Rated 5 de 5 de par Sticks Like Glue I was advised by HD associate to use this tape to install new vinyl sheet flooring and I'm glad I did. If you just clean up the foundation a little, this stuff will do the job. It is even good for bonding paneling to sheetrock before nailing. I can imagine a whole bunch of uses for this double sided tape. It looks like thread when you run out a piece and press it to the floor. When the paper is removed it leaves a checker board like pattern of sticky threads that hold like crazy. You place it an inch from the edge of the flooring and out in the middle as much as you think you need. HD had a quick tutorial on their computer screen, and Youtube has dozens of videos. Easy to clean off your hands and tools.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Double-Sided Adhesive Tape I purchased this product on October 25, 2010. I needed a sticky double-sided tape product to securely install Home Depot's "TrafficMaster Active Tile" to four tool bin tops but also required it to be removed at a later date when the tile is no longer serviceable. This tape is the ticket! After measuring and cutting each tile to ensure a flush fit, I installed two pieces in an "X" pattern on the reverse side prior to placement on the tool bin tops. You have no worries of the tile shifting...even when moving heavy tools and equipment on the tile. Purchase THIS if you need to secure anything. On a test run with the double-backed tape and a small piece of tile, I confirmed that the tiles are removable (if so desired at a later date)--with a little bit of elbow grease. BUY! You will NOT be disappointed.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Easy to apply & really grips! I used this roll adhesive to install new vinyl flooring in a small entryway about 4 by 9'. Didn't want to use the normal adhesive (that you'd apply with a notched trowel) because we couldn't prevent foot traffic long enough for that other kind of adhesive to cure. This adhesive tape was very quick and easy to use. I used it around the perimeter of the area, about 1/2 inch in from the edge of the vinyl, plus one strip the long way in the center of the piece. Extremely easy to use, and once in place this tape REALLY holds! I suggest you cut your vinyl almost to size first, then roll the vinyl up long-wise. Lay the installation tape down on your subfloor leaving the top "non-stick" paper temporarily on the strip. Pull off about a 2 foot section of the top paper to reveal the sticky surface. Position the edge of the vinyl on that paper and very lightly press into place. Unroll the vinyl to check that it still fits where you want it to go; re-position if needed. Then roll the vinyl back up again, and, working a small segment at a time, pull off the top paper strip from the adhesive tape & roll the vinyl out on it, making sure you have no big air pockets and pressing lightly as you go. When the entire vinyl sheet is in place, make any final trim cuts along the edges. Lastly, go back and press down firmly everywhere the adhesive tape is underneath.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Wow! This tape is no joke!!! I thought I was dreaming when I was told I could lay vinyl floor with tape. Lol.. I put one piece around each side of my room and bam! The floor isn’t moving!!! This tape is serious! Lol.. make sure your under floor is completely clean! If it’s not sticking it’s probably from not cleaning the surface area. My subfloor is particle board. And I stuck it to that with no problem. Get it right because this stuff is hard to pull back up. Lol

Rated 5 de 5 de par Highly reccomend providing you can use this method I had to pull up the 8 month old piece of vinyl flooring I had put in my bathroom. The installer did a "loose lay" and I was having issues with the floor sticking to a wet foot when getting out of the shower. The floor just felt cheap. So I rolled the floor up and did some investigating. I reviewed this product and the others carried at other big box home improvements. I went with this product due to reviews and the fact it is not like a double sided clear tape, more of a glue. For a small bathroom it was so simple. I put the tap down where I wanted it and left the backing on. Put the floor down and positioned it where I wanted it. Sat down in the middle, lifted the edge and pulled the paper off the tape. Start from center of tape and worked outwards. Cant be happier with the results. Just make sure your foundation that you are putting the tape on is fresh, clean and dry. NO DUST. Same for the vinyl back side.

Rated 5 de 5 de par This tape made the floor look like a professional installed it. I laid down the vinyl and it fit but bubbled up along the edges where it touched the base boards/trim. I didn't want to start shaving off the edges in 1/8 inch slivers so I laid down the grip tape and the floor laid flat. It looks great. Added some molding and I am very proud of this project.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Sticks to everything except the floor Maybe I just don't know how to use something like this properly, but I could not get it to just stick to the floor. I was using this to repair a hole that was torn in my very inexpensive vinyl floors. It stuck to my fingers, the scissor, and anything else it came close to, but I had a horrible time getting it to stay on the floor between the floor and the vinyl. You would cut a piece off, but to pick that piece off of the roll, you had to touch the tape and then it was stuck to your fingers. It has protective backing on one side, but you have to touch the other side to maneuver it and that's when everything goes sideways. I eventually just used little rolled up balls of the stuff under the vinyl. Not perfect, but it worked.

Rated 4 de 5 de par This tape was just what I needed. I used it to attach thick vinyl sheeting to plywood. I did not ... This tape was just what I needed. I used it to attach thick vinyl sheeting to plywood. I did not want to use construction adhesive or vinyl cement as I may have to remove it at a letter date. The bond is very strong and the tape is easy to use.

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, make sure the concrete surface is clean, dry and free of any debris that will inhibit the bond between the tape, concrete and sheet goods. Thank you for choosing Roberts as your source for installation products and information.

Thank you for your inquiry. Max Grip is Not recommended for application to finished flooring such as vinyl tile. It can cause damage to the finish. Max Grip is considered a "perm" installation tape and only recommended over concrete or plywood subfloors to install vinyl sheet flooring. The heavy duty tape instantly bonds and no clean-up is required. You may want to consider Roberts 25 ft. Rug Traction Anti-Slip Rubber Tape adheres to bottom of rugs and mats to provide additional traction.(non perm) It offers non-slip strength. It keeps a rug in place on tile, marble, laminate, wood and other flooring surfaces.

will this tape work on concrete and felt vinyl?

Posée par: Unknown
I am not sure what felt vinyl is, but I used it on my wood floor to stick to a big vinyl matt and it works well. The vinyl does not move with that tape as the tape is pretty strong. It does leave some residue, but comes off.

if I tape the vinyl sheet instead of glue down will I have a pocket in the flooring? In other words i have read that floating floors on wood subfloors can have a hollow sound. I read if directly attached that hollow sound wont happen

Posée par: Rich
I used the tape around the parameter of a small room and didn't have any issues and found it much easier to work with.

What you are considering is not advisable. As with any adhesive, it is best applied to recently cleaned or new surfaces.
