Rated 4 de 5 de par Wish it came with a sliding window Wish it came with a sliding window to adjust active detection zone; I have to put on some tapes to block areas. Overall it’s a solid sensor of good sensitivity and fast response.

This is supported by Hubitat, and with the current driver reads motion, light level, temperature, and battery level. Currently this is my only zigbee device, and is about 15' away from the hub, through a couple interior walls, and a brick exterior wall, and is communicating perfectly. I have mine set up to operate the porch lights below a certain light level, when it detects motion. I also have a battery level notification set up. No telling how long it will be before I'll need that though. Some people in the hubitat group on fb have said theirs show 99% after a year. Mine is still 100% of course. It's powered by 2 included, changeable AA batteries. Which instructions say to NOT replace with rechargeable batteries. I also have integrated it with Alexa to tell me when somebody is at the door, and give me the porch temperature when I ask for it. It has no problems detecting motion, as I had to set the sensitivity to the lowest, to avoid false triggering, because it is mounted up high, and has a large range where it is. Everything is working just perfectly.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Challenging instalation You really need a professional to install because its plastic and has unique parts that are necessary to install it and if you don't have the patience or aren't mechanically inclined installation it is a difficult puzzle that you might not be able to solve or you might just brake the fragile parts.

This is a great product if you need the sort of thing, has a lot of great software features and the battery lasts a very long time, easy to install he could have it working within minutes. We have a few of them, one in front the turns on the front lights when people arrive at night on dark, we have a few in the back it turns on the side lights in the yard, within the software you could set one minute to minute three minute or however long you need the lights to stay on before it goes off again.

Rated 1 de 5 de par I returned the all of the HUE products. They did... I returned the all of the HUE products. They did not meet my expectations for Lighting at all. The app/software should’ve been simple to configure and set up and it was the opposite. I returned it for a Ring solution at the same price point and got 4x the lighting coverage and an app that was up and automating within minutes. Sorry Phillips

Very responsive and my back light turns on when motion is detected. It also has a light sensor so the lights only come on when the light is below a certain level. I have one in the front and one in the back.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Nice device, but like all Hue a little over priced. The main reason I didn't do 5 stars is the cost seems high for this. Works great though. I've got it setup to put my floods to high when triggered then return to low after 5 minutes.

Will it work at night and in daylight? Can it detect cats and dogs?
Posée par: Morgan
Yes, there is a setting within the app to control what the device does both during the day and night. In addition to a time setting there is a light setting so the detector will not operate if too bright outside if you want, or you can have it work all the time. I am quite certain it will detect cats and dogs as there is a setting for how sensitive the motion detection is. I mounted mine outside to trip a light inside and it works great so far.

Does this work with Apple HomeKit??

Posée par: Khan
Yes! Philips Hue is compatible with Apple HomeKit. To connect Philips Hue to Apple HomeKit, you need the Philips Hue app (version 9.3 or higher) and the Bridge v2 (square-shaped). Open the Philips Hue app and navigate to Settings > HomeKit and Siri. Follow the on-screen prompts to create a new Home for Siri voice control. Apple HomeKit automatically opens your camera so you can scan the HomeKit code found on the bottom of your Philips Hue Bridge. After successfully pairing your HomeKit to your Bridge, you can control your lights with your voice using Siri.

What is the latency of this. Is it bluetooth to save energy? I have found bluetooth has a higher latency.
Posée par: Colorado
I purchased this and use it with a smart bridge. There is about a 1 second latency once tripped and the device works great. The HUE smart bridge plugs wired into the router and acts as the brain and can be purchased at Home Depot. All lights and accessories, including this motion detector, communicate with the smart bridge wirelessly which in turn controls other devices. An app for the smart phone allows for programming. Bluetooth is a device to device technology which I have not explored with this accessory.

I have an issue with deer in my garden right outside my back door, can this be used to send an alert to our iPhones so we can loose the dogs (or as I like to say "let slip the Dogs of war!!!") to scare them away? Also is there a way to set some type of buzzer, whistle or other loud noise in order to train the deer that the dogs are coming? BTW, we have a bridge outside the house to give the patio WiFi service so network access is not an issue.
Posée par: EndDeerTyranny
They make motion sensor water sprinklers but the deer get used to them. I guess I am looking for a scarecrow with a brain!

If this is battery operated... what is the temperature rating? Wouldn't the battery freeze in negative temperatures? Curious as this is sold in Canada.

Posée par: yyc_diy
• IP rating: IP54 • Minimal battery lifetime: 2 year(s). The sensor has been tested to work in rain and at temperatures between -20 degrees Celsius (-4 Fahrenheit) to 55 degrees Celsius (131 Fahrenheit). At temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius (86 Fahrenheit), the performance of the sensor may be reduced. The sensor remains operational below -20 degrees Celsius (-4 Fahrenheit), but the batteries may drain faster or may not be able to provide sufficient energy to the device. If you use the sensor for longer periods of time, we recommend that you replace the batteries with AA Li-ion batteries, which perform better at lower temperatures.

Does the required Phillips Hue bridge work with a VPN?

Posée par: Thomas
A reliable VPN should take in account products that are within the local network but we can't guarantee that's the case. Out of home control would/should work if the Bridge was setup before.
