Rated 2 de 5 de par Sick of cheap plastic parts. Plastic blade retainer lever popped off. Can’t find any info on how it goes back together with springs. Not used much now worthless.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Very nice This is every bit as good as my pricy Bosch jig saw. No case or accessories but nice features and works great. Can't beat the price

Rated 5 de 5 de par Notes on 481 vs 451 As a previous reviewer noted, the 451 has apparently been replaced with the 481. I just picked up a 481, and note the following differences: No dust collector Won't accept U blades, only T blades (I just bought U for my old saw before I gave up on it, wouldn't you know it) No laser guide (does have the LED to light the work surface, however) I don't consider any of the above to be problems. The saw seems quite robust and cuts well. The speed control is separate from the power switch, which I like. The orbital action works well. (I would not buy a non-orbital jigsaw. Orbital is like a hot knife thru butter by comparison, on materials where you can use that feature.) For the money, you can't beat this IF it proves to be reasonably durable.

Rated 1 de 5 de par This product is not good After using the saw, I was not able to extract the blade. The assemly that holds the blade broke as I tried to extract blade. Now I have a saw with a dull blade that I cannot replace. The cost of the replacement parts are more than the saw cost. Generally Ryobi products are good, but this one is not.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Upgraded model has improved blade holder Home Depot's web site still lists this as the JS451L, whereas my local Home Depot instead has the JS 481L for the same price. The 481L has a completely different mechanism for holding the blade that is made of metal and looks like it'll hold up much better than the mechanism in the 451L. I used it today for a number of cuts of both metal and wood. The tool is quite versatile and cuts through wood like butter! One note - the base tilts to support cutting at different angles, and it seemed like there was no way to ensure it was set to 0 angle. It turns out there is a detent in the base to help seat the unit. You need to slide the base back 1/4" to seat before closing the orange latch.

Rated 1 de 5 de par should have seen it coming Got the first one home, and found that it was a broken return someone had stuffed back into the box.(still sawdust on it) Exchanged it for another, and had issues getting the blade to seat properly and not pop out. Finally the lever mechanism for the blade retention just broke off in my hand. Now I see why the first one was returned.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Worst tool in my arsenal You have been warned. One star is generous. This is the first and last Ryobi product I will purchase. You really get what you pay for with this thing. I couldn't cut a straight line with it if my life depended on it. Even though I am running it tight to a guide, the blade still wanders a good 1/8" off my target line. It rattles around so much some of the knobs change place in the middle of a cut. I'm convinced the blade support roller doesn't have the ability to stay still (even with orbital turned off). If it was free it would be overpriced. On the plus side, I only wasted [do not mention price you paid] bucks on this and now I know to avoid Ryobi like the plague.
