Although the front of the packaging states 1/2" ... the actual inside diameter is not .5", it is actually .6"! The .6" diameter is stated in small print on the back of the packaging. What the!!! These folks at Rain-bird need to learn basic math. 1/2" equals .5", not .6". That extra .1" makes this product useless with their own 1/2" coupling for drip irrigation. I bought this product and attempted to use a Rain-bird 1/2" pipe coupling for drip irrigation to attach it to my existing 1/2" line and it simply will not hold, it just slips out! That extra 1/10th of an inch means this is not a 1/2" line. So their own product doesn't work with their other product which are both supposed to be 1/2". Now I have to drive back to Home Depot to return the Not 1/2" tubing. Thanks for making me have to take another drive to return this item Rain-bird.

Rated 1 de 5 de par The most rigid tubing ever used in my history... Sadly they say this blank tubing is "flexible" and, if you consider a cardboard tube flexible- well then so is this tubing. I have scoured the bet trying to find exactly what it is, and the makeup seems to be "polyvinyl" though truely go out and get some 1/2 " super flex tubing, costs 4 times more, but when you cut a section of this- it WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE REGARDLESS OF STAKING IT DOWN... Terrible products now coming from this name- stay away, you will thank me.

This particular type of tubing works best for drip irrigation system since it is easier to puncture to install emitters than thicker wall 1/2" tubing . However because of the slightly larger ID, if using 1/2" Rainbird valves one needs to use clamps for prevent valve from disengaging under pressure.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Worry Free Watering for my garden I bought couple hundred feet of this hose to set up automatic watering for my vegetable garden. Light weight and good quality hose at a great price. I simply punched hole at every foot and inserted droppers. I attached it to the water outlet with a timer. Now it waters my plants as per my set schedule and allows me to travel out of the area for few days. Now I do not have to worry about watering.

What is the difference between Rain Bird 1/2 in x 100 ft Distribution Tubing and Rain Bird 1/2 in x 50 ft Drip irrigation tubing coil? Price is almost the same despite length difference.

Posée par: Neko
I think just buying in bulk is cheaper.

Will this take regular faucet water pressure or strictly for drip irrigation water supply? I plan to connect this tube to 2 impact sprinklers by barbs and connectors and supply water from outdoor faucet.

Posée par: Max44
he will take the pressure easily! rate for 70 psi but it might be to small for two sprinklers ! look the specification of the sprinkler!

Can this tubing be used underground? To provide piping to a single maxi-paw sprinkler?

Posée par: Dave
The simple answer is yes it can be used for a single sprinkler.  The qualifier on this is it depends on the operating pressure of your system (I run at 65psi), the length of tubing you are using (the longer the length the less efficient your system is) and the number of bends or fittings since they add to drop in flow out to the head. Hope this helps.

can this be run underground, about 75 feet for drip irrigation on my garden

I want to run this below ground to supply drip irrigation to my garden
Posée par: kdt1970
I think you are looking to install an underground sprinkler system. If you want drip irrigation it’s usually above ground. Otherwise You can dig a little shallow path for your hose and cover it up with mulch. Or bury a larger 1.5”+ diameter pvc pipe deep underground and stick the tubing through the larger diameter pvc for easy removal without interrupting the roots if you plan on planting above the tube.

Is it drinking water fda approved? If not, what product of this type is drinking water safe. Thx.

Posée par: TraderHome
Good question. I do not know whether it is FDA approved or not but since it is designed to use in garden for watering flower as well as vegetable plants I would assume that it would be safe to use as long as it is not exposed to high temperatures. Usually, high temperatures can leach out chemicals.

No. In Michigan where ground will freeze several feet during the winter months this line will freeze and crack. Please use product designed for underground sprinkler system.
