I've worked on cars all my life, and have used various electric and pneumatic impact guns. This one has worked every bit as good as any other I have used. It will remove lug nuts with ease! The biggest challenge I have given it was when I replaced the front wheel hub assemblies on my Jeep. There is a very large 32mm nut that hold the driveshaft onto the hub assembly. Those nuts almost universally get seized, and the threads get rusted. A quick spray of lubricant on the threads and this Ryobi Impact Wrench had those nuts off in under 30 seconds. Made the job SO much easier! This is a great addition to my extensive Ryobi tool collection.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Suprised At The Torque Retired from the wheel and tire business after 25 years so I have a lot of experience with 1/2" air impact wrenches. It's certainly not a stud snapper but works great removing wheel lugs for at home servicing of my vehicals. The three speed function wasn't clearly explained when I purchased it. It is actually three torque settings. I use 3 for removal of lugs and position 1 to install them. this runs them down to ~ 80ft lbs and then I can finish off with the torque wrench. If your vehicle has small 10mm studs setting #1 may be too much if your specs call for 65ft lbs so be advised. This is also great to bring on road trips just in case the unfortunate happens.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Works great I have had this impact for almost 4 years now and I take it with me in my truck toolbox everywhere I go. It is great for travel if you have a flat tire. The tool itself is moderate in weight and it isn't too loud. The batteries that I have work great in this and the tool does not seem to drain batteries very fast, which is a plus. The LED light on the front is nice for low light conditions. I am very happy with the torque this thing has. This product has met my expectations and there isn't anything that I dislike about it.

Both have experienced chuck failures. The first impact driver lasted a little over 2 years. This driver has been in service only four months and doesn't get heavy use. The failure is obviously due to a poor casting; a quality control issue. The features of this driver; adjustable speed/torque, lighted chuck, and the high capacity lithium battery pack, are nice and the gun certainly generates good torque. But now I am without it for weeks while warranty repairs are done. I will see how the warranty experience goes and update my review accordingly.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Surprisingly Powerful I bought this for use in the garage simply to avoid dragging an air hose around. Decided to give it a go at the farm, had to pull the front wheel of a tractor as well as the hub/planetary setup, figured it would just chatter on such large items but to my surprise with very little effort it removed every bolt on the job, I honestly never expected it to have the power to do so considering these aren’t car lug nuts were talking about, couldn’t be happier with it.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Best tool I own I've only used it twice so far, but the last time when I had a blowout on my boat trailer. I used the impact on the lug nuts AND the screw jack to lift the axle. SO MUCH EASIER with this powerful light-weight impact. The LED lights really help when working in dark quarters. Sockets attach and stay on, and they come right back off without a struggle. I tested several rusty bolts with my torque wrench when I got home, all nuts we're at about 100ft/lbs. I pulled a couple of the other axle, and it took over 120ft/lbs to break them loose. My Excursion lug nuts are torqued to 165ft/lbs, and this impact will remove them as well Looking forward to a long history with this tool.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Amazing Tool!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this tool last summer, when I was at the store looking at this1/2 IN. impact driver I never thought it had so much power. The tool seemed to be so small compared to other brands and I never imagined this tool would perform the way it does. I always work on my cars and even though I live in a city where they use salt during winter and the cars get a lot of rust there's is not one single time this impact driver has let me down. The reason I gave five stars to this tool is because the price, weight, size and power ratio is simply amazing compared to other brands.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Very impressed Needed to bust my mower blades off my zero turn. So, I was looking at this big Dewalt at some other store & I'm thinking, I'm probably going to have to go ahead & get this. I had the Ryobi battery already though. Then, I go to Home Depot &I check out this Ryobi impact. It looked way too small for the job. I was willing to give it a shot though. When I got to the check-out, I just wasn't feeling it & almost put the thing back on the shelf. Anyways, I get home, put my battery & head outside to my mower. I pull the trigger & nope, not coming loose. So, I'm thinking I just need try the faster speed. I do so & it came loose instantly. was shocked how much power this thing had..

will this work for changing tires?

Posée par: gunnygoody
Proper method for torquing lug nuts with an impact wrench: Get yourself a set of torque sticks. Check with your owners manual or vehicle manufacturer for the proper torque value for your lug nuts. Select the torque stick that is BELOW that value. Torque your lug nuts with the proper torque stick attached to your impact wrench. Do the final torque to spec with a torque wrench set to the correct value. This is the method that all professional service centers will use. The most important detail is to do the final torque with a torque wrench which has been calibrated. Unprofessional fly-by-night shops may employ different techniques but you may see the results on the news..

I just bought one, I was hoping it would buss my lugs off my f250 no problem an it won't. Could it be cause of the battery? I have an older lithium battery. do I need a high capacity batt or what? what are u guys running?
Posée par: Deedub
Yes, the battery is important. It will work with the older batts but will not develop maximum torque. The tool should have no problem with lug nuts.

Does it really have an inpact of 300 ft. lbs. of torque? My ford lug nuts are under 300lbs of torque and its not working

I have a ford pickup truck. The lugs are torque under 300lbs and the drill isnt loosening them..
Posée par: MattyBoy
I tried it the first time on my tacoma and it took forever. Then realized that I had the setting at ONE. I put it to setting THREE and it took the lug nuts off in less then 2 seconds.

Output Adjustment?

Does this new impact wrench have an output torque adjustment limiter, or does it always run full blast up to 300 ft lbs.?
Posée par: DenDen
There are three speeds and the lower two are each set at a significantly lower torque figure, plus variable speed with the trigger, so definitely more options than full blast, 300 ft. lbs.

How come people on youTube use this drill to loosen lug nuts but I am unsuccessful at home?

I have this item and it doesnt loosen the lug nuts on my cars. I have a 1996 ford f150 and 2000 bmw 540i. Tried both and was unsucessful. I only bought this item for that reason and its not strong enough. But on youTube it looks like people are using it. I am using the brand new p261 impact wrench with 4.0a lithium battery fully charged on speed 3.
Posée par: MattyBoy
If you are using the big high current battery, Model # P108, i would be shocked that you are having problems with lugnuts. I have never had a problem with lugnuts on several different cars and trucks, including a 1998 F150. There is always the possibilities that the lugnuts on your vehicle are over torqued. I would break them loose with a breaker bar. Then torque them back to spec. Honestly, I use the Ryobi to torque the nuts back on. it probably over torques them a little. But, does not cause any damage. After doing that, I am sure the Ryobi will be able to get them back off next time.

Has anyone used this with the new P191 3 amp hour battery. How did it perform?

Has anyone used this with the new P191 3 amp hour battery. How did it perform?
Posée par: Bicycleflyer
Well I'm not sure my batteries are the new ones. I got them a few years ago. But they are the 3 amp hour lithium with the power meter. The impact wrench works really well with them. I cant really quantify how long they last, but it's long enough to get a few jobs done. Obviously not crazy long of continuous use, but on and off is good. I really love this impact wrench, so convenient and strong enough for 99% of things I do. I use this wrench also with the 1.5 amp hour batteries (I think that's the rating) and it still runs well. I do notice the batteries die a little faster on this wrench, but not terribly so.
