Rated 5 de 5 de par Great Vacuum I've used this vac for about 6 months and it's been very impressive since day one. It sucks hard! It'll suck up anything that fits in the hose (concrete, nails/screws, broken tile & mortor)It's very portable and the locking hose let's it follow you around the room. Cord is plenty long. The only time suction starts to suffer is when the tub gets full or dust clogs the filter, which is true for any vacuum. The tub is small, but I quickly got a feel for when it was full. I recommend this little vacuum.

It is small and if you are trying to get other accessories for it, forget it. The accessories that Home Depot sells is not is very limited for this vacuum! From the outside it looks like it will hold a fair amount but that is not the case. When you open it up and see the size of the filter there is not alot of room for anything else.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Disappointed, but not horrible Probably not the right vacuum for me, but it is hard for me to see where this unit would shine. Im a DIY guy doing maintenance and light construction around the house, sucking up nails, saw dust, sanding fines, and general debris. With impressive specs I hoped to have the power of a large vac in a small package. Unfortunately I feel it is well under powered in spite of the 5.0 peak. Even with a fresh filter it struggles picking up finish nails, and sheetrock screws are a absolute no. And with the small capacity, the filter is small so it gets clogged and loses power quickly, a point I overlooked in deciding to try the vacuum. I'm sure this would be fine if used very rarely and lightly, and on the rare spilt bucket of water. I'm sorry I can't recommend, I had high hopes, and would return for a larger unit if I could.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Super powerful, Super handy, Small footprint I’ve had this vac for over 3 years and I still havent lost my love for it. Lots of power, and with the wheels it makes cleaning around the house, cars, or jobsite a breeze. You might get nervous about the capacity but its not bad at all. I find that I nornally need to thump the filter in the street a few times to get all the fine dust/sawdust out. Be sure to turn on for 3 seconds outside after cleaning the filter or a dust cloud is in your future. As with all high powered vacuums, this is a pretty loud vac when you’re within a few feet of it. Im usually wearing headphones when working. Another win for this vac is the cord length is nice, I want to say around 15’ which wraps eaisly around the handle area. This vac won’t disappoint. I promise.

The directions for attaching the enclosed bag are incorrect, but there is a YouTube video that explains how to install it properly. The hose, tubes and attachments are such that they tilt at an awkward angle. It was impossible to make the smooth sweeping type motions of the 15 15 year old 4.5 HP vac I was replacing. It might be fine for cleaning the car, but it would take forever to vacuum the basement, so it is going back to the store tomorrow.

Is this big enough vacuum for wet vacuuming? There is just about 2" gap only between the suction cup and the canister bottom, seems like too little for any wet work, isn't it? Thank you

    Posée par: Customer
Hello RIDGID Customer, Thanks for asking! This vacuum does a great job in picking up small amounts of water such as leaks, spills, cleaning wet carpet or floors. You could use the supplied filter for small amounts of wet pickup or buy a separate wet foam filter VF3700 to further protect the motor. If you have further questions, please call us at 1-800-474-3443 from Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time and we'll be glad to assist you. Thanks, RIDGID

Had this machine almost 10 years and today was using, turned off and would not come back on again. (had been using for dryer lint so nothing big and drastic) I cannot find the bill - does anyone know if Ridgid will stand behind it. Weekend - can't call.

    Posée par: jancamp

How is this for sucking up water from a 250 gal. water tank?

    Posée par: decoratordale
It is powerful to pick up the water, however, you may want to consider getting a larger vacuum. With this vacuum sucking up close to 1 gallon per minute, you would be emptying the drum very frequently. This 4 gal, is recommended more for accidental spills than for large volumes of water.

I bought a wd 40700 vacuum and it said to use a vf 3501 bag. On the bag it says to put the bag on between the two rings on the intake. My vacuum only has one ring, so I put it on between the one ring and the housing. Do I need a different intake.

    Posée par: Jack
Don't worry, you've done it right. The inlet now only has one ring, and it is enough to hold that bag's elastic mouth in place.

will adding a 2 1/2 inch hose to this vacuum give me more or less suction or no difference in performance

    Posée par: Anonyme
You will have less suction - but it may not be noticeable. Think of blowing a pea through a straw - or a pringles tube... the larger your pipe diameter, the more air required to move an object through it. That being said, the difference may be measured in a lab, but I have used my 2" shop vac hose and it performed OK.. not great - but "ok".
