I purchased six Multinautic QPF495 5x10 dock kits last year and installed them with floats underneath on a small lake in Indianapolis. I liked them so much that I purchased two more kits this spring to add on to the dock. Some of the big reasons that I liked these docks versus other options were: 1. The aluminum frame for durability, 2. The 5 ft. width (most of my neighbors docks are only 4 ft wide and feel narrow when you walk on them), 3. Each section connects easily to the next section and additional sections can be added later (I have an "L-shaped" pattern similar to one shown in the instructions and will try to attach a picture). The assembly process was a good DIY project that I could do by myself. I assembled each section separately on one side of my two-car garage by supporting the corners on small blocks of scrap lumber. There are lots of nuts and bolts and it will take a while to assemble. The directions were good and the customer service over the phone was excellent and very helpful when I called. My biggest advice during assembly is to not tighten the bolts in the corners all the way until all four corners are assembled. This will help all of the pre-drilled holes line up easier. I also installed the hinges in the garage based on my "L-shaped" design pattern. The installation step requires some help from another person. We carried the frames down to the shore and then connected the floats so we wouldn't have to carry the whole assembly down to the shore. We used two floats per section in order to have the dock float closer to the water level to make it easier to get into our kayak. We floated the docks in the water and then connected them together with pins from the already installed hinges. I used posts at the shore and 5-gallon bucket concrete anchors on chains at the corners to keep the dock in place. I added the deck boards on top last after it was connected together. I recommend getting the horizontal stabilizers (fusion connectors) and installing them on the farthest sections to make a more rigid platform on the end of the dock. Overall, I really enjoy this dock and, after almost a year, it looks great and my kids love jumping off the back of it onto their floats. It is also nice and wide and there is room for chairs for my wife and I to sit on.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Well Engineered Quality Dock Option After many months of evaluating potential do-it-yourself dock kits, I selected this one. It was a great decision. All of the parts had a precision fit to them, the parts list was comprehensive and complete, and the instructions were pretty easy to understand. In addition to the quality, this dock kit was selected because there was a great system for combining multiple dock sections to make a large dock. The "fusion connectors" allowed us to connect two of these docks easily. As recommended, we used cedar decking. The end product was both functional and beautiful. We are now looking to add one additional section this summer to accommodate our growing family. I would highly recommend this dock kit to anyone who is looking for an alternative to more expensive commercial dock systems.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Pretty good but not perfect I needed to be able to construct the dock mostly on my own as my only helper is my petite wife (except when kids visit!). This kit fit the bill in that I could assemble the aluminum frames and decking separately. I built four sections (4 frames, 8 deck sections, and 10 floats) in my driveway then rented a 16ft UHaul and with one other person was able to carry all the pieces down to the waters edge where I attached the floats and deck sections to the frames before pushing into the water. Why not 5 stars? 1) Manual was not accurate. The cross beams are of a different length than listed in the manual. I had to call Tech Support to figure it out and they admitted they hadn't updated the US version of the Manual. 2) Some sections were missing bolts. Luckily these are easily purchased at Home Depot however that added a trip to the store to finish. If I had been at the lake it would have taken more than an hour to rectify missing parts. 3) The Fusion Connectors are not available in the US and they won't be making more until 2021. 4) Recommended bolts for the mid-freeboard floats that I purchased were too long. I should have gotten bolts 1/2" shorter than recommended or purchased fully threaded bolts. 5) When I did get a hold of one set of Fusion Connectors the bolts were not the correct length. The dock sections seem very sturdy however, I'm not sure how they compare to the Playstar aluminum frame that has all aluminum crossbars as compared to the Multinautic that relies on some wood crossbars.

If I purchase two kits, can one 10x10 dock be built? by mixing the parts of the two kits. not two 5x10 linked together, just one 10x10 piece.
Posée par: weruweru
Hello, the parts included don't allow to do that kind of assembly. You would need fusion plate kits instead of corner leg holders.

The installation manual mentions a fusion connector part #21585 to connect multiple kits together. I cannot find them in the homedepot website. I want to connect 4 kits to create a 20 x 10 floating platform. Can you point me in the right direction?
