Rated 1 de 5 de par Dont use this thinking it will protect your finish I just painted a wood frame with black rustoleum spray paint and it looked beautiful. I wanted to protect the finish and bought the rustoleum semi gloss clear. I sprayed the frame and the paint immediately started to bubble up. Why is there no warning on the can? I did a search on the Homedepot.com site for this product and there are numerous complaints with the exact same issue. Now I need to stand it again and buy more black paint to start all over. Too bad there is not an option for zero stars.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Not 2x and poor quality I applied this paint to a small 3ftx1ft filing cabinet. it was primed well and smooth so I thought that if 1 can of primer would cover the entire thing that 1 can or 2x finish certainly would. How mistaken I was. It didn't even cover most of the sides. And entire back was left white, and several other areas were only partially covered. It looks terrible and the paint itself doesn't bond to the metal primer, stripping off with ease. Why does it advertise itself as metal paint for the outdoors if the slightest knock indoors peels it off? The two stars is because the orange colour is true to the lid.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Waste of Money I liked the color of the product, not a pure white. Took my time to follow all instructions to apply and have used spray paints many times before. However, I did not find it covered as described in the write-up at all (I could see the old color through in many parts). I attempted to apply a second coat to some of these areas where the old color showed through, and it simply made the 1st coat bubble as many other reviewers mentioned. Just created more work for me as I had to now sand the bubbled paint off, and use a brush/roller for my project. Save your money and do not purchase this product!

Rated 1 de 5 de par This product Will DESTROY the painted surface I have tried both the Gloss and Semi-Gloss versions of the product. In both cases the original paint was Rust-Oleum, one was gloss colonial red and the other was satin canyon black. The can directions were followed, and within seconds of this product touching the painted surface it wrinkled and bubbled the original paint. even in very thin coats Further I attempted to sand the clear coat off and repaint. The clear coat appears to have affected the original paint chemistry. and repainting the surface results in the paint causing the original paint to bubble and crack. It even causes the Rust-Oleum primer to bubble and crack. The only solution was to completely strip the original work piece to bare materiel, clean with alcohol and prime then paint. In no way should this product be used or even sold as it serves no useful purpose.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Rust-oleum Ptouch Gloss white is amazing! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Rust-oleum is hands down the best brand spray paint. I have tried numerous other brands and I always end up back at Rust-oleum. It goes on even and smoothly. It always comes out the color they state it’s going to be. And it’s the only spray paint that’s claimed to work on plastic that actually does. I purchased this white to spray paint some hooks for my home and a few other things. I did the knobs and left them overnight assuming I’d have to do a second coat but they were perfect the next day. Got a few more projects to do and looking forward to using this white for some Christmas deco.

Rated 1 de 5 de par consistently defective/faulty Rustoleum has a good color selection and mabye I just had the worst luck in the world....but....bought this one, shook it, and used it and it stopped working completely after about 10 seconds. Exchanged it no prob, used the second can for about 30 seconds, stopped working again, plus this time the spray was uneven and paint was leaking around the base of the nozzle presser thing. Two cans, similar problem? I won't be using this brand any longer. I'd give it zero stars but had to enter at least one star. Will go back to Tremclad spray cans.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Terrible representation Bought this product on two separate occasions believing first time may have been a mis pick by an employee. Problem is not a mispick...Problem is the colour on the website is NOT accurately represented. The colour on the website is darker than the actual product. I might recommend a professional photographer taking the appropriate pics in natural light. Very disappointed in having to try and rectify this 2x. Otherwise I am quite happy with the 2x brand....used it several times for other projects....easier to get the right colour in person than in this pandemic phase.

Hi Steve, We have not tested our Ultra Cover Multi-Purpose Paint and Primer on porcelain. The surface tension may be too low and the coating may not adhere. If you would like to still give it a try, clean the surface well and once dry, lightly sand a small area on the back of the toilet with 220-grit. Remove the sanding dust and apply on the test spot to see if the paint adheres properly.

Does this have polyurethane in it? Will it work as a protective coat on acrylic painted rocks?

It doesn't have any polyurethane in it but it does have an Acetone base. I use it on glass painted with Alcohol inks but if not applied extremely sparingly in very short bursts allowing it 5 or so minutes to dry in between bursts Alcohol inks will bleed. For acrylic painted rocks it works beautifully although I prefer to use UV resin and that gets to be a bit too pricey otherwise the spray works great. This is my 1st choice when sealing and protecting any nonporous painted surfaces.

Does Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Multi-Purpose Paint And Primer in Flat Matte Clear, 340 G Aerosol Spray Paint finish transparent.. will surface colour show thru coating ?

Yes, a clear coat shows the base color. For example, if you spray red object it will be still red after you clear coat it. The clear coat acts as a protective coat . You can also change the sheen of the part you spray. If the part you are Spraying it’s gloss red, you could make it flat red by using a flat clear coat or keep it gloss by adding gloss clear coat. Remember always do multiple thin coats than one thick coat. If a product has been painted prior clear coating or adding a second coat, make sure you allow it to fully dry . 24 to 48hours if not the paint will skin/shrink. Hope this helps

Will this work on exterior shutters? There's already a layer of paint on them.

Hi Lisa, Our Ultra Cover Multi-Purpose Paint and Primer can be applied to exterior shutters. We recommend wiring brushing to remove any loose paint and scuff sand the remaining paint with 220 grit after a good clean prior to painting.

Can applying this be a top coat after applying individual primer to outdoor metal furniture. If not what should be applied at top coat and is compatible with this product. I also don’t want too many layers as I will then have 2 products on it.

We painted an old aluminum boat with it. We applied it over old paint and onto the bare aluminum. It worked, no problems.
