Rated 5 de 5 de par AWESOME FOR UPDATING A BRASS FIREPLACE SURROUND The 20 year old brass fireplace surround in my living room was looking out of date and didn't match the new oiled bronze light fixtures and ceiling fan. I didn't want to spend $400 on an oiled bronze fireplace surround and decided to try the high heat black paint instead. I applied several coats of this bar-b-que high heat paint, using a small paint roller to give a smooth finish. There was no need for primer. I allowed each coat to dry thoroughly before applying the next coat, although this paint dries remarkably quickly. The end result is not really black black, possibly because I was painting over shiny brass, and it looks very much like a dark oiled bronze color. The finish is not matt, but not too glossy either. I got a "new" fireplace for $15 instead of $400. I couldn't be happier with the result!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great Results with Rustoleum High Heat Paint Desperate to keep my vintage double oven electric range which came in unsightly harvest gold I decided to try to paint it black. I bought the Rustoleum High Heat Paint in black and followed the directions, using a very small sponge roller to apply two coats. I was so thrilled with the results I also painted my refrigerator.. now for the first time in several years I have matching appliances.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Easy to apply I used this product on the exhaust manifold of my 1967 Firebird convertible that I just finished restoring. It did a great job of covering the old paint and it looks great and, most importantly, is heat resistant.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great for fireplace@ I used this for the inside of my fireplace. After wire brushing the brick, then cleaning with TSP, I applied this high heat paint. It was thin enough for easy coverage in the crevasses of brick, but not too thin that it dripped. No dripping, no fighting to spread. Perfect.

Is a primer required before applying

Posée par: Steve
Thanks for reaching out, Steve. Rust-Oleum Specialty High Heat Brush Paint is designed for direct application to metal exterior surfaces of high heat items, such as barbecue grills and wood burning stoves, do not prime before application. High Heat Paint requires heat curing, raising the surface temperature to 450°F for 1 hour for the paint to dry properly. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 6

Can use this on IPhone 8 Plus?

Posée par: Phonegod
Interesting question. Rust-Oleum High Heat is designed to renew and protect metal surfaces subject to heat up to 1000°F. High Heat is ideal for the exterior of barbecue grills, wood stoves, radiators, fire pits, fireplace screens, automotive parts, and more. We do not recommend using this paint on a phone. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 7

Hi, You answered my question about Rust-Oleum High Heat for the top of our metal gazebo. You suggested that we use Tremclad rust paint. Should we use the oil or water based paint? Thank you, again.

Posée par: Ron C
It only comes in enamel, so there is no water based version.

Hello, Can this paint be used on the top of a metal gazebo? The hot sun shines on it for about 15 hours a day. Would we have to prep the surface of the roof, first? @ years ago, we painted it with the regular Rustoleum paint, in black. Ty.

Posée par: Ron C
Hi Ron C, We do not believe our High Heat is necessary for your metal gazebo roof. We recommend our Tremclad Rust Paint for your project. We recommend a very good clean first with a heavy duty cleaner. Next, wire brush to remove any peeling paint. Scuff sand any remaining smooth surfaces with 220-grit sandpaper. Wipe the surface down with a cloth dampened with Mineral Spirits and allow to dry. Apply 2-3 coats of our Rust Paint for maximum longevity. We hope this new information is helpful.

can I paint my oven hood with this?

Posée par: Jamie
The label says the maximum temperature is 1200F degrees; you could use an infrared thermometer to see how hot the hood gets.
