Rated 1 de 5 de par Not working at all I am sorry to leave such a negative review, but this product did not work to kill the white grubs I have in my backyard lawn, not at all. I followed strictly the instructions: I used a Scott’s handheld spreader in level 3 as recommended on the product to spread the product. I watered my lawn after spreading the product as recommended. It did NOTHING to kill the grubs, and the raccoons and skunks kept coming back to dig up my lawn to look for grubs. 5 days after I spread the product, I dug up parts of the lawn to inspect. There were grubs as usual. I bought 2 packs of the products for my front and back yards. I am frustrated and so disappointed about the result.

Rated 5 de 5 de par This product has worked great On the advice of my landscaper, I purchased several bags and covered most of the lawn, leaving a section for comparison. Of the areas covered since summer, the raccoons and crows have not been tearing the lawn apart this year, and as an added bonus, it has reduced mole activity to just the area which wasn't treated. As the product took care of the grubs, the moles moved on as their food source was removed. I wish I could obtain larger containers of the product due to the size of the lawn.

Rated 1 de 5 de par It doesn't work My neighbor warned me of the ineffectiveness of this product in Canada. I went ahead and bought 2 bags anyway, as there was no alternative product to control grubs. I applied 2 bags in about 2500 sqft in early September. In October, the racoons came back and lifted the turf in search for grubs. Apparently my neighbor was right with this product's inability to kill grubs in Canada. Generally I like Scotts products, but I regret wasting my money on Scotts Grub B Gon Max!!! Check the photos.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Proven to fail, see my white Grub picture After Nematodes failed me badly, I gave this new product Grub-BGon Max a try because it's based on "Bacillus Thuringiensis". I read every single line of instructions, used Scott's spreader set it to #3, watered it deeply. I started applied in late April, 2020, re-applied after 7 days. Then again in May, 2020, re-applied 7 days because I could see some particular spot grass on my lawn didn't grow. I added grass seed on those spots, none of the new grass were able to sprout and I knew there was some issues. In early June, I re-apply again. Today in mid June, I dug up the brown/dead spots on my lawn. As I expected, whenever grass seeds didn't grow there were big fat white grubs down there. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Totally I applied 5 doses this seasons, still not able to kill them!!? Can you imagine just apply one time? This is a joke. BTW, Scott's web site on "Grub to Japanese beetle life cycle" may not be totally accurate for Ontario, Grubs turn into Japanese beetle in August in my area, most of them are still Grubs in late June.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Grubs eating lawn I applied product on May 17 2020 and again on May 29 2020. Today I have the same dead patches formed as I experienced last summer. Product specs were followed to the "T". Very disappointed as there are no legal products in Ontario to stop this infestation.

Rated 1 de 5 de par high expectations but disappointing. I bought the Grub B Gone with high hopes. Used as specified and a week later i replied. Unfortunately 3 weeks after the first application we found white grubs in my yard. My yard is fairly small and 1 package should be enough for two and a half applications but i used it in 2, hoping that slightly higher dosage should do even better job. Not only it did not do better job - but my wife was so disappointed to find 3 grubs last weekend .

Rated 4 de 5 de par Grubs gone but need to repair grass now I bought this product for my front lawn near a tree that was recently removed. Grubs have been infesting this area for years.. I used it as directed and followed the steps. The grubs seem to be gone which is fantastic! I found out after that I need to repair my lawn now. Im going to buy this product for my backyard next.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Grub b gone should be called cash be gone I have followed the instructions of this product religiously for over two years. Biggest waste of money. I have more grubs now than I did before. Maybe this product is grub enhancer. I don’t recommend. The only grubs that died were the ones I might have stepped on by accident while applying this product.

I did purchase this Scott’s Grub BGon Max 1.4 Kg Grub Killer when or the time of the year I should use it on my lawn

Posée par: Imad
For the best results, Scotts Grub B Gon MAX Grub Killer should be applied between adult flight and egg hatch. The timing listed below is recommended for each season: SPRING (April – late May): Apply after the ground has thawed to control over-wintering grubs that are now migrating to the surface to feed on the roots. SUMMER (late June – early August): Apply to control newly hatched grub larvae. This product should be applied within 2-3 weeks of peak timing for adult beetles. FALL (late August – September): Apply to help control new grubs that have hatched from new beetle eggs throughout the summer. This will help to protect the turf from over-wintering grubs and lessen the impact and quantity of grubs the following spring.

Research paper "Bacillus thuringiensis on Japanese beetle" by Carl Redmond said "Granular Btg formulations failed to control JB larvae in 4 of 5 trials conducted at different turfgrass sites". Does Scotts has any lab data to prove that's wrong?

Posée par: Riniboo
Having been dealing with lawn grubs for years and hoping this Bacillus will work, I searched the internet for more data. Here's what I found - some very positive data generated by a number of different researchers. Dave Shetlar at Ohio State tested on Japanese beetle and Chafer: https://academic.oup.com/amt/article/40/1/G15/2390539 Also a presentation with lots of data: http://greenearthagandturf.com/btg-grubgone-beetlegone-cnla-presentation.pdf

Is this product pet friendly? We have cats and dogs that go outside in the yard and need to know if they'd be able to use the yard after this has been applied. Thanks

Posée par: Tony
Pets should be removed from the area during application and can re enter the area after 4 hours. Make sure to read and follow all label directions.
