Rated 4 de 5 de par Great shower bar The shower bar looks great and was easy to install. However, the hardware that is included would not work for installing over tile. The included anchors are for 1/2" thick material, like drywall. You will need to buy anchors for thicker material if you are going into tile (1/4" tile + 1/2" backer + a little space from mortar). I used the included anchors at first and things did not go so well. I was lucky and was able to get them back out without damaging the tile.

I left out the tube on one side and drilled two holes so this could be pinned to the bracket and then cut the rod to length with a hack saw. I think this provides more torsional stability for the curved rod. Looks great installed and probably would have been okay without the modification. There wasn't good information on where this should be hung so I will give you my advise - ends of the rod on the inside edge of the tub. This worked out well for me. You might want to put the curtain on and see how it looks before you install the anchors. I also screwed my anchors into the studs which I made sure they were covering this area before installing the hardie board and tile.

Rated 4 de 5 de par This Cut to Fit > Adjustable Shower Rod Model I think the cut-to-fit rod on this model gives a more satisfying result than the similar adjustable model. I'd much rather measure and cut the rod once than forever be flipping the curtain rings over the adjustable rod's joint before and after every shower. TIP: The instruction sheet shipped with this model does not have a mounting template. So, download the instruction sheet PDF for the adjustable model, which has the proper template. Important: The PDF is 11 x 17 - if your printer can't print 11 x 17, print it out at 100% on 8.5 x 11 and although the printout tiles over numerous pages, the paper templates will be exactly the right size. Confirm before drilling! Cut out the templates and tape them to the wall for perfect, level hole locations. I downloaded csii_adj_csr_11x17.pdf that's for adjustable model DN2160CH directly from Moen, and the drilling/leveling templates were a perfect fit.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Excellent quality You have to think your way through the installation. Luckily I didn't have to cut the bar. It fit well into my 1970's home prefab tub enclosure. Instructions are not the greatest. Make sure you allow enough height for the sloping tub so that the curtain doesn't drag. Measure the height from the rear of the tub, not at the drain end. It took me about 30 minutes once I had all the right tools.

My opening was a bit small for this rod so I used a pipe cutter, normally used for copper pipe, to shorten it. This yielded a very clean cut. Overall, the installed product looks very nice. I was never a big fan of adjustable rods because of how the gap looks where the rods come together and because of how the shower curtain hangs up on the bar there when you try to slide it back and forth. I was a little disappointed because the cups at the ends do not completely cover the joint where the bar slides into the wall-mounted piece. Glad I used a pipe cutter and not a hacksaw to shorten the bar.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Easy to install, Attractive, Needs a dab of super glue. My tiny tub/shower needed some help. A curved rod was the only answer. The instructions were clear. The decorative cover snapped over the mounting bracket easily. The only thing is the rod itself is a tad bit short (no my shower is not a bit longer) so the rod has about a half Inch of horizontal movement and when it moves part of the mounting is exposed. However nothing a few dabs of super glue can't cure. Also if your shower is a bit shorter it will be a non issue for you.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Looks really nice, straight-forward install. Sorry I waited so long to install a fixed rod as opposed to the standard tension rod. Looks SO much nicer. This model as a really nice finish, and the decorative end caps kind of match my towel rods, This bowed style adds in-tub space that even a smaller person can appreciate, although if you use an outer curtain in additionn to an inner liner, the outside curtain will hang away from the tub, which would take up more space.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Touch of class. My husband installed this handsome rod; just had to cut off 1/2 inch for a perfect fit. Hardware includes strong anchor bolts. One piece style lets rings slide back & forth smoothly; no more catching in the middle. That was so annoying! And the bowed style makes the shower more roomy. Bonus: the flange covers really add a touch of class to this rod.

Is there a way to slide a curtain on the rod directly? without using hooks? Meaning is there a way to access just the pole to slide the curtain on, or is it connected to the flanges at the end?
Posée par: Lisa
Technically, yes, but it would require removing a flange to do so.

Can this rod handle the weight of a towel after a shower ?

Posée par: Pooks
Absolutely. I hang my clothes for the next morning on it every night and have had no problems; and I have double curtain hooks and curtains on it as well.

What are pivoting flanges?

What are pivoting flanges?
Posée par: Barry
Because the shower rod is curved the pivot flange allows you to turn the flange until it fits on the tub wall. It sounds weird, but after I held the rod up I turned it until it fit snug on the wall. Once you have the tight fit screw the back on and the cover piece slides on.

Does this rotate?

Can I put it in towards wall and the rotate out to gain the extra space in the shower?
Posée par: Lewski
The shower curtain attaches with 2 anchor bolts at each end so no, after install, there is no rotation. The bar is fixed. So you would affix it as for a straight shower rod but install so as to bow outward from tub. It does provide extra room.

Does the flange on the end of the rod allow for a 35- 45 degree angle?

I am planning on installing the curved shower rod into a space that has a standard vertical wall on the right hand side and the left hand side is approximately 35-45 degree angle and is part of the ceiling.
Posée par: Morrie
35 degree angle at best. And be prepared to have a couple of people help you pull the base into place and affix to wall. Not the easiest product to work with.

I am having marble installed all the way to the ceiling around my tub. Can this be mounted to marble? If so, do I need anything special to do so and what would I need?
Posée par: Clueless
Sure. Make sure you use the right drill bit for marble.

Is this model a cut to fit one piece rod?

Posée par: Bill E.
The specs indicate length of 59" but my bath is 60" and it fit just fine. There was no need to cut it to size. The ends would extend slightly more, but not much. It is designed for a 5' shower. The rod is one piece though, not extendable. and cannot be compressed
