Rated 5 de 5 de par Excellent product Very easy to install, works as promised.. equal watering regardless of length of run. Only suggestion is to add markings at emitter locations on all sides of hose. Use the press fit couplers; not the insertable couplers.. they are very hard to insert.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great system. I have installed this emitter tubing throughout all of my gardens. It is a wonderful relief to know that my gardens can be easily and efficiently watered without taxing my time or my well. Fairly easily installed by an old lady with cane. In photo, front garden is mulched over tubing; back garden needs more plants then mulch.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Works well if installing in straight line Great if you’re running it in a straight line. Had to replace old soaker hose in hedges and optimally wanted to weave the emitter tubing thru the base of the cedars. Huge pain, had to un-kink in multiple locations and even cut and couple in a few as well. Works well just a pain to install.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Emitters too far apart The tubing is easy to work with and attach to the tees and elbows but the emitters are 18 inches apart which is too far unless you run several tubes close together. We ended up adding other drip heads.

Rated 5 de 5 de par The cats meow The emitter tubing is the cats meow. It works great for watering around trees and shrubs. Quick easy to install - small 2"-3" trench lay in tubing - hook up water supply - cover - that easy. The Home Depot has the best pricing I've found this year.

According to the rainbird website, there is tubing that has emitters every 12" apart, but I cannot find it. Can I add emitters to this tube in between the emitters that are already in the tube (e.g. so they are every 9")?

Posée par: Paprika
I have never found 12" tubing either except in the 1/4" tubing. While you can add emitters in between, it is not necessary to a landscape garden because most landscape plants are spaced 18 inches apart or more. With landscape gardens, I only add extra emitters specifically for plants that require more water like hydrangeas. For vegetables, you should use the 1/4" tubing which can be run off of the 1/2" tubing for short runs, or run off of the 1/2" black distribution tubing for your dedicated vegetable garden water supply..

what is the max pressure this line will work with and how long of run can you do with it ie200'

Posée par: Ron C
Rain bird 1/2" emitter tubing used for drip irrigation uses a pressure of 25 psi. Your household pressure should be at least 10-15 psi above this, and you would require their pressure regulator or equivalent to reduce the pressure for proper operation. Maximum run length is listed at 250' or 240 gph, calculated by adding the total of all emitters in the line.

You say this product is not suitable to be buried, I thought everyone buried their drip line under the mulch. I would like to bury it under the mulch, should I purchase the tubing with the copper instead? Can the copper infused drip line be used like traditional tubing, using t’s and elbows rather than running in line with the male female ends?
Posée par: Bk
Burying under mulch is not as likely to cause a problem as burying underground. When buried underground roots from plants are more likely to grow and clog emitters. The copper drip line is designed to prevent roots from clogging emitters, and is therefore the most appropriate for burying underground.

Is this suitable for vegetable beds where some vegetables are as close as 4" spacing or less?
Posée par: Ben
Rain Bird offers 1/4" tubing with drippers spaced 6" apart or .70 tubing with drippers spaced 12" apart. Due to the smaller size of 1/4" tubing, however, you should limit the length of your tubing run to 30 feet to ensure you get enough water flow throughout. Models are ET256-50S for the 1/4" tubing and ET7012100S for the .70 tubing.

I see that the recommended maximum length of a 1/2" system is about 240 feet for a system operating at the recommended 25 PSI. I do not want to have two zones. Just one timer for the whole system and one water source. If I have a 500 foot system can I run it at a higher PSI, say 50 PSI so long as the individual runs connect on both ends to a distribution feeder ?
Posée par: sparks
This is not recommended, as you run the risk of the drip watering devices not performing per their intended specification and/or blowing out fittings over time.
