Rated 4 de 5 de par Roto Zip yourself into a newly remodeled home. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect tool to aid in remodeling your house. Zips your tile to a flawless edge needed for those tight corners and tiny spaces. Holds its own in quality, not to mention satisfaction.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Good for certain things, not for others I needed to modify some cutouts in our kitchen when we upgraded our electrical panel. I bought this tip and it worked great for what it does. It made a 3 inch cut in about 30 seconds. It cut through thin tile extremely quickly. The only thing is it is VERY messy. It essentially renders the tile into dust, so it'll create fine dust around the area, and a lot of it. I highly recommend laying something down to collect it. Wear a mask as well. I've used it for other purposes, and I've found a few tips that helped. I had a couple other cuts I needed to make, and I found out the tip of it wears out very quickly. DO NOT USE IT as a drill! Get a tile drill to make the first hole. The tip will get very hot and it'll basically melt down. Also, watch out carefully for overheating. If it overheats (you'll notice it slow down), stop immediately and remove the bit and allow it to cool. It creates a LOT of friction, and overheating will destroy the bit. Allow it to cool and it'll last a lot longer. You can vary the point that's doing the drilling in and out as well, to cut along different parts of the bit to keep from damaging just one point on the bit. Use these points and it'll last infinitely longer.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Great purchase Great Tool. A bit messy when it cuts and it would have been a good idea to have had someone with a vacuum sucking up the dust, but overall great experience.

I purchased the 1/8 in carbide steel spiral saw zip bit to cut a 4-inch hole for a bathroom exhaust fan vent in fiber cement siding with roto zip roto saw. It did a nice clean job and was easy to cut. I followed the advice of one of the reviewers on here and didn't feed the fast as it mad the cut. It is recommended wearing a mask when cutting fiber cement siding. I think the bit still has plenty of life as I have a couple more 3" hole to cut in the siding soon.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Cuts great. Breaks easily. Exact same problem as a couple other reviewers. Was used to cut cement board for shower niche. Cut through very easily with almost no resistance. But after about 10 inches the bit snapped. Returned it for another. I cut just a little further than the last one but it did exactly the same thing. I was not forcing the tool, which was gliding through the cement board very easily. I've used the Rotozip and thinner bits for drywall with no problems. Very disappointed.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Discovered to use it to set the drill point and... Discovered to use it to set the drill point and finish up holes. But primarily use a hammer drill with appropriate small drill bit for the mammer dril lto do the primary drilling through the tile. All to set shower bars into studs in the shower.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Very helpful I bought this bit and a concrete bit to drill into tile I would still be drilling if it wasn't for this bit. The tile was so hard that nothing would penetrate it. finally I put this on my hammer drill and I started to make progress.

wil this cut countertops

Posée par: jaybird
Yes, it will cut countertops but very slowly. You have to let the bit cool down after a few seconds. & it depends also how thick the countertop you are cutting. I due pattern cuts, so regular carbide saws won't work. This bit is very exacting.
