Rated 1 de 5 de par misleading This ad for this product is misleading. The picture shows the fireplace doors closed with a roaring fire going. When you get it, unpack it to the point it can't be returned; you find the instructions that say in big print " Doors can not be closed with a fire in the fireplace." We wanted it to damper and control the fire; it is useless!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Easy installation and looks great! I purchased this unit and it was very well packed and in perfect condition upon opening it. I had a hard time understanding the written installation instructions as the parts list wasn't exactly what was in the box (screws), however, I found a great online video that walked you through the instructions in a very simple and easy to understand manner. It went up in minutes and was very easy to install. It helped to have my husband hold the unit against the fireplace while I installed the brackets because when you open the doors to reach inside, it makes it very front end heavy. It looks great and I am very happy with the purchase.

The installation instructions seemed a little intimidating but they were obviously written by someone who has a competent command of English and they were accurate, so everything went smoothly. I think it looks great. Personal preference - I've had bi-fold glass door sets with curtain-style screens before. I vastly prefer this cabinet style where both the doors and the screens open on hinges. The magnetic latches are working great so far. BTW I'm 72 years old and I performed the installation by myself.

It looks great - Modern with clean lines! (Exactly like the photo as shown on HD website) It keeps out dust and particles from the fireplace (due to down drafts from the chimney) and keeps the hearth clean . It completes the newly refaced fireplace a finished look! A handyman installed it and he took a little longer than expected only because the lintel bar in my fireplace is a flat piece, not "L" shape as indicated in the instruction. I highly recommend this fireplace doors!

Rated 4 de 5 de par Give a great modern look to my old masonary fireplace Very nice modern design and easy to install. the quality is pretty good and the price reasonable compared to what is on the market. The only thing that I would complain is that the "thick, heat-resistant insulation" is not enough at all so you need to probably buy some separately in order to insulate the fireplace completely.

Took about an hour to install because I have a very non-traditional and very old fireplace. The doors are well made, they look nice, and they're great for initial fire starts. I shut the doors when I first start the fire and the doors keep out the smoke on a cold flue. When I'm ready to retire for the evening, I just shut the doors (when fire has died down) and I don't have to worry about any hot coals jumping out onto the floor. My only criticism is I don't understand why they aren't using glass that can be shut during fires. Also, it would be great if the manufacturer had the option of connecting a blower on this set. That would be awesome as my fireplace likes to suck the heat out of my house. Other than that, great set of fireplace doors. Yes, I would recommend them.

You are not able to fully remove them, however you can leave them open fairly wide if you prefer to have a more open view. They open quite widely to give you that open feel.

the overall height of the large unit is 33" or, 29" if you do not include the riser bar. the unit is stabilized against the inside of the firebox with various clamps. (but it sits outside of the firebox, against the fireplace brick, stone, etc.)

I am not an expert but I can't see why using these doors would be an issue for you if you use them as recommended, which is with the doors OPEN when there's a fire in your fireplace. But if you want to know whether you can use them with the doors CLOSED when there's a fire you your fireplace, I'd suggest you contact the manufacturer or installer of your gas logs. The question isn't so much one of whether you can use THESE glass doors when operating your gas logs, it's more one of whether you can use ANY glass doors when operating your gas logs. If it's safe to use any glass doors with your gas logs, I'm pretty sure these would be fine.
