Rated 5 de 5 de par great holesaw I just bought and used this holesaw today for a small project and I needed to cut through plastic. This saw worked really well. I was able to clean out the cut material very easily by using the slot on the side. It bit into the material well when starting my cut and made it easy to keep my drill straight. The saw never lost its place on the plastic and cut through with ease. The hex shank on this will not fit a 1/4” impact driver just to let you know ahead of time. You will need a decent size chuck on a drill. There wasn’t anything to dislike about it, but to be fair I didn’t cut multple holes in hard metal yet. This hole saw does meet my expectations. Please hit thumbs up if this was helpful.

I used it to cut a hole in a plastic box (a bit like a sweater-storage box) and it worked fine after clamping a couple pieces of plywood to the bottom of the box (so the pilot bit had something to bore into) and two stacks of wood scraps on the inside to keep the plastic from lifting up toward the drill. My only complaint is with the packaging: It was one of the most difficult packages I've ever dealt with. Cut after cut with a Stanley knife (scissors and tin snips didn't make a dent), and I finally freed the hole saw. No matter how carefully I did this, the sharp plastic edges still slashed my hands in two places. Milwaukee: your tamper-proof packaging is horrible!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Another Fabulous Milwaukee Tool [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Milwaukee never fails to build great tools and this Hole Saw is no exception. With a 2 1/2” diameter, it's big and fairly heavy – and it creates a lot of drag when cutting into wood. My 12V Lithium drill wouldn't drive it, but my 18V drill had no problem cutting through 3/4” hardwood plywood and pine with ease. The hex shank is 3/8” and will not fit a standard 1/4” drive, so you need either a larger driver or a standard drill chuck that opens at least that large. Given the large diameter of the saw, a beefy arbor is required. The one surprise I had was the saw itself unscrewing from the arbor when the drill stopped. There is no locking mechanism holding the saw to the arbor. It just screws into place with a standard thread, so it self-tightens from the drag when biting into the wood it's cutting. If you engage, then stop the drill without that drag on the saw, the momentum of the saw together with the sudden braking of the drill causes the saw to unscrew. It's doesn't impact the function of the saw at all, but it's something to be aware of from a safety aspect. The saw is deep – about 1 3/4” - and includes generous cut-outs for removing the plug from the saw after the cut. Milwaukee refers to it as “Plug Jack”, and it's the best I've used (see photo). I was even able to remove the 3/4” plugs with my fingers. The mandrel's drill bit is replaceable and adjustable via a set screw, a great feature not found on some other hole saws. The ONE downside to this item is the packaging; it isn't just the tool that's made with specially hardened material. Cutting through that hard plastic to access the tool, even WITH metal snips, can easily result in cuts on fingers and hands. After accessing it, the tool is excellent in every way and a pleasure to use.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Dull and unusable within minutes I've used countless hole saws to cut into steel. I usually use Diablo ones that are cheaper than Milwaukee, but my store won't stock them and my usual tool store was closed. This hole saw was dull within minutes of being used out of the package. It was used at low (proper) rpm with lubrication and not much pressure on the drill. (The same way I successfully make holes using cheap ones). After just over a minute of cutting it was useless and wouldn't cut anymore, not even a flake of metal would appear. Complete waste of money, and now I have the challenge of trying to return it. Would of got a much better cut from a cheaper Diablo, and even been able to use it for more cuts afterwards. Expected more from Milwaukee, especially considering it was a better brand and cost almost twice as much as the usual hole saws I buy. I've even had better luck with princess auto/ harbor freight hole saws. It would work for wood, but definitely not for metal (which is is supposedly capable of cutting). Never again.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Milwaukee is a top name that stands for uncompromising quality.... Milwaukee is a top name that stands for uncompromising quality. This 2 1/2 inch drill kit is exactly what you need for the new Bosch dishwashers to penetrate the cabinet for all three connections, drain hose, electrical connector and water supply. It contains the arbor and round cutting drill in one package. It makes short work of the task. Make sure to raise the drain hose to high under the counter top, clamping the hose in place to prevent it from being dislodged\ before you connect it to the trap drain or disposer, whichever is indicated in your situation. Keeping the hose high provides the critical air gap to prevent backflow. This kit is great for one time use and worth the investment. If you do a lot of counter boring, it may be better to buy a kit with various sizes.

Can the arbor be removed and used with a different size Milwaukee bit?

I apologize. My question was not clear. I meant to say can you remove the arbor supplied and use it with another size hole saw? I realize they offer arbors that can be used with multiple hole saws but I'm wondering if the arbor supplied with this hole saw can be removed. It doesn't appear that it can.
