Maybe I got a faulty can but I started painting as usual, it had a wide up-down spray pattern, when a drop fell from the bottom of the paint can unto the otherwise smooth surface. In addition to spraying, the paint was running down the can from the nozzle wetting my fingers and eventually dripping from the bottom of the can. It was a mess! I smoothed out the drops that fell unto the surface that I was painting then continued by wrapping several paper shop towels around the can to catch the falling paint. Otherwise the paint job looked fine.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Good paint, poor nozzle This is a really nice soft black colour. The nozzle on this can, however, sprays inconsistently so that you have very little come out and then a blast of paint. The nozzle on the regular Rust-Oleum spray paint cans work much better for a consistent spray.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Drippy Mess Terrible uneven coverage, and the fancy sounding spray trigger drips more than I’ve ever had; my fingers were fully covered with black paint. Arguably the worst spray paint I’ve ever used (and I am someone who has a full shelf of it). Ruined the project I was working on. Bought 2 and will be returning the second, one day..

Rated 2 de 5 de par Disappointed After 50+ years of using spray paint and after all of the new cans, spray nozzles, and paint types, I am very disappointed that over the past few months, I have had two cans that didn't work. I know all about cleaning the nozzle and shaking the can, but I don't understand why air comes out and paint doesn't after just a few minutes of spraying. There is definitely paint left in the can. When the can worked, the paint coverage was fine, but it's a shame that I had to go back to the store to buy additional paint because the can didn't work properly (especially on two different occasions).

I bought this product last fall to paint an old bicycle I was fixing up and it worked awesome! I had about a half can left over and in the spring I decided to try it on my boy's baseball helmet (which I was blue and was virtually brand new). It didn't require any kind of prep work other than washing and drying the helmet before application. No dripping, no chipping, not tacky to the touch...it was a very evenly dispersed layer that only took one application. New team logo sticker on the front and it looks like a brand new, glossy black helmet! Would highly recommend this product!

Rated 1 de 5 de par Issue with nozzle Problem with 1st can and its replacement, paint everywhere. This product has an ongoing problem with defective nozzles that have a history of plugging and leaking paint down the can and all over your hand and fingers,,. The spray clogs up and is uneven and it makes it very hard to make a proper job. Rust- Oleum paint with these spray lids should not be sold?

Rated 5 de 5 de par EXCELLENT PRODUCT I GOT THIS PAINT TO PAINT A DINNING ROOM SET GIVEN TO ME AND IT WORKED EXCELLENT. IT LEFT THE TABLE AND CHAIRS LOOKING LIKE THEY WERE NEW! AFTER TH PERSON THAT GAVE ME THE DINNING ROOM SET LOOKED AT IT THEY SAID IT LOOKED LIKE IT FIRST DID WHEN THEY GOT IT. THIS PRODUCT LEFT A SMOTH AND EVEN FINISH. I HAVE ALREADY RECOMMENDED THIS PRODUCT TO FRIENDS.

Can this product be used for painting a laundry tub?

Posée par: Lynn
We used it to paint plastic and it worked very well. I'm sure it would cover the laundry tub well but I can't speak to how it would stand up to scrubbing or water over time.

Will the paint stick and last on aluminum frame windows, which are shiny white power painted? The windows are north facing, so have very limited exposure to the sun? Can i expect the paint to last and not peel off over time?

Posée par: Jack75
Hi Jack75, For aluminum frame windows, we recommend a very good clean first using a cleaner & degreaser. Next, priming with a water-based primer like our Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 will provide maximum adhesion. Then you can topcoat using our Universal Farmhouse Matte Black spray paint.

Why does the second coat wrinkle? I tried this twice and both times the first coat was dry to the touch when I applied the second coat. Within minutes the whole surface was wrinkled.

Posée par: Michael
Happy to clear things up, Michael. Rust-Oleum Universal Spray should be recoated within 1 hour of the previous coat or after 48 hours has passed. If you recoat before the first application of paint has skinned over and begun to dry to the touch, the two coats will dry correctly. However, if recoated at the wrong time, it may wrinkle blister or crack, which sounds like what you are experiencing. Simply put, to apply a second coat, the first coat must be very dry or very wet - never in between. To fix this, try sanding the surface, wait 24 hours and apply again. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5

is this paint waterproof? can i use it on the drain ring for my sink?

Posée par: jesuiskate
Hi jesuiskate, Our Spray Paint and Primer in One is not waterproof. We do not recommend it for your drain rink as it will crack and peel sooner than later. Unfortunately, we do not have any waterproofing paint for your project. We hope this new information is helpful.

Can this be used in shower and tub?

Posée par: Nina
Hi Nina, we do not recommend applying our Rust-Oleum Universal Paint and Primer in One Sprays to a shower or tub. Instead, a specialized coating such as our Rust-Oleum Specialty Tub & Tile Refinishing Spray should be used: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Specialty-12-oz-Gloss-White-Tub-and-Tile-Refinishing-Spray-Paint-6-Pack-280882/205926956 - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2

Can this paint be use on the gold/brass decorative metal trim (inserts) on an indoor gas fireplace?

Posée par: ohanloon
Hi ohanloon, Our Spray Paint and Primer can withstand heat up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. If you believe the surface temperature will exceed this when turned on, we recommend using our High Heat Spray paint instead.

Would this product on its own be suitable to use on the gold metal trim around mirrored closet doors?

Posée par: Evelin
Yes. Spray is consistent and even. Coverage is good. Finished look would be suitable. Key to success here would be good masking off of the area due to overspray. Second issue is to maintain distance from painted surface and to use short controlled sprays to avoid uneven paint build-up.

If I spray it for metal door knobs in winter (around 0 degree in my garage) , will it work? Do you suggest me sand it before applying the first coat? Thanks!

Posée par: Edward
Wait until it's well above zero. Spray paint is generally "do-able" in the 35 to 50 (Farenheit, so 2-12) range, remembering that it will take much longer to dry. Doing it below zero, you are working with condensation issues. If the metal you are painting has frozen water on the surface, the paint will not stick long-term.
