when I need one). I can't say i've used all of them in the set yet (and probably won't until the right projects come along), but I can say that there's enough variety in TPI, length, and rigidity (Torch) or flexibility (thin kerf) to see me through when I do. As long as I can avoid doing something stupid like using these for wood or PVC :-)

Rated 5 de 5 de par Good value for the money set with a useful variety of 6" and 9" long blades [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We decided to try out this Milwaukee sawzall blade set and we're very pleased with the product. Perhaps the most useful aspect of the set, aside of the variety of blades that are included, is the fact that the 'Torch' style blades are taller and slightly wider than traditional sawzall blades which makes them less susceptible to bending/warping if you accidentally hit the tip while cutting in a confined space. Along with the taller 'Torch' style blades, more conventional thin kerf (cut width) blades are included with a traditional pointed tip. The set has six 9" blades ranging from 14-18 TPI which are suitable for cutting metal between 1/8" - 7/16" thick. Also included are ten shorter 6" long blades with 14-24 TPI which are suitable for cutting metal from 1/18" - 7/16" thick. At the price, each blade works out at less than $2 per blade, which is great value for money.

Rated 5 de 5 de par A no brainer for the do it yourselfer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At less than $2 a blade you can't go wrong having this in the tool shed. I only need these occasionally but when you need one you need one. Often I need to demo something before I know what parts are needed so having extra blades on hand often saves me a trip to the depot. That alone is worth the price. These work with wood as well so I just grab a torch if there is wood with a nail in it. There is a good variety of blades in the set. A total of 7 different types of blades Ten 6 inch blades 14,18, and 24 teeth per inch. 6 9 inch blades 14 and 18 tpi. It would have been nice if they came in a sleeve rather than the clamshell. if you are careful the clamshell can be used as a storage container.

I tried a lot of different blades from other stores like a store that has Freight in it's name and on line but the quality of those blades are of NO Comparison to the Milwaukee Sawzall Metal Cutting Bi-Metal Reciprocating Blades. When you are scraping metal these various size blades really come in handy as you are constantly running into the need to change blade size so as not to damage a blade because it was to long. They seem to last a lot longer than their competitors blades, and really cut through the metal fast.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Sorry to say that this product is better suited for... Sorry to say that this product is better suited for wood. I used the coarse blade for cutting 3/8" rebar. After the 3rd cut it slowed down the cutting action. I changed over to my worn out blade (dewalt) and was able to continue cutting

Rated 5 de 5 de par The Torch and The Thin Kerf blade. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This set of sawzall blades consists of 16 blades in two different lengths and two different styles. For all intents and purposes they are "metal' cutting blades. However I have used a high tooth count blade when needing a fine controllable cut. There are 6 -9 inch blades in 14tpi or 18 tpi and also in the two different styles. The Torch blade is wider , about 1" and is almost flat on the end while the thin kerf is more like the old standard size 3/4 " wide blade cut at about a 45 degree angle at the end. The shorter blades are 6 inches long and come in 14-18 or 24 tpi. and also in both styles. No blade last forever so let the blade do the work and don't force it. I have been using Milwaukee blades for years and if used properly will out last the "cheaper" competition.

Can I cut a tire

Posée par: Jim
Yes, but! The blade can cut the material BUT the rubber makes so much resistance on the side of the blade to make it very hard. You will likely need a helper pulling the tire away from the blade so that only the teeth are touching the rubber. Good Luck.

Would these cut through a 1/2" motor shaft? I have a fan blade stuck and not coming off, the entire assembly is being replaced so I do not need to save the old shaft.

Posée par: Darren
Yes they should

Can one of the metal blades in this set be used to cut car exhaust pipe tubing?

Posée par: Roger
Exhaust tubing has been a blade-killer (when I used to do use this stuff). While the blades in that set are better than the "normal" blades, you will save yourself a lot of grief/frustration by switching to the Milwaukee 9 in. 7 TPI TORCH carbide teeth metal cutting reciprocating blades. The thicker, lower 7 TPI carbide-tipped blades cut better and last much much longer. If you can't find those,I'd recommend the Lenox 8 TPI lazer cut carbide-tipped blades. Both blades ARE pretty expensive but will outlast several of the thick bi-metal blades.
