We got a ring doorbell about a year and a half ago and have been pleased with how it works. The only downside was having to recharge the battery every couple months. When we heard about this motion activated flood light that was hard wired, we thought of giving it a try. They both work from the same app on our phones, so it seemed like a really easy addition to make. So we've had it now for about a month. We really enjoy the "live view" mode for checking on activity in our back alley. It also has very good resolution. If you have an existing floodlight, it's really simple to replace with the Ring Floodlight. The instructions were very simple to follow.

It is simply amazing, I find myself turning it on during the day just to see what's going on. The Ring Floodlight Camera was easy for me to install, I had an existing Floodlight over my driveway that was 15+ years old so it was due for a replacement. I have the Ring doorbell at my front door and love it so thought it would be perfect to have it on my driveway and be able to keep an eye on things. We've had a recent increase in car break-ins within my neighborhood so having this floodlight camera really helps me feel like I know what's going on. Installation was so easy.

We purchased our unit from Home Depot on 4/8/2018 and it worked all summer long, during the rainy season and all. Two weeks ago the lights would not come on. They flicker on/off constantly. I went up today to see what was wrong and both bulbs are full of water. The are non-replaceable items and the unit is now worthless. I am hoping that they will honor their 1-year warranty but I haven't heard back yet. In my opinion, these are not suitable for outdoor use unless you can find a way to waterproof the unit yourself. Our installation was against our house (replacing an existing flood lamp), under an ease and out of direct rain and sun (north facing).

I've owned the Ring doorbell and Stickup Cam since these products launched and love the security and peace of mind they offer. I ordered the Floodlight camera when it came out to provide coverage our patio area and it replaced an existing floodlight. Having the added camera and motion sensitive floodlight system is great. The images are crisp and high definition. The motion sensor system performs great with options to turn off alerts, activate a siren and turn off/on the light. I highly recommend this and Ring's other cameras for any home or business owner.

While the manufacturer implies this is as easy as hanging on a wall mount, it is not. It is not possible to get the motion sensor level to the ground. You can get it close, but if you’re hanging it below 10’ I would suggest finding an alternative. Hanging lower than that would not give much range for motion detection. Also when hanging on a soffit, to get the camera pointed where you want it you have to sacrifice significant portion of the field for adjusting the light direction. If mounted on a wall you can point both the camera and lights anywhere in the range and not have them interfering with one another.

It tells you when somebody is coming up the driveway. And gives you the option of live view. Which then you can just watch or turn on the alarm her turn the lights off and on. It's just a great way to be secure and know who is around your house. We are so very happy with this flood light. It was very easy to hook up I had it hooked up and running with Wi-Fi in approximately 30 minutes.

The Ring floodlight camera is a very innovative new technology that Ring has recently released that makes it easy to monitor your home with a hardwired camera that activates with lights and sirens if you have an intruder. Also, with new App releases that make it easy to use if you have a previous Ring System. My absolute favorite part about the device is it uses the same motion detection as the Ring Pro by referencing a customized zone you create for the camera to actively monitor for any changes and when a change is detected you alerted. Definitely our favorite new piece of home security!!

Rated 1 de 5 de par Defective design led to Strobe Lighting and shorted light panel within the light lens Had installed by licensed electrcian 3 months ago. Everything worked great until now. Flood Lights started flashing like strobe. Did internet research and checked Ring web-site for all possible causes and nothing listed appeared to be the issue. Unit is mounted under the eve of roof. Got out ladder to check the unit and found the LED light housings were full of water which caused the LED panel inside to short. Unmounted the light and found that Ring uses a soft neo-preme / rubber conical type washer to try to block water from getting into the LED lens area. This "washer" has a hole in the middle for the wires and this allows water to get in. This hole should be a solid seal to prevent water getting in. A few cents worth of a poured non-conductive hardening compound could have prevented this defect.

We want to get this system but I do not think it will work for us unless someone has a solution we are not aware of....we have ONE electrical switch in the house that turns on all 4 front lights at once (2 at front door and 2 at garage). we did this for convenience of not having to walk downstairs to turn front lights on separately. But now we wanted to replace ONE of the garage lights with this floodlight...however does that mean that it will not work unless we keep the electrical switch ON all of the time (day and night) which in turn means leaving the other 3 front lights on all of the time as well!

A couple of options for you to consider: 1) an electrician can easily install another switch to control the 3 lights without the Ring Security lights..or 2) you could install motion sensors on the other three lights that would allow you to keep the power on all the time, but only have the lights work when there is motion,

I think you can but mounting needs to be thoughtfully designed and installed so that lights and camera range cover the desired area. It will require both power AND Strong Stable Internet. My sense is that it should be hardwired for INTERNET and, if necessary, WIFI converter provided just next to it.

This particular security light and camera only works with the Ring security system. It requires hardwired AC power. The kit has the materials to connect and mount the floodlight camera to your junction box. Id recommend using a licensed electrician to do the power work. It comes in two colors - white and black. What's the maximum distance it will pick up movement. I park my truck about 75 feet from my house. Will it work that far

I have had one installed for about 6 months. It runs on AC power. I set a motion detect zone that covers about 60 feet directly in front of the camera and about the same distance in an arc left and right of the camera. All works fine.

Really, you can’t turn on the light from inside without getting on a phone, tablet or computer???

Bought a bunch of these before realizing that there is no way to simply turn the light on from inside without using a phone, tablet or computer. Really????? So I need to grant a guest access to my security system to turn on a floodlight? No way. Big miss and gaping hole in basic lighting functionality. Like the camera aspect, but will return EVERYTHING because there’s no simple light switch feature, which is why I have a ‘floodLIGHT’.

Yes, I have 1 on each of the 4 corners of the house. All of which are mounted under the soffit. Be sure you get a relatively strong wifi signal at point of placement. Jeff

Nope. this doesnt support Ethernet. WiFi only. You can get a powerline range extender though
