I have this and it works great... in reading the reviews I noticed (imasaywhat) his review and he is incorrect about the door stop feature. It doesn't work well as a door stop. Oh and another thing.. when checking voltage output like he did, apparently he didn't put a "LOAD" on his measurement that's why it read a higher voltage then what is stated in the manufactures specs. Even standard ac/dc adapters do the same thing. It's when you put a load on it is when it will drop down to the appropriate output voltage as stated. Otherwise this is a great solar charger for on the go peoples.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Efficient Panel is compact when folded. Nice long cord. Is good for small devices. Comes with several adapters for a lap top. Good for charging 12v 7hr battery anything larger you would be better off buying larger panel. Price I paid was over 110.00 for 18 watt. Little steep, but I decided to try it anyways.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Who's in Control? Charge Controller Voltage Output Ratings per the Manufacturer: *Controller Cut-In Voltage = 13.0 VDC *Controller Cut-Out Voltage = 14.2 VDC Charge Controller Measured Voltage Output per Me the Consumer: *Controller Output Voltage = 17.2 VDC Hmmm? Maybe I should only use this "Controller" as a Door Stop?

Does it come with a USB connector to charge 12v USB gadgets? Thanks!

Does it come with a USB connector to charge 12v USB gadgets? Thanks!
Posée par: Gebo
No , no USB connector is available. you can not charge phones or any DC load directly of a solar panel, the solar panel always need a battery to provide power to. DC loads require a constant voltage , such out of a battery, solar panels produces variable voltage depending on sun and temperature, an therefore is not good to charge phones directly. Please feel free to contact Nature Power tech support for any more questions.

Can it maintain a 12 volt battery in a trailer

Needed for very basic 2 1157 bulbs in trailer
Posée par: Bozz
As long as you have daylight or best of all sunlight you should be able to maintain your battery, but remember, the more you use from your battery, the longer it will take to recharge.

could i use this on a sailboat to maintain some lighting, and charge phones along with maintaining a battery?

i have a 26' sailboat i am wanting to have a solar system on.. portable for not leaving on-board.. yet be able to hook up and go. needing to maintain the on-board batteries, (2 car batteries) while charging cellphones and some lighting at night...
Posée par: PAUL
Hi Paul, This folding solar panel is for maintaining and charging 12V batteries. The products you mentioned typically do not use a lot of power. So this solar system would work very well on your sailboat. It comes with a charge controller to help regular the voltage to your batteries. Happy Sailing!

Can I run a small fridge off it while camping

Posée par: stmawgan
No, you will not be able to run a small fridge with a 18W solar panels. If wanting to run small appliances we recommend a stronger panel.

How does this make 8 amps? At 12V 18W makes around 1.6 Amps, so what gives? I want to use this for a battery tender for a car I rarely drive so the battery doesn't die in between uses.
Posée par: PlywoodQuestion
The charge controller is rated for a maximum of 8 amps. The 18 watt panel is 1.5 amps. So you have capacity to add a few more panels if desired.
