Rated 4 de 5 de par Cuts holes easily [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this bit for drilling holes through floor tiles which are that bit thicker than wall tiles, but the hole saw made pretty quick work of it. My only complaint is that it's a little difficult to get an accurate start with the bit head wanting to skip along the tile surface. Maybe I need a faster drill - my hand drill isn't super fast - or maybe I just need more practice. However, once the hole is started, the bit was able to cut through the rest of the tile quickly and easily, leaving a neat, clean hole with no visible chipping or cracking. It's certainly much easier than attempting with a standard drill bit - I tested that process out on an offcut. Glad I found this saw instead!

Rated 5 de 5 de par worked great as expexted key point with all bits, especially cutting stone, don't try and cut at 500mph. Yake your time and let the bit do the work for you. I cut granite for RO hook up in the kitchen for culigan tech. I started as a dry cut at about a 45 angle on medium speed. It helped with the bit to not skip across the counter. once i had it in i started to angel it up right slowely till bit was perpindiclar to counter. Used vacumme to collect dust while drilling. once up right I used a tiny bit of water to help keep bit cook and dust down. All the drilling was at med speed. Time was about 5 min to complete. This was my first time ever cutting into granit and this tool worked great. Sorry for grammer as reviewed using phone.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Diamonds Aren't JUst For Ladies I purchased this drill to make holes for the tap in the 3/4" thick quartz counter-top. Drill went through easily within about 20 seconds. Works great, it was easy to use. Very pleased here from the product.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Does its job well Like so many other little DIY jobs, I needed a special tool that will only get used once or twice. In this case, a diamond hole saw to drill 2 holes through tile and backer to mount a shower bar. $40 combined between the hole saw and arbor is a bit steep for 2 holes but it was the only way to get the proper results. I toyed with the idea of buying 2 regular hole saws at $8 each and just ruining them but wasn't sure it would get through the tile.

Rated 5 de 5 de par This Diamond MAX hole saw is amazing!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed to put a clean hole in ceramic tile This saw is better then any carbide bit I have used! It’s so easy and doesn’t rag the edge of the hole. It did not punch out the bottom of the tile either. I can’t wait to get more sizes. The core removes from the bit easily. Milwaukee is a trusted name in my life for many, many years.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Perfect for cutting a hole in a ceramic tile Was looking for a good quality drill bit for putting a 1in hole in a large ceramic tile for a shower arm. I actually made a 1 1/4 diameter hole. This worked flawlessly. I used light pressure and a dipping can of water to put the bit in after 10 seconds of cutting to cool it. the adjustable retracting pilot bit is excellent at keeping the bit from walking. I was looking for something of quality. When I saw the Milwaukee name, and it mimics the design of high quality core cutting bits, I was all in. I would recommend it for what I did.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Believe the positive reviews :) Great price point and glad to find it without having to go to a specialty stone or masonry supply. Used it for a garbage disposal air switch in a quartz counter top. Kept it wet with a spray bottle and used a low RPM drill. I think in this case that high speed means more heat and less control. Did not look beat up after use. Like with anything, prep is 90% of the job. Kind of a drag to mess up a brand new $4000 counter top install because you're in a hurry to drill a hole.

The hole saw itself did a very good job of cutting through the ceramic tile I was cutting. The problem lies wit the Retractable Starter Bit with Large Arbor that you use with it. It says to make a small guide knoch to keep it centered but that didn't work for me. the tip moved around enough that my holes were off by as much as a quarter inch. In my instance this fortunately didn't ruin the project, but be weary if precision is important for your project.

You could, but you are spending 2x more than you need to. This Diamond Plus is designed for porcelain, granite and marble with a very high degree of precision. I suggest saving your money and select the Milwaukee Carbide Grit Hole Saw with Pilot Bit instead.

You need to purchase the Milwaukee 49-56-7135 Retractable Starter Bit with Large Arbor. It fits inside this hole saw and acts as a guide.

With all the "teeth", does this cause it to jump? Should the hole first be started with the bit tilted to prevent skipping, moving?

For the diamond plus hole saw you'll want to use an arbor to center and guide the saw. As with any hole saw you should use an arbor. I recommend using the Milwaukee Retractable Starter Bit for their Diamond Plus Hole Saws. Now they say you don't need a pilot hole to start it with, but I would recommend starting the center pin with a shallow hole about the size of the retractable centering pin. I tried it once without a pilot hole and it walked around a little screwing up my hole.

Any RPM requirement for this diameter hole saw?
Posée par: Harry
Yes but offhand I don’t know it. What I do know is this bit can be over heated and ruined thats why I had to buy two. Go slow and if you can spritz some water on it and peck away it should work. Do not treat it like a hole saw going through plywood
