Rated 1 de 5 de par Beautiful Mushroom garden Bought 2 dozen bags of this 'premium' soil? Every single spot on my lawn that I placed it to fill in patches first produced hundred of tiny mushrooms, that appeared each morning or whenever moisture was added. Those dried out eventually. Then my lawn turned yellow. I covered with another brands black earth and lawn has come back. Avoid this product!

Rated 4 de 5 de par Many bags contain great soil some are a mess I bought several bags of this throughout the season. Truth to be told the first ones worked wonders on my newly planted Rhodos and other shrubs but the last ones contained a lot of non-composted wood, shredded plastic, nylon and other kinds of debris. One of them was mostly composed of something creamy, beige and disgusting that seems to be chunks of partially decomposed paper. It is usually a great product but some bags have serious quality issues

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great product I bought 12 bags of this and it was great. It was fluffy, spread well, holds moisture great, looks good and does it's job. It hasn't been in long enough to know if it will generate weeds or not, but in 12 bags I didn't have any issues with plastic/twigs/etc like others reported. I picked up another 15 to finish my project and didn't have any issues - plus the price is fantastic.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great addition to poor soil. What a difference adding good soil makes to a garden! We have a small plot in a shared garden at a lake. We have not had much success with good crops due to the poor, sandy soil. I put 20 bags of this soil in and the crop was fantastic! The other gardeners were asking what we did and I showed them one of the unopened bags. A few of them went and bought some to add to their plots. There were no issues with rogue weeds popping up, which has happened in the past with economy soil. No doubt that this process will have to be repeated in about 5 years due to the sandy soil but it is well worth it.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Premium Garden Soil! HA! I bought 3 bags of this soil and upon opening the first bag it was full of twigs and plastic pieces. The 2nd bag was were the real gems were! Full of small mushrooms!! This is NOT a Premium soil. I have not opened the 3rd bag yet. When I do I will take pictures of the debris and or mushrooms. The black earth I bought from another location last year was by far superior for alot less. It's funny I had to edit this post because I actually named the other store where I purchased the item. Yet another strike against Home Depot.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Negative Features of Scotts Premium Garden Soil I purchased twelve and wish I'd only purchased one. Far too many small pieces of wood and yes, bits of plastic too...Much time is spent trying to remove the pieces of wood when it is used for top dressing the lawn. When it dries out invariably more wood to pick out.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Literally Has Garbage in it. DON'T BUY. I bought this a week ago for a vegetable garden as it says "all purpose" garden soil. After opening it and dumping it all into the garden and mixing it, there is bits of plastic and other TRASH, LITERAL GARBAGE IN THESE BAGS. I believed Scott's was a reputable Brand, but reading other reviews herein it's clear they don't care at all. Lost my business for sure across all product lines.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Horrible Product The Scotts Garden Soil smells like it was taken from a pig barn. It's grey in colour and I'm sure it was sourced from the fires in Fort Mac.

what soil is best for filling in holes in our lawn caused by uor dog.

    Posée par: Anonyme
You can use Scotts Premium Garden Soil to fill in holes if it is mixed in a 50/50 ratio with the native soil. To just fill in holes a top soil is the best option.

Can this be used for overseeding a lawn? Is it weed free?

    Posée par: Anonyme
This product can be used for overseeding, but we would suggest using Scotts Turf Builder Lawn Soil for seeding products. Our soil products are composted to kill of most weed seeds, but they are not sterilized.

best soil to add to clay soil for flowers and shrubs

Looking to add top soil or soil additive to heavy clay soil for planting flower
    Posée par: Anonyme
Clay soil holds water well, but is slow to absorb and release it. When watering plants growing on clay avoid applying the water faster than the soil can absorb it. Run the sprinklers until the water starts to run off, then turn off the sprinklers until the water soaks in. Repeat the watering until the full amount has been applied. The best way to improve clay soils is with the addition of organic material. Core aeration and top dressing will help to loosen compact soil. I suggest using high quality organic materials such as peat moss, well-rotted compost or Scotts Premium Topsoil. After aerating, apply a top dressing and rake the material into the holes using the backside of a leaf rake. If planting a new garden, place up to 4 inches of organic material such as peat moss, well-rotted compost, Scotts Premium Topsoil, over soil and till in to a depth of 6-8 inches. In some areas, gypsum can be used to improve clay soils. Gypsum is helpful in loosening compacted clay soils that are high in salt content, especially in arid/dry regions. These soil types are found primarily in the western U.S. Gypsum may also help flush salt in these soil types while adding sulfur and calcium. In other regions, gypsum is generally not a helpful soil amendment, as most soils are not high in salt content. For more information on using gypsum to improve clay soils in your area I recommend contacting a reputable nursery in your area.
