I am laying vinyl loose lay flooring in my basement and need to find a glue that will bond the outside perimeter of the room in question. Will this product be the proper adhesive to bond the vinyl floor to the concrete in the basement?

    Posée par: Jason
We do not recommend using SAKRETE Concrete Adhesive to bond vinyl flooring to concrete.

Thanks for your response. I will blend it with SAKRETE Sand Mix cement, is there any specific ratio? Should I add lesser water to the mix, since I add the concrete adhesive? Does the concrete adhesive make the concrete stronger/more PSI as well?

    Posée par: Hosein
Hi Hosein, adding the SAKRETE concrete Adhesive to the mix will improve the bond between both surfaces. Deduct equal amounts of water to the adhesive added. Changes to strength development is minor, the material may become more durable to the exposed elements. Alternately you could simply just brush SAKRETE Concrete Adhesive onto the surface prior to placing the SAKRETE Sand Mix rather than adding to the mix. Your choice. Also for best result make sure all repairs are completed to a damp surface, allow material to set, then cure as per the packaging : Curing means maintaining proper moisture and temperature. Allow newly placed material to set until surface is hard to the touch. SAKRETE Sand Mix will set in approximately 6 hours. Then keep material damp or cover with plastic to prevent evaporation of mix water for at least three (3) days. Protect from freezing for at least 24 hours. Can be opened to foot traffic in 24 hours.

Can I use this product to glue my subfloor https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.r-insulated-subfloor-panel-235-inch-x-235-inch.1000788120.html in my basement. Space is only 100 sq feet. Issue is no edges, it’s in the middle of my work shop.

    Posée par: Basst42
Thank you for your inquiry. No, do not use SAKRETE Concrete Adhesive in this application. Your subfloor sections are designed to lock into each adjoining section and not be glued down. If I may offer a suggestion? Would I be correct to understand your plan is to stop the open area at your bench from floating (moving about with daily traffic)? If so a few strips of plywood, positioned around the perimeter corners, mechanically anchored should hold the section in place. Or Just use a few mechanical fasteners in a few outer permitter sections should have the same results. Both ideas allow you to move / remove the sections at a later date. Mechanical fasteners are simple, drill hole with a concrete drill, plastic plug/anchor, screw the section down snug to floor. This is only a suggestion. Your direction on what to do is ultimately your decision. Hope this helps.

Can King Concrete Adhesive be used as a water reducer to mix with concrete. If not what kind of product you can offer??

    Posée par: Anonyme
Concrete adhesive is not a water reducer as you may be referring it to. As designed it can be mixed in with the mix substituting the water portion recommended. I hope this helps answer your question.
