Rated 5 de 5 de par Contractor/Carpenter What I like most about this product is the compact size as compared to other brands. It allows the user to get in tight spaces inorder to complete the task at hand. I found that as long as you oil the nailer according to manufacturer specs and due minor routine cleaning the nailer functions like new every time. I have been using mine for 5 years and never had any problems. I find it perfect to use on base moulding, door and window trim, and just about anything else that requires fastening. A hammer is a thing of the past, this tool cuts down working time by at least 50%.

Rated 2 de 5 de par porter cable 16 gauge nailer Home owner, moderate use, dont remember a single jam, kept it lubercated, then driver in gun wouldnt fully retract for next nail, phoned porter cable, surprised at good customer support, suggested i needed repair kit for about $90., in the trash. I tried any way to disassemble gun, allen wrenches supplied, screws were so tight or thread lock applied that a few allen screws stripped out, couldnt repair if i wanted too. Will definetly buy another 16 gauge nailer, definetly Not porter cable. I own other porter cable products for wood working, never a problem with them, this was the newest product from the company I bought, hope this isnt an example of their now quality.

This 16 ga nail gun lasted about 2 months of daily use until a seal inside went. Always followed manufactures specifications for oil on the 16ga. Would not recommend for daily use, More for a backup or homeowner. It did work well while it worked. Ran between 75-85 psi only had a few jams and went threw about 10,000 nails.

Rated 4 de 5 de par I bought several sets of Porter Cable Air Compressors and... I bought several sets of Porter Cable Air Compressors and nail guns. The first set was stolen, so I replaced it. This nail gun out of the second set worked well. Several days ago while using it, it fell about four feet, not very hard, and now it won't function. A rebuild kit was $55 and a new gun was $129, so I bought a new gun. Could not justify trying to fix the old one and spending almost half of the cost of a new one. Have not used the new one yet. Only gave it four stars because that fall should not have killed the old one. I have about as dozen guns and have used some for forty years. Good gun, just not tough enough for construction.

Rated 5 de 5 de par BEST GUN I EVER USED My old one is 5yrs old with 100's of hrs of use ,gave it to my dad (3 gun combo) and I went out and bought a new one(3 gun combo) BEST TRIM GUNS ON THE MARKET!!!!!! I do remodeling so I'm constantly using them with almost every job. Rubber nose can be taken off for that hard to get shot on heavy angles to sink nailhead

Rated 2 de 5 de par Leaking air through trigger only I bought this gun about 4-5 years ago and have only used it about 3 times at most. Used it about 2 weeks ago and it was working. Picked it up to use it again and is leaking air through trigger and won’t shoot a nail. For a DIY person I don’t work on the tools, I want them to work for me when I need them

Rated 2 de 5 de par For the money...I'd go elsewhere I used this nailer doing a job replacing all the base in a theatre, and I constantly had problems with it misfiring and jamming. Every couple of minutes I'd fire and there would be no nail coming out, just indentations into the base. After shimmying with it for a moment I'd get it righted, only to have the same thing happen soon after. For the money, I'd go with a different brand.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Get the Combo I bought the Porter cable Compressor combo that came with 3 nail guns about 3 months ago. All guns and compressor work great, this 2-1/2 finish nailer is Awesome and lives up to the Porter cable name. My Porter cable framing nailer is still going strong after 13 years. Tip; keep all your air tools oiled, and drain your air compressor before and after every use and your tools will last a long time. Home Depot is the best, they provide great tools, a great warranty and always have Professional staff to help with your questions and project needs.

Does this nail gun have a safety, and if so, where is it?

Posée par: UncleC26
The "safety" is a grey tab behind the trigger that can be moved to mechanically block the trigger so it cannot be pulled. In addition, the foot must be depressed before a nail can be fired. There are two triggers included: The red single-shot trigger that comes pre-installed requires one pull per nail. The black "bump" trigger would allow a nail to be fired each time the foot is depressed as long as the trigger is held.

Can this nail a wood furring strip into concrete/cinderblock?

Posée par: Katie
No. The nails this uses are just thin finish nails. They would not penetrate concrete.

Hi can i use this nail gun for framing like building shed or patio cover, thank you
Posée par: hammer
this gun is a finish nailer basically. It will work nicely for installing the slats or pickets in your hand rails. and fastening your trim. in No way is it a Framing nailer

can this gun use 16 guage brads

Posée par: Larry
Porter calls their 16-gauge nailer a "finish" nailer. It takes 16 gauge "finish" nails. I think Porter uses "brad" for their 18-gauge nailer. The nails come in packages that usually make it clear what brand and nailer they are for.

Posée par: Glassgal
I think it's all round perfect. I had a 15 Ga. (Which will work to) but 16ga. Doesn't solit boards if its thin or near the ends. I put all the molding & trim up in my while house with itnh
