Rated 5 de 5 de par NICE IMPROVEMENT OVER GEN5X Have had this drill for about a month to replace the previous model Great feature as with all ridgid cordless is the batteries are interchangeable with older model tools. drill is very powerful. It is a bit heavy but well balanced, even when mated to a 5ah battery. I have found the brushless design delivers a bit more power and a noticeable difference in battery life. I would suggest taking the money you save buying this drill over other brands and get an upgraded battery. I use this primarily for wood, and have found the chuck accurate enough to firmly seat a number 40 drill and powerful enough to cut (10) 4" holes through 1 1/2" ply.on a single battery Great Drill!

However, Ridgid has a lifetime warranty that is a hassle to sign up for. They claim that they cannot match the product information to my sales order number from HD so I have to mail them the original receipt within 90 days of purchase. Come on. Its just a way to make the registration more complex, trip people up on timing, and hopefully knock out as many lifetime warranties as possible. They want the "original" receipt. What is an "original" receipt from an online order? Wanna bet they end up denying the lifetime warranty on some technicality or claim to have never received the documentation.

The trigger does not allow true variable speed control. Just a gentle squeeze and the chuck whirls at at least 250RPM. That does not work for controlled screw driving, especially regular slotted screws. If this was represented as JUST a hammer drill without any mention of screw driving ability, it might get a five star from me. I own and use daily, RIDGID's 18 volt hammer drill/driver and could not be happier with it. If they can get true VS triggers for their brushless drills, I will try them again and most likely love the tool. Until then, don't expect to be able to control screw driving with this drill.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Design flaw I wanted upgrade my next drill set to brushless,I mistakingly purchased the brushed kit at first and had to return it but not before noticing something that bugged me especially since i was "upgrading" to brushless. When you squeeze the trigger on the brushless hammer drill, it does not start out slow instead it starts out over 100 rpms, the brushed version was not like this nor was the brushless impact driver that this drill came with as a set, looks like its a tradeoff, more control or more battery life, hope this helps someone

Rated 3 de 5 de par Nice Drill but the lifetime warranty is a struggle I give this product 5 stars but the registration for the lifetime service agreement (reason I purchased this drill over others) HAS BEEN A STRUGGLE! I don’t understand why Rigid cannot automatically register your product when you make your purchase. Instead, I had to go to the RIGID website and fill out a form. Weeks later I receive an email from RIGID saying they are having trouble correlating my drill/charger/battery to a purchase receipt (didn’t they sell me the item?- I bought it online?). This made it necessary to make a trip to my local Home Depot store to sort out the paperwork and receipt and fax everything to RIGID... To date I still do not know for sure if I am registered for the lifetime service agreement?

Rated 4 de 5 de par Solid drill Over the past few years, I have invested in the Ridgid 18 volt line. This drill seems to be very solid. Now, I am not a tradesman, and I will not be running this hard all the time, but the fit and feel of this drill should last me a long time. Specs: 7-1/2" long Rpm 0-550/0-2100 Bpm 0-27500 Torque 700 in/lb Now torque listed is usually measured with no load, so it's more a marketing tactic. However, this drill will sink a 5/16" x 3" lag bolt into a 6x6 pressure treated with no pilot hole. For my use, that is plenty of torque for my purposes.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Great Drill This is a great drill. I own the brushed Gen 5x hammer drill and the new Milwaukee M18 Fuel 2704 hammerdrill. This drill is in the middle of the two. I love the 2,100 rpm on speed two. It seems to run more solid than the brushed version but the brushed version is still a solid drill. The only minor complaint I have is the loudness of it, especially when it's stopping. It has a high pitch kind of squeal. It's much louder than my brushed Gen5x and my Milwaukee 2704. Again, this is only a minor complaint. It's not like I'm going to be drilling in a Library or anything. As someone who owns multiple cordless platforms and not a hardcore supporter to one brand, I would definitely recommend this drill to anyone. The cost is a plus but I would recommend this drill even if it cost more.

Easily and effortlessly makes short work of even the most difficult drilling tasks that I've tried so far. Cut right through stainless steel and drilled into hardened concrete pillars and the battery lasted longer than the same battery in my compact impact driver. Other guys on the job site who had yellow, red or blue drills were jealous of what my drill could do and quite upset when I told them what I had paid for it. Registering for the LSA was a real pain, but if I ever have to use it will be well worth it. Thanks RIDGID!

Has anyone had success with registering for the lifetime service agreement online?

Posée par: John
The issue is that it is difficult if not impossible to get the phone agents at the Ridgid call center to consistently do their jobs. I called multiple times and something that seemed impossible one day, was easy for the agent the next time I called. If you have the receipt number, the kit#feom the box you should be able to complete the online submission. After a couple of weeks you get either a confirmation, or a request for more information (computer generated). You can sometimes call and get them to review the application. If they don't grant it. I suggest returning the item to Home Depot. I have done so and given the feedback that the item worked but I could not get warranty applied so returning.

Does this drill carry your lifetime warrenty?

Posée par: Wml
It can, it requires that you the purchaser register it for the LSA (Lifetime Service agreement) within the required period. More details on the LSA are located on Ridgids webite at https://www.ridgid.com/us/en/three-year-limited-lsa

the input voltage for the drill charger,is it 220V OR 110 V?

Posée par: Rawad
110 Volt. This is an outstanding drill. I own several cordless drills but this one is so much better then all of them. It is diffidently my go to drill. Buy it. You will be happy you did.
