I purchased this to patch holes in the bottom of my pool before I repaint it.(Last year to do this, then comes the big expense of plaster). The material sets up VERY fast. I only get about 3 minutes before it becomes too hard. It,s very gritty, so I tried to smooth it out with a damp hand, but that just weakens the outer edge to a powder. It will have to do for what I was hoping, time will tell. I read on Pintrest that someone else had tried it, so I thought what the heck. I am sure if I had a deep hole or crack that was easy to get the material into, it would work perfect. Just be sure you mix small amounts and WORK FAST.

I used this on the inside of my block basement wall as the winter snow melted and water seeped in. The wall was not waterproofed before backfilling and so it's not surprising that there is water seepage. The product will definitely plug a hole but it is not a cure. If you have water seepage through the block and attempt to skim coat the block from the inside, it cannot be done if the wall is wet and even after that, water will bleed through the product. This product is helps as a temporary fix but the only way to stop water with negative pressure is to waterproof from the outside.

Two months later and plenty of rain, I have zero leaks in my basement. I don’t usually do reviews but this stuff made a believer out of me.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Fixing a hole where the rain comes in Electrical service to my well was ran through the foundation of my house. The electrical service was probably installed 20 years ago. Of course it started to leak. I dug down outside about 4' and re-routed the conduit. Then I used the product to fill the hole. It rained the day I finished the fill and no water entered my basement. Very satisfied!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Works As Advertised Used this to fill a leaking crack in my foundation. Followed the directions and it worked quite well. Sets up quickly, so only mix and use a small amount at a time.

Rated 5 de 5 de par This stuff works Had a thin line leak between the block foundation and the slab in our basement. House was built 1972. I 1st eliminated the possibility of the drain pipe for the rain spout backing up & overflowing. Once I confirmed that (and fixed it since the pipe where the spout joins was below grade which is wrong) I still had a leak. Dried the area & applied a small amount of quickrete & let dry. Have had 2 rain event & 1 which was heavy. ZERO leaks. I'm happy!

We used it to fill voids in a sea wall, not exactly its intended use. It was wonderful. It cures in just minutes, and is hard as a rock, and will not crumble. If you have not used it before, compare it to auto body bondo. There is no "Hardner." Our suggestion is to mix a very small amount in a small container first to gauge the work time. There are a few very helpful U-tubes and the Quikrete information Video on line is excellent. I would give it an A++++, but learn about it first.

Will it work on cracks in driveways

Will it work on cracks in driveways
Posée par: Chief
My experience with this product in the driveway was a disaster. It looked good for awhile but as the cars ran over it, it broke all up, now I have a mess to clean up. So I would say a big no.

I had a simliar problem, but what I did was mix it to the proper consistence and trial it in the area approx 16" x 4"... in retrospect , I should have mixed on the thin side let that settle in and on the small cracks. Then after drying time trial in on top wth regular mixture. After dried I painted on DryLox. Kept my fingers crossed to see what happened after a couple heavy rains, so far, so good.

I mixed a small amount by hand in a cottage cheese container. You need to use it right away - within a few minutes. It sets up fast. So only mix what you can apply in about 5 minutes. I followed the instructions very carefully, measuring out the water and cement powder on a food scale. It was a bit dry - I had to a little water but not much more. Work fast - you don't have much time to get it applied.

QUIKRETE Hydraulic Water Stop Cement is designed to set very rapidly; only a golf-ball sized portion should be mixed at once. For your application, we recommend Sand (Topping) Mix #1103, using Concrete Acrylic Fortifier (#8610) as a partial replacement of the mixing water.

I used the hydraulic cement last night to fix a new leak in our basement. SW Ohio received an insane amount of rain yesterday. Praise the Lord it was on the unfinished side and we saw the water before it hit the finished part. If it's just a crack, the instructions advise you to chisel out concrete so there's room to pack in the cement. Just skim coating over the crack isn't going to cut it. I had to chisel out approx 3 ft of a crack (made it about 3/4" wide x 3/4" deep) while it was actively leaking. It definitely seemed counterproductive at first. When I started packing in the hydraulic cement, it worked right away. I started at the top of where I chiseled and went all the way to the floor. Checked it a few times since last night and it's still dry. Since it's on the unfinished side, I'm just going to leave it and keep an eye on it. Time will tell if it's a permanent solution to that crack.

QUIKRETE® Hydraulic Water-Stop Cement is designed to set 3-5 minutes after water addition. It would be unusable if premixed with water.
