Rated 5 de 5 de par Great tool for smaller yards This trimmer has plenty of power for my needs. I'm able to trim and edge the thickest part of my yard with no issues. The battery life is about 15 minutes with the small lithium battery or the standard NiCad. I have a small yard (patio home) so 15 min of runtime works for me but obviously may not work for others. For those complaining about the replacement costs of the spools, do yourself a favor and just buy .065 line and refill it yourself. I think they run for 10 bucks and should last forever. To conclude, I'd recommend this for smaller yards or for those who have more than one battery available to complete larger jobs.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Precision, Ease, and NO GAS [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you're old, have hand problems (I qualify for both), or are just sick of mixing gas and oil, this trimmer is the answer. The light weight, lack of vibration, self advancing line, wire trim guide...they make edging and trimming a breeze. The batteries are quick charging and long lasting. I have around 5000 sq ft of lawn with sidewalks, a driveway, and a large patio, and 1 large battery does it all with power to spare. I'm probably approaching the age and physical limitations where I'll have to hire someone for my lawnwork, but until I do I'll be using Ryobi cordless lawn tools. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Rated 3 de 5 de par Easy to use and store but it needs more power. My yard doesn't require a lot of edging so this trimmer is ok. With 2 Ryobi One+ batteries, I can edge about 80' of sidewalk and driveway and trim about 120' around the house. It doesn't do well in thick grass. Each battery lasts about 15 minutes and they still have power to run my drill but not enough to trim. It is easy to use. The replacement reels are expensive; about 10 times more expensive than 100' of .065 string. I haven't had any problems with the auto line feed and, after 2 uses, I've still got some of the original string left. I would recommend this for a small yard because it is so convenient but I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't already have 2 batteries. That said, so far, it meets my needs.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Ryobi cordless weed eater Very easy to put together and light weight. Self feed work well, all you have to do is hold a small button on the bottom and pull the line out as YOU NEED IT, that way there is no waste of line. Battery charges in it's charger which is sold seperatly and comes to a full charge in about 15 minutes. Wow what a wonderful product , I can do my whole lawn in about 30 minutes with only 1 recharge. Tapping the trigger makes it exptional for hard to reach spots and very easy on small flower beds. again can't go wrong with this product. Even my Wife can use it very well. We are both in our retirement ages. Way to go Homedepot!!!!

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great choice After moving to a new home with a much larger yard, I decided to replace my 40 year old corded trimmer. My only decision was gas or battery operated and, because I already have an arsonal of Ryobi one plus tools that have performed admirably, the choice was easy. The trimmer was easy to assemble and adjusts quickly for operator height. It is light and well balanced making it very comfortable for the 45 min I need to use it. Once I made sure it was working and feeding line correctly, I replaced the included .065 line with twisted .080. It still feeds line just fine but now lasts much longer and is able to take down light brush and vines easily.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Great Basic Edger Great edger for basic trimming and holding back ivy that's trying to take over my bushes. It does the job all in one charge. Make sure you have a full charge before doing an entire yard. It is a little difficult getting the battery in and out, and the other reviewers are correct about of holding down the trigger and safety lock--it's annoying and makes your fingers tired. Overall, the edger is pretty easy to use after playing with the handle levels and different placements for edging or trimming. The edger is also a pretty compact for storage. At 5lbs, the edgers is also light enough for the ladies.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Nice little trimmer in the Ryobi product family This trimmer has three different tilt angles to make it easy to cut cleanly along pavement. It is battery-operated and I can nearly always trim the front and back yards on one full battery (lot size is a little over 7000 sqft). It has constant steady power the whole time I use it and instead of the power drooping as the battery drains, it will just shut off when it gets too low. Battery goes from empty to full in about 2 hours. It is lightweight and has a no-bump line feed. It's a great little trimmer and I hope it lasts a long time. (I already owned 2 of the Ryobi ONE Plus batteries.)

Rated 5 de 5 de par ONE+ 18-Volt Cordless String Trimmer/Edger - I already had 2 batteries so opted for the less expensive, no battery included trimmer. Minor assembly required, was easily and quickly completed. I haven't completely discharged a battery yet going around my 9000 sq ft lot. (my batteries are 1 year old) The trim line seems to be holding up ok, trimming around the cement foundation, good size asphalt parking area, and fence lining the back yard. Light and easy to handle, used it 4 times since purchase and have no complaints. I don't have heavy brush and I'm not sure this trimmer is intended for that purpose, same for the edging, but it suits my needs. It's a good quality general purpose trimmer/ edger, and a great value for the money.

New line dispensing or manual?

hi, does the string comes out automatically or each time it breaks i have to open the cover and pull it out manually? my old trimmer breaks the like every 5 minutes and i spend more time fixing it than wacking the grass... i saw the trimmers which dispense a piece of new line by pressing a button.

It has a auto feed that seems to feed out when trigger is pulled (from a stop). Works pretty good so far for me but have only used it 3 times and haven't had to replenish the line yet.

Does this trimmer use a common size string or is it unique to this trimmer?

Posée par: BigAl
The 18-VOlt Cordless String Trimmer/Edger uses .065 string line. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE A LARGER LINE. The (RPM's) Rotations Per Minute of the trimmer are not fast enough to cut the larger line, and you will experience line feeding issues with the larger line.

Can I use a milwaukee 18v battery for this product?

Sorry Im not too good at this lol Hope its not too much of a dumb question. In advance thanks :)
Posée par: Jenni
No. The Ryobi products can only be used with Ryobi 18 volt batteries. The nice thing about Ryobi 18 volt tools is that the battery is interchangeable with all their 18 volt products. If you own Milwaukee tools you will have to purchase a battery and charger if the product does not come with it.

can you use the 18V lithium ion battery with this unit?

Posée par: john
You have to use the 18V lithium ion batter with this unit, no other option. There is a more expensive version that has an option to use the 18V battery or a power cord, but that is not this model.
