Rated 5 de 5 de par Worth it if you need a large hole. I’ve owned a bunch of these Milwaukee hole saws in various sizes over the years and they all seam to just work. Most of my hole boring is done in hard and soft woods, but I’ve also used these in drywall and MDF. I even used one of the diamond variants to cut some holes in tile and that too worked flawless. These do tend to be a bit pricy, but once you have buy it you’ve probably never have to buy another one again. While I haven’t used these in solid metal, I have found they cut through nails in studs with ease. The big takeaway, if Milwaukee’s name is on it, you know it will work as advertised without any issues or defects.

Rated 1 de 5 de par I was really disappointed in my Milwaukee 3-1/2” hole saw.... I was really disappointed in my Milwaukee 3-1/2” hole saw. I purchased it with the intention of cutting 4 holes in some mild steel that was 3/16” thick. I used my drill press at the proper rpm along with some oil as a cutting fluid and this hole saw failed on the first hole. The thickness of the threaded hole where the arbor screws into on the hole saw is too shallow and it stripped out after awhile allowing the hole saw to vibrate loose and dull all the teeth. I used another brand holesaw to finish the project with no problem. Evidently these Milwaukee holesaws are not up to the task of drilling holes in 3/16” thick metal.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Perfect for 3" Sch40 PVC Pipe Installed new 3" Sch40 pipe - an upgrade from an undersized 1-1/2" pipe. Bit created a clean hole through vinyl siding (in reverse), two layers of 1/2" sheathing, old clap-board siding and a 2x stud on its back. All while consuming some of the existing 2" hole. It also gnawed through two 10 penny nails encountered along the way. Just hope its not dull now :)

Rated 5 de 5 de par Cuts fast through multiple layers of materials. I had to... Cuts fast through multiple layers of materials. I had to drill 3 1/2" holes in an old commercial building wall, which consisted of T-111 siding, 1/2 fire rated brown gypsum, 1 1/2" DF blocking. It had no problem, and was deep enough to cut the blocking from the outside. Sometimes the cheaperhole saws are less than 1 1/2" deep, and so may required drilling from both sides. Try not to lityou hole saw get too hot. I think too much heat can oxidize the metal teeth and cause them to dull faster. Also, spray down with a rust preventative spray to keep bit from corroding after thefactory coating has been disturbed, which will always be the case once you start using the bit.

Rated 1 de 5 de par won’t even cut hardwood I used this hole saw before to cut 31/2” holes in 2X6 pine boards but when i tried to cut some 1X6 maple not good at all. I was using a drill press and after about 1/16” of cutting it started vibrating violently. Disaaster

Rated 1 de 5 de par If cutting metal, look elsewhere Milwaukee is a good brand or so I thought. This saw wouldn't even cut through the sheet metal in a pickup bed to install gooseneck hitch. Don't waist your time with this if wanting to cut metal and thin metal at that.

Will the arbor/mandrel from a 3 1/4 inch Lennox hole saw fit the Milwaukee 3 1/2 inch hole saw?

I have many Lennox hole saws that I have purchased over the years, but no 3 1/2 inch size. I need a 3 1/2 hole saw now, but everyone seems to be out of this size in the Lennox brand. Will the Lennox arbor/mandrel fit the Milwaukee 3 1/2 inch hole saw?
Posée par: Todd
Yes, most are universal. If they have the same 4 holes evenly spaced on the bottom it will fit your mandrel.
