Rated 4 de 5 de par Use Correctly Good bits when used correctly. I see other reviews complaining of breaking, only time that happens is when the get overheated. Which unfortunatley is too easy to have happen, the speed at which cutout tools spin is so high that any friction will quickly overheat these to the point they glow red. There are a few ways that can happen to bits like this; foreign objects, cut too shallow, cut too deep. For me these bits often cut too deep, meaning the bit goes too far into the board so that the non-sharpened surface of the bit near the chuck is spinning in the board. Im using a dewalt tool but think these could be made with cutting edge further down the bit, current design doesnt give much wiggle room.

This cutting bit worked well to cut drywall for new electrical and low-voltage boxes to mount my new TV on the wall. I had a set slightly larger (5/32nds, I believe) that would not fit in my roto-tool, but the 1/8 fit and cut easily. The only issue I had was that I was not using the cutting guard on my tool, so I was unable to hold it perfectly straight and make the cuts in a straight line. I had drilled a starter hole before noticing that these bits have a cutting head on the tip to make the initial plunge hole.

I am finding alot of these bits loose their sharpness very quickly, I tend not to want to use rotozip for anything except smaller jobs. Also the bits burn everything and make a terrible stink. the cuts are very rough and not good for a finished product.

I got them for drywall work and they break without even putting any pressure on them. Took 3 bits to cut out one receptacle hole. I ended up using an old bit to finish the day. Do not buy these.

This purchase was for my first RotoZip tool and i needed it for 1/2" drywall. The tool depth guide doesn't allow it to be retracted to negate the guide point. However, makes sense not to. But end result was cutting the insulation paper backing. I am not a professional contractor or anything, so maybe there is a way to get around that, but interim is, the paper was cut. Maybe i will cut the guide point off next time i need it for exterior wall. Other then that, the bit cut through the drywall like soft butter.

What bit should be used for drywall cutting inside a plastic electrical box so not to cut the box?

What bit should be used for drywall cutting inside a plastic electrical box so not to cut the box?
Posée par: Kizmatt
These would work just fine for that purpose. If you look at the tip you will notice it is rounded, so it does no cutting
