Rated 1 de 5 de par 2 Batteries Fail within Months I had two of these batteries come with a driver as part of a kit and they both died within months of purchasing. One died within a month and the other within 6 months. Worse, they were sold with a defective charger that is now being recalled by Ryobi. Ryobi wouldn't replace them as they were out of warranty. But even the charger would recognize the batteries as defective, sometimes. Other times, no. Measured voltage across contacts and it was only putting out 10V as opposed to the necessary 18V. Stay away from this and Ryobi one+ tools until they fix this defect. Tools are useless without the necessary batteries.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Depends on tool it's powering First time to use lithium ion battery, in this case with a blower. A charge lasts less than 10 minutes, not great but okay for many jobs. It wouldn't hold a charge after less than 10 recharges. The charger manual says to try charging another battery, and if that doesn't work, the charger could be defective. Am I supposed to spend $37 to $99 on another battery hoping the charger isn't at fault? This may be a great battery for smaller power tools. For example; the cheaper NiCad rechargeble battery for my drill has been great. The P102 comes as a package with the blower, so buyer beware.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Hate the Batteries, Love the Tools P102 Lithium-ion battery died within the warranty period. Called Ryobi--you MUST have. your receipt for them to honor the warranty. Luckily, I had it, and they sent me a new one within 10 days. Less than 9 months later, this new P102 will not take a charge. I've been reading customer reviews if all Ryobi 18V batteries here on the HD site, and there are a concerning percentage of negative reviews that reflect my own experience with these batteries. Since the initial P102 failure, I've purchased 2 Milwaukee cordless tools with their batteries. Much happier experience. My Ryobi days are over. Not a sustainable way to power tools or a business.

Rated 1 de 5 de par does not last after a season I love timming with no cords or gas, but the problem is that these batteries do not last past one season of use. I go to use them in the spring, dead. No juice and the charger says charged. This had happened for all three of the batteries i have purchased over the years. So now its a new spring and i am left with this question. Do i buy a battery that will only last through the summer or get a gas power trimmer? I really think you should be able to exchange the batteries especially when they claim to be rechargable. Last ryboi product i bought was replaced by a sthil. I know have no problems with the chain saw cutting

Rated 1 de 5 de par Meet P102 -- WORST Li-Ion batteries I ever seen in my life! I have bought *two* RYOBY tools from HD (yes, I am a dimwit), each with P102 battery and charger. Tools themselves are meh-OK but both batteries died after *less then a dozen uses* just by sitting continuously in their "smart" chargers over winter. Now, before you blame temperature, this is in Bellevue, WA, where we never have less than -8 Celsius and Li-Ion are rated to -15 C. The issue is either with their Chinese chargers or their Chinese batteries. Or maybe with their Chinese Home Depot, who knows? DO NOT BUY FROM TTI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This Chinese company owns following brands: ◾AEG ◾Hart ◾Milwaukee Electric Tool ◾Ryobi ◾Stiletto

Rated 1 de 5 de par Lithium batteries fail at an incredible rate I have now purchased, either separately or as part of a tool kit, about 8 Lithium batteries, and the failure rate of these batteries after often as little as one year, is ridiculous. By failure I mean that the Ryobi charger refuses to charge the batteries claiming they are defective. 6 of the 8 batteries I have purchased have failed. And these are in a light use home shop environment, not a commercial/industrial/contractor environment.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Easy to use, haven't run out of charge yet [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The battery came as a 2pack bundle with the 18v drill/driver and case. You keep one on the charger while you work, and if it runs out you just swap... nothing complicated here -- it's a solid battery that adds a good weight to the tools. I haven't tried the 2-4ah versions, nor do I think I will need to -- 1.5ah batteries are solid, light, and I'd recommend them. My only gripe is that they feel expensive when you don't purchase with a tool or as part of a bundle. It's clear that the price of the bundles are focused on the batteries, and it's often cheaper to just pony up for another drill/driver combo than buying separate batteries.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Junk I purchased a master kit with all the one+ tools. I recieved 2 chargers and 4 batteries. I charged the batteries and used the tools ONE TIME. Then I put two of the batteries on the charger/maintainers. About a month later I switched out the batteries in the chargers. We just had a very cold snap and went out to my garage to switch out the batteries since it had been about two months and both batteries that were out of the chargers will not take a charge and are giviving a fault reading. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I want to be clear I used the tools for about 15 minutes in 6 months and the two batteries that died had never been used. If the next two batteries do this I will never buy another Ryobi product.

How long does the lithium battery last that comes with the RYOBI weedeater?

Posée par: gardener
Depends on which model battery. The smaller 18v actually seems to have a longer usage time even though it costs a little more. Worth the few dollars.

What is the difference between this battery and the more expensive P107?

Posée par: Baffled
The quality of lithium-ion batteries varies and the more popular brands tend to hold a longer charge. This does not necessary suggest that the more expensive the lithium battery the better the performance. The chemistry in which lithium batteries are made dictate performance and cost. The ONE+ 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Compact battery suited my budget and performance needs. Over time, after prolong use and several recharges, the battery will need to be charged more frequently. I decided not to purchase the P107 due to cost and the uncertainty that it would last any longer than the ONE+ 18-Volt Lithium-Ion battery. It’s just a matter of preference.

I have the P102 Battery and the P119 Charger. Can the battery be left on the charger for any exte...

Posée par: Dennis
I mainly use my Ryobi multiport charger, but I believe the charging system is basically the same as the single P119 charger and all other Ryobi smart chargers. I keep my batteries in my charger until I use them, days or weeks.... and have never had a problem. The Ryobi smart chargers will charge a battery to full capacity and then drop down to a maintenance mode, which means after about 5 days it will "wake up" and check the current charge of the battery to determine if it needs to be topped off or not. Then it goes back to sleep/maintenance mode. Energy save mode is the same as sleep, or maintenance mode. I plugged in my charger to my "Kill A Watt" meter and watched the charger drop from its charging mode to the maintenance/sleep/energy saver mode. When in sleep mode, the only energy used is barely detectable - just enough to keep the LED light on the charger. Yes, you can remove the battery once it is charged, but I just keep my batteries in the charger until I need them and I know that they will be fully charged. These new smart chargers should never overcharge a battery, no matter how long left on the charger.
