Great accessory for the shelf supportsThese work well with the Richelieu self supports and creates a sturdy support that is secure yet easy to reposition at different heights for adjustable shelving. Used together they make a quick, solid and great looking shelf support.
Can these be used in drywall to support a glass shelf?
If not, what can I use?

I would suggest that this will, over the long run, not be a suitable application. By drilling into the drywall you will weaken that area and the socket is not long enough to be secured in drywall. If you even try to put a nail in drywall and it is not long enough or does not hit a stud it really has no supporting strength and this is before adding the weight of a glass shelf and then whatever would be placed on the shelf. If you are going to have more than 1 shelf I would suggest using a item known as a Standard which are metal and can be installed through the drywall and into a stud. They have varying slot adjustments and different size brackets can be purchased depending on your use. I know that on the HDC ecommerce site you can find versions of these items and at store level can be found both in hardware and in the shelving areas of the store.
