Rated 5 de 5 de par Really Works I bought this tape to install a bath fan. Honestly I was not sure if this tape was just a gimmick and no different than duct tape but I decided to give it a try. This tape is not wrapped on itself like regular tape. It has a paper backing that you peel off once you are ready to use it. I used this tape to connect the duct connector to the fan and the duct itself. I also used a reducer so I used this tape to connect the duct to both sides of the reducer. This tape creates a solid seal and looks very professional (even if no one is going to see it). This is a great product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Flexible aluminum tape with super strong moisture resistant adhesive and it really has 10 yds on the roll Model # 1246857 Internet #205033915 Store SKU #1000042570 Nashua Tape 1.89 in. x 9.8 yd. Bath Fan Installation Tape Nashua has a lot of different types of tape, I chose this one because it is designed specifically for bath fan installation. It is UV, moisture and mold resistant. The most important reason was I am using it in a wet environment and it needs to be moisture and mold resistant. Even though the description and specifications say it only has 9.8 yds on the roll, there really is 10 yds. See photo. I replaced an existing exhaust fan but didn't have to use the tape because the new fan had a clamp to hold the flexible duct to the fan. The sheet metal didn't quite meet in the corners, leaving small holes. I used small piece of tape to cover them for an air tight seal. I found another good use for the tape. The new fan I installed was slightly smaller than the old one and I had about a 1/2” gap all the way around the fan. For a temporary fix I stuffed paper into the crack and used the Nashua tape to seal the metal edge of the fan to the sheetrock. The tape stuck and held fast to the inside of the metal fan housing and did fairly well on the sheetrock. Remember this is just temporary. This kept the insulation from falling down around the edge of the new bath fan until I can fix it right. When I read the description is said it has an “extreme high tack, aggressive adhesive and provides an instantaneous and durable bond to surfaces”. They are right, once you press it down it sticks and you have to peel it off if you don't get it in the right place. MORE INFORMATION: Tape can be applied from -10°F to 200°F Performs in all weather applications from 40-200°F The maximum hold temperature is 125°F The minimum hold temperature -20°F

Rated 5 de 5 de par Easy to work with [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had an old bathroom vent fan that needed replacement. The old unit used a 4 inch duct, the new unit used a 3 inch oblong duct. Converting 3 to 4 inch is easy as the Depot has these adaptors. But the hose fittings needed to be tapped to ensure a secure and long lasting joint on the oblong fitting.. This tape is tough, easy to work with and even though it's a foil tape it form fits well. The paper back is easy to remove and due to the ease of working with it, waste is minimal. Works great for all joint connections in an area where moisture might be an issue.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used to buy our aluminum tape from the dollar stores, but realize it is NOT worth it. The quality, headache, and cost are not worth it. Buy this instead. I manage 20 units of apartments and always check the vents. Poorly sealed vents create more problems for me and the tenants. Dust may fly where it's not supposed to, moisture spreads where it's not supposed to, and it can even grow mold. This tape is easy to work with, but it's quite sticky so be careful. I find it easy to work with if you rip 6-7 inch strips and work with that. It does feel strong and a little sharp, so be careful. It was also easy for me to remove when needed, but often times it will rip so you may not be able to reuse it. Section 8(low income housing) used to allow duct tape in my area, but I would never suggest duct tape. A tad cheaper, maybe, but not worth the hassle. I've also seen the old owner use duct tape and a lot of it has fallen off. Section 8 does not allow duct tape in my area anymore, anyways.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Superior Product for Sealing Ducts I was skeptical when I saw this product, but it proved to be well worth the expense. It's metallic tape with a wax paper backing. You can measure and cut the desired length without exposing the adhesive. During install, peel back enough to get started. Peel as you wrap the duct. It prevents excess insulation, dust, etc. from binding the adhesive and reducing the adherence. The flexible metal foil is easy to shape and allows for a tight seal. Pair it with a worm clamp for best results.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am building a couple of lighted movie poster frames and needed something to reflect the light back through the posters and decided to try this and it fit the bill. I used this because of its reflective property and the L.E.D. light strip I am using would stick to. I know this wasn’t its intended use, but it worked for what I needed. I have a couple more I will be doing and will be using this tape again. I did try a few pieces on a piece of duct work and it stuck to it very nicely. I would recommend this bath fan tape.

Saw this product on a few DIY videos on installing a bathroom fan in the attic (fantech separate from ceiling box). Great stuff to attach and seal the duct to the cieling box, both sides of the fan and to the roof vent. This tape will now be part of my DIY tools.

This is the stuff you want to use to connect bath fan duct work to the housing and the vent. It is foil backed and will outlast "duct" tape by a long margin. Use is pretty straight forward, I cut a section to length and applied around the connection between the fan outlet and the vent hose then did the same at the roof vent. I went around twice just to make sure I had a nice wide and solid connection. Once it was on I had my wife turn the fan on and no leaks were found.

Is this adhesive?

Is this adhesive?
Posée par: Steve
Yes, its pretty sticky. I like to cut it into 6 inch pieces to make it easier to work with. If you tape it down and have to remove it, it can rip and you may have to throw it out and get a new piece.

Will this work around bath tubs

Thank you for your question. Nashua Bath Fan Installation tape is designed for sealing duct work against air leakage and is not recommended for use around a bath tub. Best of luck with your project.

will this work on boiler exhaust ducts

will this work on boiler exhaust ducts
Posée par: sping
Thank you for your question. Nashua Bath Fan Installation Tape features a rubber based adhesive that unfortunately would not be expected to withstand long-term exposure to the high temperatures it would endure on a boiler exhaust duct and would not be suitable for the application. Best of luck with your project.
