Rated 4 de 5 de par Good product, TERRIBLE INSTRUCTIONS End result is that it became rock solid and repaired my driveway holes just fine. The instructions should say to use this when there is no rain. Apply this product to your holes or cracks. The key here is to keep compacting it as it is cold compress. Once compacted, I put a scrap piece of wood on-top of it and drove over couple times. Then I continued to compact it 3-4 times a day every day for couple of minutes. Be careful as it is sticky in the beginning so make sure you clean your compact tool as you go. Last thing is if you have a repair area, spread it out evenly first and use a trowel to give it shape.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Excellent value I was very sceptical buying this product because of the bad reviews, but it was worth a try at that price range. I used a 10X10 tamper to fill uneveness and a few holes in the driveway. Did not apply sealer for 2 weeks. For the first few days, the product was still soft and would damage easy, but by the 2nd week it was hard as a rock. I would recommend this product as excellent value.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Quick and Easy It's pretty simple to use as you follow the instructions. So far after a month, it's holding up nicely and will seal it by end of Summer to protect it from the Winter.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Will not harden properly Purchased 7 bags to repair the parking lot. The stuff after a week is not hardening. Still is soft and not only sticks to tires but also peoples shoes. This is tracked onto the new rugs in the Apartment. What a product. The quality has been lacking this year and I would recommend you look for a replacement to fix your potholes. Seems like this company is just getting it done cheaper and quality is not high on there list anymore. Shame it was a good company once.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Half of the product has hardened... I patch a low spot in our driveway and tamped it down very well with a manual (hand) tamper. Some of the product has hardened (completely? No, but enough to drive on and not leave tire prints behind). The remainder of the product is very soft - not sure what I could have done differently, but it would appear that whatever type of hardening materials are in the product, they have failed. Hope this helps the next person whi thinks of using this product to repair their driveway.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Could be better This product would be so much better if it had small stone/gravel so when you tamp it in the stones set against one another to give proper support and much longer life. I buy a bag of small stone and mix it in myself but don't mix too much stone in or there won't be enough asphalt to set the stone.

Rated 4 de 5 de par The more you tamp down the better Purchased it a month ago to fill some denting in asphalt. Carved 1 inch wall (manufacturer recommends 1.5"-2.0") to make sure compound stays and added 3 layers of 1" each tamping each layer thoroughly. Avoided driving on it for 3 weeks, manufacturer says 2 days should suffice. The more time goes the more strength compound accumulates like concrete.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Fine grain, good compaction. Used this to patch potholes in barn concrete floor. Adheres well, compacts easily, is fine grained like coffee grounds, not large pebbles like other brands. Hardened up nicely the next day. Only been a week so I cant comment on long term wear & tear. Recommended over the Quickrete stuff. Suggestion - cut sides of holes vertical with an angle grinder prior to filling. It helps contain the borders of the asphalt patch.

Will heating up the material with a butane torch  make the product set faster and be more maluable?

    Posée par: Ya know

When the ambient temperature is below 15 °C (60 °F), keep bag in a warm environment (20 °C/68 °F or greater) for a least 24 hours before using. PROCEDURES Mix and substrate temperatures should be maintained between 5 °C (40 °F) and 30 °C (86 °F) for at least 24 hours prior to and 72 hours after placement. Can someone advise if the area to patch must be completely dry or if damp allowed?

    Posée par: Denis
Thank you for your inquiry. Let’s answer your question in 2 parts. 1st if the asphalt area to be repaired is a hole then: you could as long as the area is only damp with no actual water in the hole. 2nd if the repair is a bird bath: then the surface must be clean and dry before placing the material. In both cases follow these directions. Surface Preparation: Chisel out and remove all existing, damaged asphalt, to a depth of 5 cm (2”) to 10 cm (4”). Square up the area to be repaired, ensuring that all the sides are vertical. Avoid a bird bath shaped edge. Using a stiff broom or brush, remove all loose particles, mud, dust, grass, etc. Remove any unsound portions of the base. Fill deeper holes with gravel to proper depth. Placing: Pour SAKRETE Asphalt Repair into hole and level about 1.3 cm (1/2”) higher than surrounding pavement. Thoroughly compact using a hand-tamper. Deep holes should be compacted in layers 5 cm (2”) thick or less. Final repair should not exceed 10 cm (4”) in depth. NOTE: The greater the compaction, the better the patch. Hope this information helps you with your project.

Can this be used to fill the gap between the garage and driveway? it is about 1 inch high. If not, what product should we use to fill the gap? Thanks.

    Posée par: RAYL
Yes Sakrete Asphalt Repair can be used in your application. You may want to edge the perimeter about 1/2" down for the patch to key in and be flush with the existing area. Hope this helps.

what's the difference between this and the Sakrete US cold patch?

the US cold patch from Sakrete is a compact and use immediately type product (sounds like an amazing product if you asked me). I'm trying to patch a small area (1ft x 25ft) that is directly adjacent to the entrance to my garage where the concrete meets the lane asphalt so drying/curing time is a bit of a concern
