Own 2 blue ones and just got the new brushless. Bought the new brushless because belt clip and it works well, hangs off my belt while swinging on off the ladders. The 3 speed thing was kind of a surprise when I found it, I was like this this is ridiculous. It had so much torque and was so much faster than my old blue ones. I was about to go get my old blue one when I started to examine the new one. Once flipped down to speed 1 and 2, I was able to use it just like the old blue ones. I have found the 3 speed works great with 6 and 8 inch lage bolts. I like this new brushless impact driver. Given it a try, you will too.

Rated 5 de 5 de par What have i been doing without this. I use this all the time and i love the 3 speeds. The brushless motor is super powerful and its very battery efficient. Key is to allow a learning period with impact drivers because they are very powerful. You need quality impact bits. I would go with a differen't brand for impact bits. This is very compact and the different speeds need to be used effectively. #1 is for driving small screws, starting larger screws, removing screws. #2 is for driving larger screw, lag bolts, tightening bolts. #3 is for big lag bolts, long phillips screws. If i just turned it onto #3 and tried to drill everything i would be disappointed but the tool needs to be used properly.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Outstanding impact driver I’ve tried several different impact drivers from dewalts brushless, makitas brushless and Milwaukee fuel brushless and their regular brushless line. This thing puts all of them to shame except for the fuel line obviously. The amount of power this thing has is nuts. Yeah it has quite a bit of plastic parts on it but it’s also an 80$ impact. Who cares. This thing has more power and less wobble than impacts twice it’s price. Makes dewalts impact driver look like a kids toy. Ryobi is starting to make some great stuff and this is one of them. HIGHLY recommend this impact

Purchased this to use along side an older P236 impact (pictured side by side) by Ryobi as my wife and I always seem to want to use them at the same time. As a certified hand therapist ergonomics are very important to me. Ryobi generally does a good job in this department and the tool fits well in my hand. It is loud particularly indoors and I would recommend some hearing protection. People do not usually notice they are causing damage until after it is too late. These tools leave me with little reason to use a drill/driver outside of drilling these days. The 3 speeds is an upgrade I did not think I would use much, but like many features you don't realize how useful they are until you try them. It's particularly nice when I want to have a gentle touch without as much torque/speed. Power approaches that of the more expensive brands. This makes for an excellent cost-effective solution.

Wicked power, plus useful features like a belt clip, pilot light, and magnetic tray for loose hardware. I do notice a slight stall when pulling the trigger...a split second of nothing and then boom. I attribute this to the brushless technology. This same behavior is seen in the Ryobi brushless grinder I bought as well (I'm a newbie to the brushless technology.) It was mildly alarming at first, but after much heavy use I'm confident that it is not defective whatsoever. Stoked on this stout little beast!

Best used with a hex-to-3/8" square drive adapter to facilitate socket usage, this impact feels good in your hand and is well balanced. Power is more than adequate for application size. Operation is typical brushless, instant on and instant stop. This is yet again a home run for ryobi as they start putting out more and more professional grade tools without increasing their cost of admission.

I also have the P234G that was a great bargain as part of a kit, and it still performs well after regular use for the past 4 years. I always thought the upgraded features of the higher-end units like this one were nice-to-haves, but now am considering them essential. This new P238 model has LED lights, 3 speed settings, a one-handed chuck, a belt/pocket clip, and of course is brushless and delivers much more power. I've applied all of these features over past few weeks. Perhaps the lights and the 3 speed settings are the most appreciated, the latter allowing me to go low speed with the precision and light touch of a hand-held screwdriver, or the ability to power through very tough material without stripping screw heads. Great buy, and the older model has been re-assigned to simpler work!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Powerful Drill [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I've owned the 3 speed impact driver that waa out before the brushless set, and I work in home construction/ deck building. I work along side people who have Dewalt and Ridgid drills. So all like to poke fun at each other's choice in companies, but when push came to shove the results spoke for them selves. After I started using the brushless impact driver paired with the 6ah battery I instantly feel in love and so did those around me. It out performed my co workers ridgid and he started using my drill more as well. Over all I live Ryobi and their products they have come a long way and I recommend them to anyone.

Can this take LUG Nuts off of a car or SUV?

Can this take LUG Nuts off of a car or SUV?
Posée par: 6061
Hi 6061, This is an impact driver for smaller screws and nuts i suggest you will want an impact wrench for use on lug nuts. P1830. Thanks for asking, Greg

Can this tool also be used as a drill

Is this tool suitable for using as a drill fir projects around the home? For example, drilling s pilot hole for hanging a bike rack in a stud.
Posée par: DAna
Yes, but it's not as accurate as a normally-chucked drill. Plenty of wobble in these quick-release hex-shank chucks.

Which batteries are compatible?

It says specifically on the Ryobi website that it works woth Ryobi 18V one HP battery. Does it have to be the HP one ? I see only the 6AH (P164) is labeled as HP and is the most expensive battery. Any feedback on which battery could be used ? Thanks
Posée par: Sam
Hi Sam. All the 18v Ryobi batteries will work with this tool. Thanks for asking. Greg

Accepts which batteries? Recent reply to someone else's question stated that this driver had a different battery connection poles than other Ryobi Drivers and that it was designed to use the new 3.0ah and 6.0ah battery. Will it not accept my 4.0ah Ryobi Battery even though the description says it is part of the Ryobi Battery collection?
Posée par: CookingJo1
This will use any of the Lithium One+ batteries, but is optimized for the Lithium+HP batteries recently released. They currently have a 3.0Ah (P191) and 6.0Ah (P193) in the Lithium+Hp, with a rumored 9.0Ah battery due out soon. The new connection on the Lithium+HP batteries makes an additional connection on the brushless tools to optimize their performance. These batteries can still be used with any tool, and this tool can be used with any One+ battery. I have used the 4.0Ah (P108), the 2.0Ah (P190), the 1.5Ah (P107) in mine. Obviously it works best with the new P191 or P193, but it will work with any of them.
