Rated 5 de 5 de par 5 Star Review Rating provided by a verified purchaser

Rated 5 de 5 de par This is the with out a doubt the most heavy duty broom I have ever seen. Where the handle of the broom is connected to the bristle head is all Metal. The support arms are steel held by steel bolts and screws. The end of the handle is in a casting secured to the head by a lag bolt. This broom is really strong at the ends of the head, that is usually when force applied it usually snaps the handle. The handle is press fit into a tapered casting and it is held in place with a good sized screw, so no more loose twisting and wiggle brooms. The bristles are a bit stiff to use on smooth surface, but as the name says it all on a medium to rough surface this broom will give great results. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 de 5 de par Good broom Purchased this broom to replace an older one I need to replace. Found this one at Home Depot and thought I would give it a try. The bristles seem to be good and stiff and should hold up for outside use. After using it a couple of time was very pleased. The bristles are not made of steel and seem to pick up about 99% of the debris I sweep up Very pleased so far. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 de 5 de par Good Broom I like the way that the handle is attached to the broom head. Instead of just being screwed into the head there is a metal piece between the handle and the head that is locked into two slots in the head and bolted to the handle. As well as that there is also bracing from the handle to the head. I did notice that the handle seemed short and when I compared it to my other broom it is actually shorter. This handle is 54” long and my other broom is 58”. This one has a grip at the top of the handle and it you hold it there it seems to work fine. I’m 5’ 11” and I think the handle length is probably fine but if you were much taller it could be a problem. I see another reviewer had the handle break. I think there must have been something wrong with that particular handle as the one I have seems really solid. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 de 5 de par recommended with reservations As with any tool, quality in a broom means less compromise between doing a good job and doing a quick job. Cleaning up is necessary, but it's likely to be the least creative chore in any day, so spending a little more $ to spend less time doing it makes sense. This broom works well, but it's good that apparently it can only be bought in stores since quality control is deficient. That doesn't mean quality is deficient, but you need to select a straight, smooth, solid handle because some have tool-chattered, cracked and spalt handles. When you get home, take out 10, 11 & 13 mm wrenches and snug the hardware. If you chose the right width and bristle for your particular application, you now have a decent broom. Steel struts bolted to hardwood are stronger than cheap plastic screwed into even cheaper plastic. The handle should be longer, of course, for proper balance and sweeping stroke, but this one is sufficient, and if it's too annoying it's easily replaced.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Handle broke the first day of very light use I researched this line of push brooms and opted for one with the "7/8 in. solid hardwood block" instead of one with a plastic block because of the many reviews about the plastic block breaking. I examined the solid hardwood block in the store, and the steel supports, and this certainly looked sturdy enough to avoid the block breaking issue. But just sweeping stuff that could easily have been managed by a softer, lighter broom (which is what I ended up using the rest of the day), the handle snapped. Weird. In examining the wood, I wonder if it was a production failure to weed out sapwood or something. The handle is extremely lightweight, and the area where it snapped has the look and feel of sapwood, to my not-an-expert eye. The push broom that bailed us out was one that "came with the house" we bought in 2007, seemed old then, and has very worn bristles, but is still going strong. I'm taking this disappointment back to Home Depot. Were it not for the handle, I would have given at least 4 stars to the quality rating, and five to the value rating.
