Rated 5 de 5 de par Works great! Bought this nailer to perform a 3/4" hardwood floor install that I knew would take me several weeks due to my time restraints and I am not a pro. Would have been much more expensive to rent one than just to buy this one. I have finished one room (dining room) and am in the process of completing a living room and it works GREAT! After hooking up the air compressor to it the install has gone smoothly. One jam so far due to operator error, I hit it too lightly once, but was able to get it cleared quickly and easily. Leaves no marks on the floor and is sturdy. Works well for the weekend project guy like me. The floor came out great.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Very impressed! I went out on a limb and bought this Numax floor stapler because it has such good reviews. I have zero regrets! This thing works like a champ. I just finished about 500sf of solid 3/4 red oak with no problems whatsoever. I had 800sf total and did the first 300sf with the floor stapler Home Depot rents for $32 for 24hrs. I could tell no difference, and I didn't have to worry about getting it back on time. I could also use the same 1 1/2" Bostitch staples I was using with the Home Depot rental (good thing cause I bought a case). With the wood I have left over I think I'll knock out the walk in closet. I own my own floor stapler! Smart purchase.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Fantastic Tool I am so glad I purchased this tool for my flooring project. I used 2" staples for my 3/4" oak tongue and groove laid atop a 1-1/2" sub floor. I had ZERO problems with the tool, no misfires at all just a few bent staples that likely were shot into an existing nail in the sub floor. I added a few drops of oil each time a reloaded the magazine. If I had rented a nail gun I would have had to work much faster in order to minimize costs. Instead I worked at my own pace over the course of 4 days and I still have the gun. In my mind, the gun was not nearly as loud as other reviews led me to believe.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Excellent Nailer This is an excellent nailer. Used it with 1.5" staples to install 600 square feet of strand woven bamboo flooring and it worked perfectly. Never had a jam and is excellent quality. ** Pro Tip ** put about 5 drops of oil in the air port each time you refill the staples or nails and it will stay well oiled and prevent jams. ** Pro Tip 2 ** I put some liquid whiteout on the teeth on both sides of the nailer (see picture) so I could easily see that it was lined up. Black nailer on dark wood makes it hard to see, but with a little white, I could easily see it.

Rated 5 de 5 de par 1,000 sq ft of 3/4" hickory First time laying a floor and boy was it a job. I had read the reviews on this gun before purchasing and decided it was worth the risk, and way better than renting one for 70$ a day. Was able to work at my own pace without feeling rushed. I used the power nail 1 3/4" cleats in this gun. Only one jam during the whole flooring job and it cleared easily. I would recommend if you're a guy like me who likes doing things yourself (to see they're done right) and you plan on laying hardwood BUY THIS GUN. I even have decided to not sell the gun at our annual garage sale, as originally planned, after the install. It's a terrific value and these reviews are extremely accurate. Thanks for reading.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Numax 3 in 1 nailer we are over 200 miles from nearest store. Rental is out of the question. This tool was cheap enough for a one time use and did an excellent job. I had 600 sq ft of hardwood to install. This tool worked excellent with compressor hose regulator set to 95 psi. The gun did not jam once and drove 2" L nails all the way down to 60 psi. I have finished my project and would recommend or loan this tool out to friends/neighbors without hesitation. The only problem I had with it was that I though the balance was a bit too far forward and had to check the tool position before driving each nail.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Great Price - Poor Performance I don't know what everyone else is raving about with this gun -- I was installing 3/4" Hickory flooring and using staples to install Got to about the 3rd row in and the gun would start jamming every other staple I had to consistently clear the gun with jammed staples or pull out the half fired staple in the floor. I even used Bostich staples. I lubricated the gun several times - no difference. I found theat the firing hammer would not retract to fire the staples. Long story short -- I returned it - took the plunge and bought the Bostich Gun - and never had a problem since. Don't waste your money if you plan on using staples. Spend the extra dough and buy a good gun Well worth all the aggravation it saves.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Get MORE Than You Pay For.....FINALLY! My wife and I decided to install our Bruce hardwood ourselves. So, I chose to use the NuMax nailer to install 800 square feet of 2 1/4 by 3/4 inch solid red oak flooring. The nailer worked flawlessly. I used about 7,000 Bostitch 2 inch 16 gauge L cleats and had ZERO jams. I used a 150 psi pancake compressor set at 100-105 psi. I also used a couple drops of nailer oil about every third time I refilled the cleats. This proved to be way cheaper than renting a nailer. Plus, I didn't feel the time crunch to get the job done. This was my first installation of solid hardwood flooring and I am a DIY guy. I highly recommend the NuMax flooring nailer to professionals and novices alike.

Does base plates have protective coating that won't scar wood surface

Posée par: RJ
I've installed about 2/3 of my flooring project using pre-finished 3/4" ash and so far there have been absolutely no marks or "scars" left by the nailer. The NuMax is a very well-designed tool.

Where can I purchase nails for this gun

Posée par: SP
I used the 2" wood floor nails that I had left over from before. When I ran out my wife ran to local lumber yard and bought a box of 1,000 for $125. Came home and told me this and had minor heart attack and called the rental counter at HD and he said that HD's are like $18. Turns out the lumber yards were stainless steel and the HD were not. Since it was for a floor in my den (inside the house!) there was no problem using the $18 ones. I used about a half of this box of 1,000 and no jams and no problem. Save the money and get these.

Can this floor stapler be used with 1/2 inch engineered flooring and if so what size staples will...

Can this floor stapler be used with 1/2 inch engineered flooring and if so what size staples will be the best to use?
Posée par: Debbie
No, this stapler uses 15.5-gauge staples. Engineered wood flooring of 1/2-inch thickness generally requires the use of a thinner gauge staple. A different stapler will be required to use a thinner gauge staple. Check with the manufacturer of the flooring you are considering and get their recommendation, but this particular stapler from NuMax (worked great for me with 3/4-inch hardwood and 15 1/2 gauge staples) should not be used.

What FC and FS stand for?

Any other tips for a dyi ?
Posée par: Lizy
FS stands for floor stapler (staples) and FC stands for floor cleat (nails). Depends on flooring. Solid hardwood normally use cleat and Engineering hardwood use staples. My floor's solid red mahogany (3/4" thick) and I used cleats. Thanks

does this need an air compressor to operate?

Posée par: wlwang
Yes, it does require an air compressor. I don't think there are any manual ones anymore (like my dad used in the mid-1960's).
